I wasn’t able to find much direction to this place online. I suggest you park around the greek theatre and take the trail across from it. I think it’s called the Riverside Trail Keep walking along and once you see a little hill walk up and the helipad should be right there. It’s a pretty quick hike, with not a lot of shade, but mostly flat terrain. There’s a cute view of DTLA in the distance.

Great views and nice area to hike to, stop for a break, or even picnic. I love the Griffith Park trails because they are dog friendly and well maintained. There are a number of trails that take you to the helipad, so take your pick! I usually park by The Greek and take the trail across the street which I believe is the Riverside Trail.

The pave road to get there is pretty much full of potholes and cracks, and most of them are are big enough to twist your ankle. So, when you jog up there, I recommend you take the dirt hiking trail so you won’t be rolling on your ankles and falling off your asses. So you pretty much have to watch the ground the whole time. So, it is better if you just walk. A very bad spot for cyclist to go downhill because the road is really bad and you are more likely to bounce in your balls/ovaries because of those cracks and falling rocks. I recommend you bring a friend if you are going to take the pave road, because I sometimes see some sexual predators lurking around behind them bushes, and ready to jump out of nowhere to grope some asses quickly, and make a run for it. Do not chase them, because you might twist your ankle due to the poor road and you will be vulnerable. You can hear the electric lines is about to burst and see a number of dead electrified squirrels and birds along the bushes. I give them two stars due to the fact that is a really good place to plant your medicinal plants to hide them from the popo.

The rumor that accompanies this helipad is that all the Superheroes that get injured during the filming of movies nearby get airlifted here for repair. They say, I’m not sure if it’s true, that there is a hidden ER/OR in Griffith Park that is obviously very exclusive(oh em gee, like it’s LA, everything is exclusive). Great place to hike to, and it has a great view of LA. Check it out sometime and remember that it’s made for helicopters so watch your head.

The Helipad exists! I have wondered where this area was, and sure enough on the trails above the Griffith Park golf course… voila! It’s such a cool break spot between the trails, or to have a picnic and watch the sunset, or just to sit and chat. The views are elaborate and serene. This trail is busy but not like the Mt Hollywood or Observatory trail, and fluctuates in inclines/declines. There isn’t that much tree cover, so when its sunny, it becomes very warm so wear layers. However, after the Helipad, you will find an extension of the trail with plenty of trees providing shade and comfort. That trail leads further down the mountain on the East side. There is nothing like exploring and being outside enjoying the sunshine! Bring your kids, bring your dogs but keep em on a leash!
