Flores Landscaping

Stop looking right now if you need a new lawn or better landscaping! Flores is the only place you need to call. Rumaldo and his crew are true pros, we are completely happy with the look of our new front yard. We really don’t know much about landscaping, but we did have a few ideas. The great pictures here on Unilocal led us to call Flores, and they came right over and talked us through the design and reasonable price. We had a drip line installed for the entire yard, new sod, lava rock, and new plants. They also cut down and took away a few overbearing palm trees. Now that the work is done, we have gone from the worst on the street to the envy of the neighbors, it’s a great feeling! Everything was cleaned up and left in immaculate condition, something we’ve had a problem with when using other contractors in the past. Rumaldo has even called and stopped by weeks later to make sure we are happy, sometimes asking us to text photos so he can see the progress of the lawn. It’s great to have someone who follows through and also knows current technology. Thanks guys!

I wouldn’t recommend them at all. They came out and eventually sent me a quote. Then they disappeared.

I discovered Flores Landscaping through researching reviews on the internet. They just created our beautiful backyard shade tolerant lawn so now I have first-​hand experience in knowing why all the great reviews. They are really skillful and professional, truly the best out there.

Very disappointed with this company. First they said that they will call me back within one hour to set an appointment. They called me end of the day. Then they told me that someone will be there at 9:00 am next day. At 9:00 am they called that they can not make it because the person that was supposed to come was stock in traffic in Santa Monica and will be able to come at 1:30 because he got another appointment. How do I trust a company that they can not manage a simple appointment to begin with.

We selected Flores Landscaping over other companies for two reasons; Design and price. They came up with a wonderful design concept for us that worked well for our house that we had just remodeled and were putting on the market. They planted water-​wise plants on the curbside and used many of our existing plants and decorative stones on the inside of the fence, also adding their own hardscape materials. Although we have a lot of weeds that have popped up on the curbside the plantings look good and we are taking care of removing them ourselves. They also covered up the DWP water shutoff from the street to the house with plants and the drip system, which was annoying, but we were able to uncover it. We still have the irrigation tubes going over the access but it’s accessible. Flores worked well within our budget and despite the weeds and water shutoff access we are very pleased with the overall turnout. We get many compliments and have recommended them. We would definitely work with them again.

I received a call from the manager Eric who was very apologetic about the situation. I appreciate the follow up and understand that mistakes happen.

I’ve had Flores out to do work two times. They are prompt, do excellent work, and are very clean. If you are looking for a landscaper, I can’t say enough good things about them… especially Freddy!

I couldn’t be happier with my new beautiful lawn! I found Flores here on Unilocal and liked what I saw. They came out the very next day after I called to check out my lawn and give an estimate. I explained we had a city rebate to replace our lawn with drought resistant plants and they worked with us to come up with a design that fit our modest budget. They were quick to provide an estimate over email and all communication was great.
It took me 3 months before I was ready to start the project, but they remembered me and we picked up where we left off quick. At this point we had a tight deadline before the rebate expired, but they assured me they would finish in two days. My husband digged up the grass himself a week before to save on this cost, but they still dug up a few more inches of dirt. True to their word, the job was done fast and in two days! The work was done by two polite and fast working men and two more who came to put in the plants. They didn’t install weed barrier fabric which worried me at first, but they assured me they dug up all the top soil and laid weed killer before laying down the decomposed granite and gravel. I did some research later and found out the weed barrier fabric can actually damage your lawn in the long run.
The end results is awesome and now we have the best lawn in East LA ;) I will definitely be hiring them to do our backyard in the future! Thank you Karl!

Very satisfied customer here! While looking around for someone to replace and upgrade my driveway, Flores Landscape was recommended to me by some folks in my neighborhood. After contacting, Karl, my salesperson was at my house within 48 hours to consult, measure and help me plan out the project. The bid came quickly, wasn’t the highest, and wasn’t the lowest… but I was sold on the customer service. Demo and construction began within the week, and was completed in 2 weeks… just what was promised. Raul and crew were prompt, considerate, and very skilled at their craft. Both Karl and Raul were available to answer any questions, and worked with me on changes along the way. Karl kept in touch with updates daily, even asking if it was ok to work on weekends. Dumpsters, port-​o-​potty all were delivered, maintained and removed in a timely manner.
And as an added recommendation, I am currently working with Karl and gang on another hardscape project at the house. Happy customer!

I’m so psyched about everything Flores Landscaping did for me. I needed their help doing all the things I couldn’t realistically do myself. Freddy gave me a very reasonable quote for everything I was asking for and checked in with me throughout the work. I wanted my deck refinished, decomposed granite walkways installed, plants to stabilize my hillside, and a hog panel fence. The guys that came in every day were nice, respectful, and efficient. They did so much work so quickly, and so well, I was impressed. They’d ask me for my opinion on things, to make sure they were doing just what I wanted. The new fence is my favorite part. Every time I step outside, I swoon. I’m definitely going to use them again when I’m ready for more landscaping.

I’ve had an incredible experience working with Flores Landscaping over the past month. After taking bids, they were in the range I was looking for, and Freddy (my sales person) was knowledgable, friendly, and delivered the quotes quickly and efficiently.
The people performing the work are on time every day, respectful of the space, a pleasure to deal with.
I’ll add photos for the fence they built me as well, which is perfect! I’ve got two other projects going with them already based on their efficiency.

