Fernando’s Catering

They were awesome, professional and the tacos were delicious. I highly recommend them and five stars is not enough because they deserve more for the awesome job they did.

Recently had a last minute birthday brunch. Fernando was friendly professional and above all else serves quality food. Friends kept texting me all week with «best tacos ever»!!

We love Fernando’s Catering! My husband and I hosted a co-​ed baby shower last weekend and we couldn’t have been more pleased with selecting Fernando’s Catering to handle our food service. We met them at a house warming party the weekend before that they were catering and after trying the food, which was excellent, we decided to hire them for our party.
We had about 40 people and we had plenty of delicious food, all of our guests raved about it and many people had more than one plate! I found Fernando’s Catering to be very professional and responsive via e-​mail, they were on time for our party (in fact, a little early, which was great), they were very polite to all of our guests, and they did a great job with set up and clean up. If you are hosting a party and you want excellent tacos, great service, and a reliable vendor, hire Fernando’s. I will definitely use them for my next party!

Fernando catered in my backyard yesterday. He was prompt, professional and very friendly. His tacos (4 types of meat, all the fixings, including grilled vegetables) were extremely delicious, and the price/​value quotient was off the charts. great food at a great price. all my guests took his business card, and I know I’ll see Fernando again, at both their homes and mine.
You can’t do better at 5X the price!

Unilocalers, there are taco carts, and then there is Fernando. he is, as the Unilocal 5-​star line says, woohoo, as good as it gets. anytime someone asks about getting taco catering for their event, i basically sing Fernando’s praises to the high heavens until they agree to let me message them his number. inevitably, i get a gushingly grateful thank-​you email or text right after the party, unless i’m invited too, whereupon i am usually gushed at in person. seriously.
OK, so why is Fernando so awesome you should just plan a party to have him cater (kind of like we do)? three main reasons:
1. his food is ridiculously, eyeball-​rollingly, tummy-​heaven-​inducingly good. especially the al pastor. i dream of Fernando’s al pastor. he will cook fresh several kinds of meat right there for you and have plenty of toppings to go with. tortillas are fresh and delicious, and his beans and rice are really good. there are also chips, guac, and salsa. he can also do grilled veggies — all the non-​meat eaters at your party will be very happy.
2. his affordability. his incredibly fair pricing includes: him coming to you, with a helper, and all his cooking setup (which is a fairly small footprint — good for backyards!). don’t worry about where in SoCal you live; when i first hired him long ago he was in Ontario and happily did my party on the Westside. you will get several types of meat, veggies, beans, rice, cheese, chips, salsa, guacamole, toppings galore, and all the plates/​napkins/​utensils. he will leave all extra food with you, and every party he’s ever catered that i’ve been to or hired him for, he brings PLENTY of food: no one goes hungry, and you get awesome leftovers. (protip: don’t tell your guests how good that al pastor is so that you get to keep a big tub of it in your fridge for the next few days to enjoy.)
3. he is an absolute gentleman and a true professional. he speaks English fluently, picks up his phone or returns calls immediately, and is totally reliable. he is punctual, spotlessly clean, and treats every guest with politeness and friendliness. usually, his assistant is a member of his family, and they are the same way. he will gladly make quesadillas for all the kids (and grownups), or extra-​char that jalapeño for you, or heap extra al pastor on your tacos without hesitation. he will stay for three hours and make sure everyone knows when he needs to start packing up so no one is disappointed.
look, we are in SoCal, land of Many Taco Providers, and land of many Strong Taco Opinions. i can guarantee the deliciousness of Fernando’s food (and service too!) will earn you Awesome Host Points with even the most jaded and snobby of your taco-​loving guests.
the only drawback to experiencing Fernando is that YOU will become jaded and snobby about all other taco catering that you will experience afterwards. so do your friends a favor (and make them invite you) and make them hire Fernando for their next party. you don’t have to gushingly thank me; please feel free to take all the credit. and some extra al pastor.

I just had Fernando cater a party last saturday — I hired him from a referral from a neighbor, I had not tasted his food only heard he was great, did a great job and food was great. So I crossed my fingers and booked him. Fernando did not disappoint. He came early to set up, set up a nice spread. He is so pleasant and polite. He began cooking right away. I was a little scared because it was going to be a tough crowd due to the strong opinions my guest have of mexican food. Every singe person raved about how good his food was. Fernando made a good party great with his professionalism, politeness but most of all his great food! We will use him from now on for all our parties. 5 stars for sure!

We used Fernando’s catering and enjoyed the food. Two weeks later we attended another event and they too had taco’s. Except they had another provider. It was then, 2 weeks later, that we realized how delicious and great Fernando’s Catering is. No folks, not all tacos taste the same. I will not mention the other provider but I will say that we are keeping our feet on the ground with Fernando’s Catering and not reach for the star.

. Ive had a few, trust me. Fernando is extremely easy to work with, very reasonably priced, and has greatfood.
He comes about 20 minutes early to set up and starts to cooking. We had four types of meat, beans, rice, and all the fixings including chips and fresh guac. All of it top notch. We paid 600 for 80 people which i think is a deal. He stayed for 3 hours. .most only stay two hours.
All of our guests raved about the food. Fernando was so professional and pleasant. He does sauteed veggies too and quesadillas for the kiddos.
I would highly recommend and I’ll definitely have him back!

Fernandoz catering was the best! They arrived early, set up and started cooking right away. They were so polite and kind. We had more then enough food. The food, sides and fixing were incredible! At the end of the 3 hours they packaged all the left over food up for us.

Fernando and his son are truly the BEST taco catering I have ever eaten. We have repeatedly had them to our home for parties and get compliments every time on how amazing the food is. Two of our friends have also used their services.
I have experienced taco catering at other friends parties and nothing compares.

Fernando’s Catering was such a pleasure to deal with. He came highly recommended, and we used him to cater for 80 people at our CrossFit Los Angeles holiday party. Not only did he provide excellent customer service from the get go, but the food was incredible! It was good, authentic Mexican food. Great price for what you get, and he brings everything he needs for the event. I highly recommend — we’ll definitely be using him again. Thank you, Fernando!

They came early to set up, the food was outstanding, and the presentation beautiful. The salsas and guacamole were awesome too. Our guests all loved it, and I would highly recommend them.
