Furniverse

This business is unscrupulous. The website makes it appear as if it is a large size online retailer when in fact it is no more than a contracted call center, a post office box in a strip mall and glossy photos from the manufacturers. Money is held from your order for days at a time to pay the wholesalers (whom I suspect demand cash payment) while you wait for an update and/​or tracking information on your order. All the while the order has never been placed with the wholesaler. The call center has no information, your credit card company has been charged the whole amount for the order which was never placed and you are left waiting and wondering if the item will ever arrive. There is no communication, this is purposeful, so you will believe the item has been ordered and the manufacturer/​distributer is backordered or slow while all the time the cash from your transaction is funding someone else’s order in a pyramid scheme of a no cash flow business. It took multiple phone calls, texts, drive bys to see the addresses of the business (we live in the city) and the full weight of AmEX to get a refund of monies for items ordered, paid for, promised by management on the phone that were not ordered from the wholesaler for 3 weeks after being charged or shipped. This is a buyer beware warning. While they offered the lowest price, we certainly learned a hard lesson read the Unilocal reviews before ordering and trust them.

This store does not exist! If you call the # they are completely unaware of the fact that the store does not exist, such BS!

I’m so pissed right now. The delivery was fast, but one of the nightstands is missing and the dresser is damaged. They don’t answer my calls … I wish I paid more and ordered my bedroom set from a different company. Be careful!

Do not do business with this company. They will persist to get your money then never return your calls or give you information regarding the delivery of your product. The customer service line only refers you to the management direct line and can not resolve issues or provide additional details

I was hesitant about the reviews, to buy a couch from Furniverse. I chose to speak with them while ordering a couch– the T-​35 mini in black leather– gorgeous. I spoke with Art and he helped with the delivery schedule as I was moving From Florida to Wisconsin and needed my couch available for delivery at a certain time. The couch was delivered as planned TO THE DAY (about 10 days) and in excellent condition.
We were missing a glass plate for the lighted portion of the couch, (NOT a big deal)– the furniture manufacturer failed to include it. So I callled Art again and he assured me I’d receive it. It took a few weeks but alas, it arrived intact and heavy duty tempered glass like a windshield!
I trust this company whole heartedly. It may require at times, a bit of patience, so if you can’t be patient, then buy from a brick and mortar store. OH! And during this SAME time, Home Depot delayed a delivery of a new gas stove that was IN STOCK upon purchase, so this happens to even the largest and best of companies and Furniverse didn’t even delay my couch! Art stood by his company and he delivered! Thank you Art! Oh, and the price was the best on the net too.

It’s the most terrible furniture company I met. I ordered a table one month ago which they told me I can get the table in two weeks. At the beginning, I called them to ask price. After a day, a guy called me several times and asked me if I want to order the table. After comparing the price and shipping days, I ordered the table from him.
Since I gave him my credit card information, I almost disconnected with him. When I called the phone they post on the website, the customer service can never be touched. So I press «1» which is sales person, they always told me they would call me back soon, but it was never happened.
Two days ago, the warehouse called me and told me he help me schedule the delivery day, but he need some paper work from «Furniverse». However he couldn’t connect with them.
I tried call the guy who sold me the table, but it always turned into voice mail. I used my friend’s cell phone to call him again, he picked!!!
He said he would contact the warehouse person, but he didn’t do it.
DO NOT buy anything from them. How terrible the company is!!!

Unfortunately, all the negative reviews are true, should have read this before. Exactly the same pattern, you order and they charge you immediately, then nothing happens, you don’t even get a tracking number. After dozens of inquiries they promise you that it will be shipped soon but it will never and then they stop responding to your emails. When you call an operator takes your message and they never call back. I checked their rating on business bureau and it is F with many complaints filed due to non delivery of goods. I now need to dispute the transaction with my bank, so I can just recommend that you do better research when purchasing online and do never order there.

CAUTION: $ 450 or more dollars of «shipment fee» will be deducted if you return the item. I will post exactly what they wrote when I ask where is half of my refund. My purchase was $ 1,195 and I live a few cities away, not even out of state!
This is exactly what they wrote:
«Delivery fee to you was $ 250, to pick up back was additional $ 200. If you were in another state delivery to you alone wouldve cost $ 450».
So if you live out of state, $ 900 (deliver & pick up) will not be refund back to you?! I can’t believe this is happening in America. So please don’t be the next victim. Pass the words and help each other out. BUY WITH CAUTION.

It is a fake website! I ordered the sofa that was in stock, waited for a week and when I called them after a week they said that item is not in stock. Even today when I check on their website it says in stock for that item. Then I spoke to the manager there– Arp. We found the sofa that was in stock and he said it will be delivered from 10 to 12 days. Now I’ve been waiting for 3 weeks and I’ve been calling them for a week, but every time when I call they tell me there is no one to help me, they take a message and never call me back. I have no idea what happened with the sofa or my money! Do not order from this website!

