So I had to write about this horrible vet (Chris white) whom I met this morning. I had scheduled an appt to have my cat sedated and groomed with the «lions shave» which I’ve been doing every summer for prob 10 years now.) He came in and without even examining my cat, he told me I should give my cat a blood test to make sure he was ok for sedation. Perfectly understandable. What was SO not ok was that he then proceeded to tell me that the last person who didn’t hv this test done «I killed his cat bc the cat had kidney disease.» When he saw the look of horror on my face, he backpedaled and said, «well, he didn’t really die-​he just took a really long time to recover from the sedation.» I then showed him the paperwork from another vet who also wanted me give my cat a full blood panel and asked him if this was the test he wanted to run. His response?!! He got all flustered and ACTUALLY said «I don’t know, I don’t know.» Did he even go to vet school???
If u care about your baby the way I do-​run far, far away from this pseudo vet!!!

First time visit today with my 18 year old cat. They were so nice and sweet with him. Prices were really reasonable. This is my new Vet now !!!

I came here for the first time to get a 2^nd diagnosis for my dog Bella. The first vet said my dog needed to have surgery right away. I had a funny feeling about that. I took Bella here since it was around the corner from my house. I have to say the staff esp. Anthony was very welcoming and very professional. He even offered me coffee. As for Dr. WHITE, I can tell what a humble doc he is. He took Bella lime his own. What doc tells you text me to let me know how Bella is progressing. By the way for now he said he didnt see why she needed to do the surgery. For now he recommended Bella meds and for me to text him with her prognosis on a daily basis. I give this place a hundred stars! Thank you to all the staff for making me feel welcomed and comfortable!

Dr White has truly impressed me, my pup went through a lot with his suture reaction but after today he will be 100% healthy again! After our struggling with this issue Dr White offered to perform another surgery and remove the sutures causing the reaction. He was very genuine and gave me all the information I needed (including a pamphlet on dog suture allergies). He worked around my schedule to get my pup back to full health as soon as possible, I appreciate this level of care so much!

The staff always makes you feel so welcomed, it’s great feeling kindness as soon as you walk in!
The DR is great, you can tell he’s a real dog /​pet lover. Not just a business owner, though it is a business and you will be sold things as «precaution». But I’d rather be safe than sorry & my little pup is work every penny!
Gladly will continue to bring her back :)

There is no way we can ever repay Dr. White for his superb care of our animals. We have known him since our 15-​year-​old Labrador Retriever was near his end. Dr. White was thoughtful and suggested an administration of steroids when we thought our beloved Jasper required euthanasia. His considerate recommendation gave us more quality time with this member of our family.
To put this in perspective, we visited other veterinary clinics that wanted to do major surgery on an animal that was very old (and keep him in a crate for six months!)…it appeared that these veterinarians were motivated by monetary gains over the animal’s well-​being.
For Dr. White’s willingness to explore options with us, from invasive interventions with limited chances of success to palliative care, without the unfortunate guilt trip some clinics thrive on, we will always love Dr. White. We felt fully informed of our options, even if it would mean a referral to another animal hospital. Dr. White has always been respectful, caring, and well-​informed in his interactions with us.
We have worked with Dr. White for about three years. We have three rescue dogs that we love. Dr. White has always been available for consultation and his dedication to our dog’s health has clearly been his top priority.
It is rare in today’s world to find a veterinarian that is fully invested in the care of animals without the pressure to reach quotas for certain lucrative procedures.
We have recommended Dr. White to at least 20 people who all share our love for him. These people may not Unilocal but they too are totally dedicated to him as their veterinarian.
Thank you Dr. White for being our veterinarian. We feel supported and we know that our dog’s well-​being always comes first with you.
Dr. White is truly the best there is!

Went on a Wednesday my first time there just heard about the vaccine day. Even though you need an appointment they squeezed my Lucky boy in. He got his third set of shots and his nails trimmed in a matter of 10 minutes we were out!!! Very nice, clean, quick and thorough!

Dr White is such an animal lover. He is exactly what you would want a vet to be. Compassionate, focused, attentive, accessible and caring. Helpful too. He is amazing in the office but he makes himself available to you in emergencies, even if they seem urgent for you only. I have asked for help with a possum on my staircase, fear he would get hurt or hurt us. Had no idea who to call at an odd hour to ask for help or advice so I called him. He had not even met me at this stage and was willing to offer his assistance whilst taking his son to school to swing by and help the little possum out. Ever so tenderly picking him up and putting him away safely. With a smile on his face and a bid good day. It meant the world to me and that little animal. Years later during a very big emergency late Friday night when I came across a stray, sick cat hours before I was to leave town. I needed to find someone who would take the cat in ASAP my regular contacts weren’t responding so late in the night. I was so nervous, I thought I’d just try my luck and see if the vet had any contacts on organizations that he was familiar with. He responded fairly quick with what little he had after 10pm on a Friday night, that little bit from him helped me out tremendously early next morning. Putting aside the unusual help I have asked this vet for, he has always pulled through, in the office he really genuinely wants what is best for your pet. I have been meaning to write this review for ages but life always gets in the way so I finally put in effort to truly give credit where it is so deserved. Sadly I have left Pedro and moved to Washington and now I seek a new vet. Right now I wish to read a comment about an amazing vet in my new neighborhood. I know I will find one as efficient, professional, capable and loving as Dr White. I so hope I do. The bar is set really, really high. Every pet and owner seriously deserve the comfort of having a vet as amazing as Dr White.

