Le staff est sympa et accueillant. J’ai commandé un ‘double coffee’ et ce qui devait être un éclair au chocolat. En fait, j’ai eu un «éclair au chocolat crème pâtissière à l’ananas». Don’t ask…

Great ambience, love the taste of their coffee, great selections of their desserts. Very friendly and nice staff with the Italian accent . Nice place to study, hangout, and go on a date. Nothing formal, just casual outfit will do. The downside is that the wifi connection is bad. Would definitely go here regularly

Great food. Just not too keen about standing in line to order and pay. They will bring everything to your table but they will not take your order at the table. Otherwise, food, coffee and pastries are all really good and affordably priced

I’m surprised I haven’t written a review for Elysee yet. The lunch selection in Westwood is not great, but I would have to say Elysee is one of my go-tos. I’ve tried their breakfast items, which are good… but what I always come here for is the Bacon and brie sandwich. First of all, their french bread… OMG…so soft, fluffy and delicious. Their sandwiches come on this bread and it’s just glorious. They also come on the side of soups and some breakfast items and it is good by itself, soaked in soup, with butter, with jam… pretty much any way you want to eat it. Second, their balsamic dressing is creamy and delicious. I order the bacon/brie sandwich(usually sub out the bacon with prosciutto) with a side of green salad and the balsamic dressing. I lather the dressing on the sandwich and then jump onto the happy train! SO good. I’ve also tasted their club sandwich, which is pretty good as well. Fries are thin, crispy and seasoned well. The sandwiches are a good size, so for the price, it’s totally worth it. Staff is friendly and attentive. Walk up to the counter, order your food and sit down. They bring your order to your table. The tables are a bit small, but you can always push two together. I do see a lot of people studying here but I never had any issues finding a table to sit at. Never really tasted their sweets but everything looks really good. I just don’t want to leave Elysee without getting my usual!

$ 8 and change for a latte and hard, old, dense croissant. Wi-fi didn’t work. Tables weren’t clean. Pass.

First time coming here today for breakfast. It’s very cute french style restuatant with indoor and out door seating. Too cold for out door seating in the morning during this time of year. I decided to sit inside where it’s nice and cozy. The menu is up on the wall and they have a big selection and went back to Unilocal because I’m more of a visual person. Finally once I knew what I wanted I place my order with the cashier. Customer service was okay, not a good morning, not a smile, nothing. I paid and got a number and sat down. It was maybe about a 10 minute wait for the food. I had to get up and ask them to clean my table because it wasn’t wiped down. I began to notice that two cops came in and they gave them a warm smile and greeted them. Maybe they pick and chose who they want to greet. Also, I noticed that I got up a couple time to ask for things and no one was at the cashier both girls were seating on a table like customers on their phone chit chatting. I will say the food was excellent but customer service not so much.

We came for lunch and were not disappointed! We shared an order of pasta with chicken in mushroom sauce — a substantial dish which came with a small salad and dinner roll, more than enough food for 2 people. I have seen lines out the door during breakfast/brunch hours on weekends and can easily see the reason why. I would not hesitate to return.

They have a wide variety of cakes and pastries here. It’s pretty sweet stuff but there’s no other comparable place in Westwood I think. A good place to study with outlets and lots of small tables for small groups. I often see people outside with their pets enjoying the blaring fire engine sirens and impatient honking of the denizens.

The price is a high but they have good pastries and drinks. The wifi is pretty good for students who want to come study and need the internet to grab their assignments online or to submit code. Only a small number of outlets are there. For those who don’t need outlets and there to eat, they have a few 2 seaters outside the place. If you’re really watching your wallet, it is definitely recommended to not go here. Otherwise you will be sad about it later. I do come here to just read and I enjoy the background music played.

Be prepared for a 40-minute-wait during weekend brunch times! Also, you might not be able to get seated right away. You can always choose the outdoor seatings, which are honestly quite nice if you like people watching. Though you’ll be at the mercy of the weather(like me and my friend did)! With that said, Elysee has a normal Westwood pricing, but the amount of food you get makes it SUPER worth it! With my egg benedict, came a croissant, a cup of coffee and OJ, and a bowl of fruit. They were all alright. Me and my friend ended up splitting that and the sweet crepes, which was surprisingly really good. Try: the sweet crepes — it’s basic but so light. Plus, may i add, there’s NUTELLA! the chocolatey desserts — they were decent as I remember. They are moist and creamy at all the right places. I cannot comment on the other cakes though, cuz chocolate is kinda my thang. Overall, the food was good, but not super wow-ing. I may come back again for the great deal.

Elysee is a lunch staple for me in Westwood area. Sure, prices are a bit steep for a casual café, but the quality of the food and baked goods meets expectations. We often have croissants catered at my office and they are some of the best I’ve had; buttery, fluffy, fragrant and beautifully golden. The croissants come in a variety of flavors, but my favorite is the ham and cheese, followed by the chocolate. I frequent Elysee regularly for lunch, namely on the days I have a long lunch hour and need a place to relax and get stuff done. They have many small tables, free wifi and electrical outlets, so it’s a great place to study. I appreciate the Parisian sidewalk café atmosphere, and the casual, order at the counter and take your number vibe. For lunch, they have a wide variety of sandwiches, pastas and salads. I love their salads! The actual salad is not too special but their grilled chicken is super flavorful, moist and fresh. I love heaping salads with lots of treats inside, and Elysee definitely has a good one. Parking in the area is horrendous, but not impossible. There are many parking meters and a couple public parking lots in Westwood that are a short walk away.

