Poorly maintained buildings.
Management does absolutely nothing to fix any repairs in your apartment. Perks is the rent cost, but you always get what you pay for. Not only that, be prepared to deal with cockroaches.

Awful property managers. They’re incredibly difficult to communicate with via phone or email. I’m still waiting on a repair that we requested three months ago. It’s the worst management company I’ve had.

I have lived in other rentals and taking care of repairs always took forever. In comparison to other management companies, I was actually quite impressed by the efficiency in responding to my calls.

I’ve lived in many rentals in various cities and this management company/​landlord/​property manager is the worst I’ve ever had. They take days to respond to issues. The manager is extremely rude and unreliable and uses the excuse that he has 40+ property to manage and is too busy to answer his messages any quicker. When they finally send people to fix the problem, they don’t give notice that they will be entering the property and don’t send professionals and the problem (in this case a leaking roof) persists for years. They then think it’s okay to randomly raise the rent $ 200 a month! Do not rent from Essential Management, Inc!!!
