Considering that I can remember this place being around even when I was a young child & it’s always seen consistent business & foot traffic, I’m surprised I’m the first to write a review. Maybe their customers don’t generally Unilocal?Anyway, I’ve had some variation of red snapper, shrimp, fries & hush puppies here at least 50 times & it’s all great. The fish is consistently well seasoned & the fries are fresh cut, thick & also well seasoned. The shrimp are crispy on the outside & fresh & the hush puppies are great too, but spicy(which I like). In all the times I’ve been here throughout the years, I’ve had 2 bad experiences, one where the fish flavor was off… tasted like it had been cooked in old oil & another where my order was given to someone else & I had to wait longer than the time I was told. 2 hiccups in the amount of times I’ve been there is not a big deal & on the latter event, the guy who took my order apologized profusely & doubled my order at no charge to make it right, which I appreciated. Prices are reasonable as well, the only downside I would say is the parking lot of the strip it’s in seems to attract some«characters.» It is a sketchy ambiance right outside the door(2 doors down is a liquor store)…but I’m come to expect this from fish markets in general because for some reason, they all tend to be around liquor stores, ghetto strip malls, or just have some sort of foolery going on around them. All in all, if you want scenery… you won’t get it here, but I would definitely recommend for some good food.
