How can you beat getting your hair shampooed along with a great haircut for only $ 10??? Did I say that Gino Hair Mode is only a few steps away from my apartment? It’s located on the western limits of Koreatown by the Han Kook Market and Paris Baguette. Both of the hairdressers here are very friendly. Both are good too! I got my haircut by the lady that charges more too. I used to get this really good Italian hair product here before for $ 35 but they don’t sell it anymore :(Now, you can get some good Korean hair product for much less. The place looks nice and it’s close to some really tasty establishments. Please note that one of the hairdressers charges about $ 20 or so! I rarely have to wait to get my haircut! I’ve come at different times of the day and this is always the case. My only complaint is that my hairdresser is cash only now :( Street parking is usually available on 1st and Western.

Usual go to place for my haircuts since it’s close to my work. One lady charges $ 10 for men’s haircut and the owner charges $ 20. Since I just tend to get a fade I have the lady that charges $ 10 to cut my hair since I’m not all into details. Service is pretty quick and enough seating to wait around if necessary. They are very patient with kids too! Both ladies are funny and keep you entertained with all the gossips and daily news related talks.

Worst place ever! First of all they do what they want to do with your hair. They do not cut it the way you ask. EVENWHENYOUBRING A PICTUREANDAREVERYSPECIFIC! They are a bit racist towards people that aren’t their kind(Korean) and they make it mandatory to give them a tip. Whether you like it or not! Save yourself the money and time, but most importantly SAVEYOURHAIR!

«see-through bangs» are in right now in Korea so I decided to get them done here. I went to Étude before and paid more than 40 dollars for the same cut so I was planning on getting a trim. To be honest, her cut was a little different(the owner, Helen) what I had expected because it ended up becoming more straighter and blunter than the usual see through bang style. However, I ended up liking it more because it framed my face better. She also fixed the hair in my sideburns(i didn’t have side burn hair) and when I would put my hair up my hair used to look a little awkward. I’ve never gotten advice to purposefully create messy stringy side burn hair so I was a little hesitant but she knew what she was doing and I ended up loving it. For 30 dollars, you can get a haircut, and she definitely knows what she’s doing. It was prompt as well. I didn’t even make an appointment and I only waited about 20 minutes. I will be back for another trim/haircut. As with any hair places, bring a picture! It helps.

I’ve been coming to get my hair styled/cut/permed etc by the same stylist since I was a weeeeee little baby. The stylist is the same person who also owns this business, and what can I say? She’s an absolute sweetheart with a true gift for styling. Seriously– the best in town and at a decent price! I’ve had her style my hair for my high school prom, my high school dances, my sorority informal and formal events(sort of like prom except an event held for new members’ glory), and even for my cousin’s wedding reception. And my mother who handles all the cash flow in our family, almost always approves of the curly pretty updos every time. Things you can do to ensure you have a good experience here: 1. Set an appointment a good week in advance. Try to get a morning slot so that you can account for possible trouble finding parking in the ridiculously tiny lot/possible lag time in case she has a customer before you. And let her know in advance if you want to do a stylish updo for an event/coloring etc. It’s just nice to let them know in advance. 2. Bring a good book! sometimes, even with appointments, she may not be able to get to styling your hair right on the dot. That’s okay — she’s extra efficient during the time she is handling your hair :) 3. Anticipate being surrounded by Korean Ahjummas on certain days. It’s okay– ahjummas love having their hair done for beauty and personal hygiene purposes so having the presence of these crazy chatterboxes is a good thing. it means she appeals to a wide range of customers. 4. If you want an updo, bring a picture! and preferably a few panoramic photos of the updo you want! It will help her get a visual idea of what you’d like, and ensure that you may get what you request. I’ll post up photos of the updos I’ve had before. :) seriously consider getting your hair styled here girls if you have yet to find a good place and don’t want to fork up 50+ dollars on a hair updo at a super fancy hair salon!

I’ve been coming here for the past 6 years. I tried going to other places in Koreatown but it’s just never the same. I simply walk in and tell her to chop away. She’s a pro when it comes to coloring and cutting my hair. Each time I left more than satisfied and the best part is, I rarely have a bad hair day after going to her salon. I especially love how my hair color doesn’t fade instantly and still has that vibrant glow. Make sure to get your hair done by the owner! You won’t regret it.

prices is at $ 15 now before tip. they didn’t tell me until i was about to pay. call me a cheapskate but i don’t think this place is anything special to be worth $ 15, especially in ktown where $ 8 cuts are dime a dozen. unless you are super picky, save yourself some dough and go elsewhere.

Awesome stylist. Ok, my hair isn’t that important to me and I have had friends that tell me I need to get a new look, but whatever, I don’t really care as long as I look alright. And this place is awesome for a number of reasons. The owner is great. I have only had my hair cut by her and she is good at what she does. I have an odd shaped head according to other places I have gotten my hair cut and this one does a good job of dealing with my odd head. And usually, I like my hair cut right after it is cut but after two weeks, not happy with it. But here, I feel like I like my hair right after but even as it grows out, I stil like it. I am no hair master and not all that into my looks but think this place does a good job. When you go in, they have you change into one of their gowns which was a first for me. I guess it is nice to keep your clothes from getting hair on them. Once, she gave me this head massage which was definitely strange but at the same time relaxing. Also, she is just really nice. Give them a try. The one caveat is I don’t know how good her english skills are, but being fairly young, I am assuming she speaks some. I am korean and speak korean so this isn’t a problem for me. And on a side note, she totally offerred to set both my brother and me up with people.(Might be a korean thing, but this isn’t that uncommon). And the funny thing is that I told her about how my brother also gets his hair cut here after I told him to go there, a brother who looks nothing like me at all, and after about five minutes, she asks me if my brother works at Universal which he does and I asked how did she know which guys was my brother and she said the hair on the side of our heads are similar. Odd but shows her mastery of hair. In case you are wondering, for guy’s hair cut, it is about $ 20 plus whatever you want to tip which I think is reasonable. Close to Paris Baguette too for a tasty snack before/after.
