I found this company through craigslist and when I got in touch with them (Asia was the rep for my project) I felt completely comfortable and I liked what they were offering. On the phone call prior to the start of the project, where we talked about everything that I wanted and they could do, everything sounded great. And I asked for a detailed email with everything we talked about and they were a good sport about doing that. I read through the contract and signed it and began the project.
That’s where I was naïve and thought that everything we had talked about would be part of the project. Should have read the contract word by word, analyzed it, and studied it further more.
My website is a template they bought, and didn’t bother to change A SINGLE THING. I can look up the them and my website looks EXACTLY like it, except with my info and the few personal touches I’ve been adding on myself. Had I wanted my website to look like a bunch of other websites out there, I wouldn’t have spent $ 599 on this project. And this I only found out about because I was trying to find the CSS file and I came across several files saying my website is a template. And this was at the point where Asia was trying to sign off on my project even though I still felt there were a few things to be done and I would get a new idea to implement. Now I understand they have to make money and other developers out there buy templates, but they ALWAYS customize it, not leave it as is.
Another issue that I had with them and I tried to now dwell on it was sort of a language barrier. Sometimes I would request things and I thought it was a very straight forward thing and two things happened, 1. it would be ignored or 2. I would be asked to explain. I didn’t mind doing that but after things began to get sour, that became an issue.
Once GLNSynergy felt that my project was done, they kept on pushing me to close the project and to start the 1 month of support. I tried to explain that I didn’t feel comfortable doing so and Asia still pushed. That’s when things got ugly. I don’t want to get into details but it was said that they had spent a lot more time on my project than usual, and effort, and whatnot, and when I would ask for help on things I would get curt replies and not much help.
That’s when I decided to take time to step back and regroup before getting into a nasty conflict that was unnecessary. And during that time I had other things to tend so I wasn’t actively using the internet/​emails and I got an email from Asia saying that they had done the last of my request and that they were revoking the last payment and that they wished me luck. At that point, I didn’t even reply, there was no point.
Now, I’ve been on my own trying to deal with the mess that they left behind. Trying to fix the things they left not working. And trying to find a developer who actually cares about the work they’re putting out there and are actually accessible at helping their customers resolve their issues. I wish I hadn’t wasted my money with GLNSynergy because it was not worth $ 599 and now I have to go pay someone else to do website or fix the mess they left behind.
I wish everyone luck who’s going to do business with GLNSynergy. And I wish GLNSynergy the best and hope that they’ll learn from our bad experience and strive to do better than just mediocre work.