I bought a $ 1600 sectional on eBay with free shipping. Definitely the cheapest price I could find anywhere by about $ 400+. Was definitely concerned about delivery time and possible fraud after reading the reviews on this site and because of a low eBay score. Ebay has a money back guarantee so I felt good about getting a refund if it ended up being fraud. Also I bought it on Bill-​Me-​Later meaning I had 6 mo. to pay it off. I figured the purchase was worth the risk. According to the eBay description, estimated delivery time was about a week. I didn’t think it would happen after reading this site. The day after placing the order, I emailed the company with an estimated delivery date and they took my phone # and said the shipping co. would call me. After a week of silence, I emailed them and asked if there was anything wrong with the order. They replied that they’d look into it and reply asap. After a couple days, they provided the tracking #. My package arrived the following week. I was pleasantly surprised. I think it’s possible the company has learned it’s lesson from the past. If there was any negative experience, it was with the shipper. They dropped one of the pieces and it’s slightly damaged but I can live with it. Also the glass piece I got didn’t match the sofa. I wouldn’t be surprised if the shipper got it mixed up with another order. Overall I’m very happy with my experience with Furniverse.

I knew about this company by surfing online. Honestly I’ve ever heard about them. That’s why I was kind of afraid because it could be a typical scam company. I took the risk because they offer really good prices. Before that I had a conversation with the sales manager, who was friendly and very approachable. I purchased my entertainment cabinet, sofa, dresser and lingerie chest all from Furniverse furniture last year. Stuff with good quality and prices too. My only complaint is about their shipping process that is pretty slow, But no matter that I’d definitely purchase from them again.

I moved in to a new place and needed some new furniture to match the rest of my décor. I purchased a bed set with nightstands and dresser. The delivery guys came and even helped out everything together. Art also helped me find a mattress that I wanted from one of his vendors for a very good price. I also bought a L shape sofa and a dining room table with chairs. The table took over a month to get delivered but he followed up and let me know that the item was backordered and was very helpful when I would call and ask for the delivery status. The reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of the time it took for my table to come, it was odd having 6 chairs and no table for a few weeks. Overall I am happy with my experience and I’m going to be contacting Art about some outdoor furniture.

It’s been several months since I ordered a sofa from Furniverse. I say ordered instead of received because it has not been delivered. Art and Furniverse have been AWOL from the «checkout,» in March.
A week after purchasing I was informed it was out of stock… Really — a week? They couldn’t just post on the Internet it was sold out?
In April I was told it would be shipped from China first week of May. And to be helpful Furniverse agreed to inform me when it was shipped and when I would receive.
Weeks later, in response to MY query Furniverse lets me know that it will be a mid may delivery. Mid-​May has come and gone… nothing. No delivery. No update on when it was shipped. Not a peep.
It’s not my style, but I have resorted to frustrated emails, because I’m upset at the lack of response. I would call, but they have outsourced phone calls to an out-​of-​state company and don’t return messages… bad form.
I have no problem waiting… I just like to keep informed. UPS and FedEx have tracking numbers for a reason. It’s not just so they know the whereabouts of your package. It’s also for Accountability. Right now Furniverse has none. I’m not a million dollar customer, but I don’t deserve to be ignored.
If confronted about these reviews Art might say something like, «Oh that’s just people on the Internet hating,» or, «I have no idea why those people are ranting on the Internet.» You might even get a, «Some people are just demanding and can’t be satisfied.» Whatever the explanation is… believe me, they are just excuses.
I would never recommend Furniverse to anyone — not friends, not family, and not Unilocalers. Heck, I wouldn’t even recommend this company to my enemies.
Steer clear and find another store for that piece you are looking for!

This seems to be a popular sentiment with this place, but it bares repeating… IF I COULD GIVE FURNIVERSE 0 STARS, I WOULD.
It is a complete amateur operation. I have been waiting 3 months for my sofa. When I ordered it, it was out of stock even though the website said it was in stock. Professional operations would at the very least contact a client and let them know. Furniverse did NOTHING. They have been terrible communicators. We typically have to email and call many many times before we get a response. They promised our sofa would be delivered by May 15 but now it is May 23 and we haven’t heard from anyone about a delivery. Art keeps saying he’ll give us answer but can never manage to return and report anything conclusive.
Don’t walk away from Furniverse – RUN. I don’t think it is a stretch to label this company as down-​right liars.

I was searching for a sectional for the longest time and they had it here. The salesman named Art was very helpful! When they didn’t have the sofa I wanted in stock, they offered me free setup just for the inconvenience of having to wait an extra week. I couldn’t be happier with my sofa! Thank you so much!

I was a little concerned about this company because of communication. At first when I called, I reached an answering service and my calls weren’t promptly returned. However, when I did speak with a sales representative, Art, he was very helpful and efficient. The price he gave me was far better than any other price I found online. My order was immediately taken care of and I had my big dramatic Messina chair within a week. The chair was very well packed and arrived in perfect condition. The driver from the shipping company was very nice and helpful. The chair is totally glam gorgeous… every bit as nice as the pictures I had seen! Despite my initial reservations, overall this purchase went extremely well. I absolutely would recommend Furniverse and Art.
