Food was terrible! If I want instant noodles, I make them myself… Very little meat a just no taste at all. Definitely not worth it!

Got the dipped ramen and the Katsudon. The soup base have garlic butter base. Yumm. Ramen noodles are bouncy and not overcooked or too mealy. Egg has a nice goopy center that melts in your mouth. Katsudon have nice crispy skin and the meat wasnt dry. Not too salty and the egg wasnt too sweet. Rice not overcooked and nice and fluffy. The place is clean. Nice, small and has a family restaurant feel to it. Service was fast and the place is quiet. However, slightly secluded since it is on the second floor and parking varies from being easy to packed parking.

Didn’t mind the small dining area or the large crowds waiting patiently for their turn at the tables. That’s part of the atmosphere at most popular ramen places. But I must admit it does get quite annoying when there’s a gaggle of people hovering above you, invading your personal space as you’re trying to eat your food. Not sure why the management allows this to happen when there’s ample space outside for the waiting crowd. I had the house ramen. Noodles were decent. Nothing exceptional. However, their fried rice needs some looking into. The carrots tasted slimy and the bits of fish cake they tossed into the mix really didn’t belong in there. That was the deal breaker for me. Most notable ramen places take pride in perfecting their fried rice recipe. The one at Futaba seemed like an afterthought. I frequent many ramen places throughout the SoCal area, always giving them a fair break. Most operate on a very high benchmark and they keep up with those exacting standards. Futaba seems like an establishment content with their mediocrity. They simply do not want to put any effort in making things better. Their motto would best read, «Take it or leave it.»

I’m giving them a 4⁄5 because I’ve been here before and have always liked the food. It’s a cozy little place so don’t come with a big group. They have a good range of broths, but I like the Futaba.(My brother got the combo with fried rice but none of us cared for it. So stick to the ramen.) The service isn’t great, but I don’t really need much once I get my food so I don’t mind. Today though was different. We came at 9 and they close at 9:30. Upon entering we were informed that they were closing in 30 mins… understood. We ordered right away. The Takoyaki came first(which was really good), and the rest shortly after. They told us it was a last call but we didn’t want anything else. We barely even started on our ramen and we were given our check. I found it a little rude seeing as how there was a table next to us just sitting and chatting and they weren’t being rushed out. We ended up leaving by closing after all. Like I said I’ve been here before and I’ve always liked it, but I wouldn’t recommend coming too late.

It was a cold rainy morning so I decided to have some ramen for lunch. I sat at the short counter in back and ordered the Futaba and mixed tempura. The tempura was good but nothing special. The ramen arrived in a large bowl and was tasty mix of ramen noodles, some sprouts, a quarter hard boiled egg, a slice of fish cake, and 3 slices of roasted pork. The restaurant is tiny and located upstairs above Panda Express. As I sat numerous people came in and waited just inside the door as it was raining outside. Futaba is a very popular destination with the CSUN crowd. If you don’t want to wait for a table get there as soon as they open.

The Ramen here was very good! Excellent prices too I got a side of 4 goyoza with mine and it came with a mini salad for the combo I ordered, which was about 12 $ and non combo is about 8 $. A single bowl of ramen is just right for one person because it fills you up ! I came here with a group of 6 people. The restaurant is pretty small so it’s probably best to go with smaller groups.

I LOVE this place. Am I some ramen connoisseur? No. Am I some ramen snob? Nope. A newbie to the game? Prolly, prolly not. It doesn’t matter though cause when you’re on MYBLOCK, this is the joint to hit up. THEJOINT! A teeny tiny place located up the stairs at some odd strip mall type-of lot. You better hope it’s not a full house so you can sit & enjoy their ramen. If not then you can sit on my lap. And get the combo while you’re at it. Comes with a little salad & a small teriyaki bowl or karashi bowl. For under 15 bucks you get a full meal. A complete dinner AND you don’t even have to pay for parking. How about that, huh!?! Tonkatsu ramen: 8⁄10 — Good for valley and enough for ramen fix, but not great. — Size: Average portion — Meat: Tasted a little old — $ 8.25 Chicken Kaarage: 00⁄10 –DONOTGET. It’s like soggy, greasy chicken nuggets. SERIOUSLY -$ 8 or 9 dollars when other places are like $ 6.50 for GOOD kaarage. Service: 1st time slow(it was busy on Fri 7pm night). 2nd time attentive(but not many people on Tuesday 12pm) Atmosphere: SMALL place so it will take a long time to get seated during busy hours. Note: I freaking LOVE ramen and my favorite is Daikokuya on Sawtelle, where the meat and egg are so good and the broth is not salty msg.

First off, this place is tiny, be prepared to wait. I’ve only had the tonkatsu ramen here — which is really why I go — there aren’t that many options in northwest SFV. Thankfully, the ramen here is really good and more than suffices. Yes you can battle traffic to get some top notch ramens in the South Bay area, but short of that, this is near the top of the list.