I get infusions at a pharmacy that is right next to this place so I’ve gotten some baked goods here before. The first time we came was to get some coffee for my Mom before she had to drive home. I got some of their sugar cookies with sprinkles which were addicting, buttery and not too sweet. Yummy sweet treat after a hard day at the infusion clinic. Yesterday I was back for another infusion and we got snacks here again. My Mom went over there to get me something to eat before I had to take my meds. She came back with an iced tea, croissant and fruit. The tea was perfect, refreshing and a little strong. The croissant was probably one of the best I’ve had, soft, pillowy and buttery. Even when it wasn’t warm the bread was soft and delicious. The variety of fruit was chopped up into bite sized pieces and every piece was fresh and juicy. Happy this place is right by the pharmacy. They have awesome baked goods and iced tea.

I’ve heard great things about this place and I finally had the chance to check it out. The place looks tiny from the outside, but it is fairly large on the inside with plenty of seating. There are quite a few tables, and plenty of outlets along the walls. The music is a little loud, so it can be difficult for some people to work, I didn’t find it to be a problem though. I had a slice of their tiramisu, and it was amazing. Perfect ratio of cream to cake, with no overwhelming flavors. Highly recommend! Definitely will visit again, great study spot! The macchiato was smooth although contain an overwhelming bitter taste. On top of that, they made it like a shot and not a drink. I was so confuse when they gave me my drink. It was like carrying air. There was nothing. However the barista was very kind and offered to add in more milk and coffee thereafter. This is not my cup of tea place. It’s too confusing as to what you’re getting.

Maybe as a bakery, this place is the bomb. I came here for brunch as part of a group of 8. That was a mistake. The restaurant isn’t built for groups much larger than two. Even four seems to be a stretch. The place is tiny. Servers seemed confused or distracted, getting our orders wrong and forgetting things. I believe the menu said I was supposed to get a roll with my order and it never came. I got the French toast and it was fine, but I’ve honestly had better at home. Water is available, but only in tiny plastic cups. There’s a self-serve station around the corner from the cashier. This isn’t a great place to grab brunch. But I add the disclaimer that the pastries could be awesome and I’d never know.

Elysee has great food, if a little overpriced. I frequently come here for language exchange and usually stick to tea and sweets. Their cakes and pastries are excellent, especially the Almond Croissant and Chocolate Mousse Cake. The tea is a little overpriced, especially the iced. The major thing holding this place back is the service. All of the staff seems terribly casual and more involved in their own conversations and drama than providing service. I’ve seen employees sit down at tables near patrons and make personal phone calls(and I mean personal — relationship details nobody needed to hear). They also aren’t particularly helpful about the menu, which is ridiculous. The impressive cake/sweet case isn’t labeled, but if you dare to ask what more than one cake is, be prepared for an exasperated eyeroll. It isn’t that they don’t know — they just don’t want to talk to you. This issue is with the front of the house staff only. The kitchen staff and runners are all prompt, polite, and efficient. Unfortunately the front of house seems to think professionalism is optional.

It’s a small shop in the Westwood area. Came here because it was one of the walkable distances for brunch. Nothing special. Service was mediocre. An okay experience, but there was nothing exceptionally good nor exceptionally bad, just exceptionally mediocre. A little pricey for the food quality. The staff attitude is on the down side. Polite at the beginning, but when I asked them more questions about the food or the cake that they have and not yet placing an order, their attitude started getting worse and worse. Not a sort of attitude that you should have.

Finally decided to try this place out for brunch. I ordered their eggs benedict, and at $ 14, it was pretty pricey. BUT, I will say that you get a lot of food for what you pay for. In addition to the eggs benedict, it came with freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee, a huge croissant, potatoes, and fruit. So I guess when you look at it that way, the $ 14 isn’t too bad. Unfortunately, I thought the amount of food was the only redeeming aspect about this place. The food itself was a little disappointing. Orange juice was good(really good, actually), the croissant was good, but the eggs benedict… fell way short of my expectations. The english muffin was so hard to chew, it tasted almost stale. The egg on one half was overcooked and the yolk was almost completely solidified. The hollandaise sauce was pretty good, though. Not overly rich and buttery like it is on a lot of the eggs benedicts that I’ve tried. But I didn’t think it was enough to carry this dish. And to top it all off, the potatoes that came with the dish were slightly burnt and were way too crispy for my taste. I wasn’t impressed. Like I said, you get a very generous amount of food here, but when it comes to taste and quality, I was expecting a lot more. It’s still $ 14 after all.

Stopped in real quick to read and enjoy a sweet treat after a poop day. Got the chocolate cheesecake because it looked absolutely delicious and also just the right amount of «man I hate myself today.» It was $ 5 for a large slice and I was okay with the price. I got a table and went at it. I enjoyed the chocolate cookie crust, and the lining. Even the ball of fudge on top was quite on point. At the end of the day there wasnt anything too special about it. While it was good, it was just A-OK as Unilocal would say. I would definitely come back again and try some other things in their sweets case and edit this review if I do.

Some parts of this place have a great atmosphere, but some don’t. If you’re going to hang out at this café, be picky about where you sit. $ 3 for a bag of packaged tea is overpriced. And the tea is not very good.