Couldn’t give them more stars because I did not use this company for my lawn, so my rating is based on overall customer service from beginning to end.
I found this company as I was researching for front lawn landscapers. I decided to contact Flores Landscaping via email and Daisy responded my email and with a call within a timely matter. She had one of their workers come out to my home within that same week. He showed up on the appointment time, measured, drew a sketch and I explained exactly what I want as I had a few architectural designs in mind. He asked me to email them and that he will be reviewing the square footage with the layout design and get back to me with a quote.
Overall, I decided to just go with a different company to do the work. Kindly, I got a call from the supervisor in regards to my experience with them. Nice to see that they do take customers seriously.

I fully recommend these guys. they saved me a lot of hassle. They were on time, worked with my tight scedule, ant not only delivered my ideas, but enhanced them. Plus they were even conciderate with my newborn baby. The work was quick, but not sloppy. They cleaned up after themselves also. Artscaping more than landscaping.

Wanted to update this review as we had yet ANOTHER fabulous experience with flores landscaping. Freddy our project manager has incredible customer service skills and though it took some time to get the job started (just as much our fault as we had to keep delaying due to other contractors delays). I know there have been some negative reviews out there– but seriously– these guys are total professionals. Quality, good communication, and attention to detail. You will not regret hiring them. This review is about their customer service rather than their work product as I never got to that step because of their poor communication skills. Similar to other reviewers, they were extremely slow to respond to my requests for estimates. The reason for 2 stars is because I appreciate how their representative worked with me to accommodate my budget, however, things seemed to fall apart as I asked for more detail on the different proposals that were presented to me.
I even gave them an out by asking if my budget was too low for them — which they said they can and would work with me. Because of that statement, I held off on contacting other contractors and risked the wrath of my HOA. Instead of being up front and telling me they won’t work on low budget projects, they began to completely ignore my texts and emails. I was left having to scramble last minute to find another contractor that would do the work in time to meet my HOA’s deadline and in turn, I was forced to spend more than I wanted due to their lackadaisical attitude towards their customers.
Just a word of advice to Flores Landscaping — in business (and in personal relationships), please be mature and professional and keep your customer informed about the extent of your capabilities and constraints. To do otherwise is just immature, unprofessional, and unethical. My neighbors will definitely hear about my awful experience with your company.

We had a great experience with Flores Landscaping and especially liked working with Karl. He was great at managing the day to day changes and different crews on our home project.
The plants, stone pavers, tree trimming, outdoor lighting was all part of our home landscaping project. The crews were on time, clean, courteous and very skilled.
My husband and I would highly recommend this company and their employee Karl.

For the first appointment, two guys showed up 45 minutes late, without calling. Then, I had to pursue them a week later to get an estimate. Next, I received an estimate that wasn’t remotely competitive. Finally, I asked them to price one of three three jobs separately; however, nearly three weeks later, all I’ve received is a message stating that they’re trying to work out a price.
The reason for two stars, as opposed to one, is the result of a very pleasant in-​office staff experience.

Changing my initial 1-​star review to a 5-​star because of the way Flores Landscaping remedied the situation. Here is my first review:
«I contacted Flores Landscaping last week to ask about doing some landscape cleanup and plant replacement outside of our small office building. Each time I spoke with someone from the company, I made it clear that we needed the work to be completed by a certain date and asked if they would be able to do it. Each time they assured me it would be no problem. Now, two days before the deadline, they called to inform me that they would no longer be able to fit us into their schedule and suggested that they could send out a group of unlicensed workers to complete the project instead. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy.»
A few hours after I posted this, Mariana from Flores Landscaping called me directly and sincerely apologized for the miscommunication on their part. She also offered to make it up to us by scheduling a gardening team to come out first thing in the morning to take care of the landscaping. They arrived right on time, completed everything in under 2 hours and did a beautiful job. I truly appreciate their efforts to make up for what happened and we’ll definitely be calling them again for our landscaping needs.

My husband and I got 3 quotes to do our backyard, as soon as Freddy came to our home from Flores landscape I knew that this was the company I wanted to go with.
Freddy was polite, professional but felt like family at the same time. We received our quote within 48 hours and we booked them the next day. They completed within 3 days and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. My backyard is beautiful, drought tolerant, and EXACTLY what we asked for.

After tearing up concrete in my backyard (which was entirely paved) I wavered back and forth on putting a sprinkler system into the yard before laying sod as it had not been done before and I wasn’t sure what the price tag on that would be. I decided to call some landscaping places and see what they said. Flores was my first stop and Freddy came to do the estimation. Roughly 10 minutes late to the appointment, he was very friendly and assessed the project to his best ability which ended up being far cheaper than I had anticipated. Why even bother calling anyone else? A few days later I booked the work, or at least tried to. It was a bit difficult between the office staff and Freddy who didn’t seem to communicate or call back timely. We finally jumped over that hurdle and they ended up coming the very next day! Phew!
They arrived early. They began measuring and digging trenches. Stopped and asked us a few questions, and started working. There was a glitch as the estimation wasn’t quite accurate and was only half of what the work would actually take. Awesome. However, they suggested since it wasn’t my error, they would only charge me half the second cost. I wasn’t thrilled by this, but I understood and agreed to pay it. It was still cheaper to put the system in than I had initially thought.
They worked really hard and did a great job putting in the system. They explained the timer and how it worked, but accidentally took the manual with them. Though I contacted them, I have yet to receive it. They tidied up nicely once they completed the work and the guys who installed it were really polite, and did a great job explaining everything to me.
They’ve got a few things to figure out, but wouldn’t be opposed to using them in the future.