Stopped by for a quick lunch with a coworker. I had the the Futaba(tonkotsu) ramen and added the side of curry with rice. After ordering you are brought a side salad as well as some bean sprouts. The bean sprouts were good, but the salad was overdressed and really salty. Pretty much everything about my bowl of ramen was disappointing. Noodles were not fully cooked and the broth was extremely bland. The curry was also lacking in flavor. Service is also nonexistent.

My wife and I came here, she was craving soup, ramen, phở, etc. so we decided to try this place, we both ordered spicy ramen and it was amazing. Great taste, great flavor, and it was enough to fill me up which is rare. Location is hidden it’s upstairs on top of Panda Express, and place is small so don’t show up with a party of 4+ might have some trouble getting seated. Other than that place is amazing, and pricing is good. definitely recommend it. 5 Stars well Deserved!!!

Got the Tonkatsu ramen. It was good, not great. Average portion sizes. The service was also whatever. Not necessarily bad, but our server was kinda forgetful. Again, decent but not great. Overall I’d say three stars is fitting for this place.

This is a cozy place. Would not recommend if you have more than 4 people. The environment is comforting and traditional. The salad they give is made with a bomb ginger dressing. I got the katsudon(but my go to is the chicken katsu curry! I love curry and chicken katsu) But my katsu don was quite delicious. I’ve had katsu don back home in San Jose and it is pretty similar. The katsu retained the moisture really well. And all the flavors and textures were present as well. My friend got the fried rice. He said it was good. He really enjoyed the vast amount of aromas. Green onions, fish cakes, chicken and egg mmmmm. My other friend got the tonkotsu ramen(what they’re know for). It was a bit salty but overall it was quite authentic. 5⁄5 always good service too

So delicious! It was my first time trying ramen, and now I’m addicted. The place is really really small, and I wish it was twice the size, but the wait was really short, and the food was worth the wait. I tried the appetizer chicken, and the miso shoup with grilled chicken. So far one of the best soups I’ve had in the valley. We went here just to try a new place, and now it’s one of my favorites. A must for ramen lovers.

I got the Chasumen Ramen with the soy sauce bass and the fried rice which is really yummy. My boyfriend got the miso base which is a lot lighter and tastier. His gyoza it was delicious as well. The food came really fast despite the lack of servers for the whole place. I will return because it’s next to a boba place!

Came here with a good friend after craving Ramen and Udon noodles. The restaurant is tucked away up top next to a boba shop and was tricky to find. On a friday night they had a pretty consistent line of people waiting to get in.. The udon noodle soup, however, was average with okay noodles and very bland broth. The chicken side was also very tasty(wish I knew how to spell/say it). I decided to go with the spicy Ramen Soup it was so flavorful with just the perfect amount of spice(I am a weakling and could not of handled more.) I would definitely recommend it.

***You can’t really see a «Futaba» sign from the parking lot, which is really confusing and GPS was showing me «Boba My Tea» as the address and you can only see«Boba My Tea» from the parking lot. However, walk up the stairs towards the boba place and there’s a little sign for Futaba, to left left of «Boba My Tea.» Really good across the board. We had udon with mixed tempura, ramen, chicken karage, teriyaki chicken and rice. Everything was as expected expect for the chicken teriyaki which was probably the best I’ve had in a long time. $ 2 for a can of soda is lame though.

For a long time, I thought this was just another mediocre ramen place. Finally today we were craving ramen and we decided to check this place out. This small restaurant was located inside a plaza. Parking is not hard! There are plenty. I didn’t know how small this restaurant was until we walked inside. There were probably like 8 tables cramped into a small place. I went in the afternoon so it wasn’t as crowded. We ordered the Futaba Tonkotsu ramen combo with a small teriyaki rice bowl. The guy server was really nice and was prompt as well. Okay so why I like this ramen place is because 1) They have the garlic paste. I know, call it a blasphemy, but some places that I have been to doesn’t have it. Or maybe I just need to ask, I don’t know. 2) They have a special sauce for their side salad. Some places use thousand island but not this place! I live for this salad sauce whatever it is! 3) the broth is good. I wouldn’t say it is like Silverlake Ramen(loveee their broth!!) 4) They have the swirly fish cake! Ahh I love those cute little things inside my ramen. The food was good and I highly enjoyed it. I will be coming back to this little hidden gem in the valley.

Small little ramen shop that is hidden from the busy streets of Northridge. There’s six tables in the entire restaurant. Seating is tight but the food is on point! I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and asked for it to be spicy. The waitress brought out cooked and lightly spicy bean sprouts before my ramen came out. Yum! The broth is rich, spicy, and not too oily. The noodles are wavy and was cooked pretty al dente. Egg yolk was cooked perfectly! The two generous pieces of chasu was soft and melt in your mouth. I like how the ramen came with seaweed, half an egg, bamboo shoots, and a small piece of fish cake. It’s a steal for the price considering most ramen spots charge per topping nowadays. I was STUFFED and my belly was really happy. Our waitress seemed super stressed out. She was prompt with bringing everything we needed but looked really mad the entire time. I will be back for more delicious ramen when I’m in the area!