We saw Dr. Lepere today for Sassy’s dental cleaning. Sassy is an elderly Maltese that our neighbor «inherited» after she was abandoned by the previous tenant of his home. We all pitch in and help with her care because she has terrible teeth (due to years of neglect) and has all of the standard Maltese maladies. Dr. Lepere and the staff at Harbor Pines were extremely courteous and very gentle with Sassy. I could sense Dr. Lepere’s genuine concern for Sassy during the consultation, and her bedside manner is amazing. I was told to pick her up «any time after 5 pm» and was so touched when I returned to find a technician cradling Sassy in her arms and doting on her (who obviously had no idea when I would be coming in… it was just a beautiful gesture to keep Sassy comfortable).
The estimate was fair and reasonable (we have taken several dogs to many vets and are familiar with the price of these procedures), and the final bill was on the low range of the estimate, which was a very pleasant surprise.
Thank you Dr. Lepere and everyone who made Sassy’s visit so pleasant given the circumstances. You really are a special team.

Sorry to say that I did not have a good experience with Dr. White. He recommend blood work and x-​rays for my cat that was vomiting a lot and had a decreased appetite after what I perceived to be a less than thorough examination. I told them that I’d like to do the blood tests right away and if they didn’t show any possible reason for her current symptoms we could do the x-​ray. The blood work is supposedly done in house so I expected my results very quickly. Instead I had to call and ask for them after not hearing back. Dr, White did call me back with the results on the day I called and told me that nothing was noted in the blood work and that if she weren’t feeling well on Monday he would recommend hospitalization (no mention of the x-​rays). He also stated that he did not believe that her condition would worsen. Well it did.
His website notes that all medications are provided at prices that equal to or are lower than those provided by one of the online sites (like vet depot or one of those). I looked this up (I could not check again the site they referred to on the webpage because I got a 404 error when trying to view it). He had overcharged me on every single medication. Sometimes exponentially so.
I decided that I needed to take my cat in to Dr. Martin who is all the way on the Westside but totally amazing. During the physical examination he saw the floss stuck to her tongue, did the x-​rays and got a surgery scheduled for me for the very next day.
I have to note that Dr. White went to Ross University. This is a program in the Caribbean that caters to those who cannot get into reputable schools in the US and this is my second encounter with one of their graduates who simply lack the training, experience and/​or gift that is required to be a diagnostician. I should have checked that before going to see him, but with all of the positive Unilocal reviews, I forgot.
Even though I waited over an hour past our appointment time, he is very personable and I believe that has led people to leave positive reviews, but I don’t need someone to be nice to me; I need someone who can diagnose my cats’ illnesses and provide accurate direction on treatment options.
In response to the office manager, I did receive a private message from Matt, but simply have nothing to discuss with him. All of my reviews are authentic and I am not interested in negotiating a higher rating for a review. My sole purpose is to warn other animal guardians about this vet’s lack of skills. Customers can look online for themselves to see if they are getting the low prices on meds promised on the website, but I would hate for anyone to go through what I went through or worse yet, lose a pet thanks to sub par medical care.

Dr. White is a wonderfully compassionate vet! I had never heard of a vet making house calls, until a client told me about Dr. White. We had to put down one of our dogs today, and Dr. White came to the house and gave us all the time we needed. I’m happy to say that we have finally found a great vet who genuinely cares and isn’t all about the money! Thank you Dr. White!
Ps: the staff is nice and friendly as well!

Have taken dog for allergies to so many different vets but the doctors here treat your pet very well they’re pretty companionate. I’ll be rescheduling to keep up with my dogs improvement

Doctor White is awesome. He’s seen my 2 girls since before he opened his practice. Has a mobile vet too. Always honest and shows how passionate he is about what he does. Shows how much he really cares about your best friends

Dr. Chris White is a wonderful, compassionate man when it comes to animals. He helped us with our elderly cat… from diagnosis to eventually putting him down… all in the comfort of our own home. What a wonderful concept.
Thank you again, Chris, for being so patient and understanding. You are our ONLY vet from now on!

If I could rate this place with more stars I would. After shopping at Fresh & Easy, my sister realized she left her keys in her car. As we waited in the hot sun for AAA with a four year old & one month, a man came outside and offered us water. My niece was getting hungry so I gave her applesauce. I was on my phone not even paying attention and she spilled in on her pants. One of the workers gave us a spoon and napkins, which I thought was really helpful. Maybe 3 minutes later a lady invited us to sit inside with our cart while we waited. One of the worker that was at the front desk even put on Harry Potter and made small talk. I was so impressed on how nice the whole staff was and from this experience I’m even thinking about talking my pup here.

My dog Vegas and cat Monster have been patients of dr. white since he was strictly mobile and we happily followed him to his beautiful. New office! I can’t tell you HOW ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL CARING KIND and INFORMATIVE dr. White is!!! HANDS DOWN the best vet in the business! He is so kind with the animals and he explains everything so well so you truly understand what’s going on and why you would need the procedure he suggests etc… I just can’t say enough about him! My dog vegas hated the vet I used to go to! Her nickname was «the land shark» by the other vets office they would have to muzzle her! But not with dr. white! She doesn’t even bark! He’s better than
little!

Dr. White is such a caring veterinarian. He takes his time with you and he educates you about your pet’s situation. I trust Dr. White with my dogs because he’s very knowledgeable and shows that he cares for your loving animals. He’s such a hard working individual that just wants to help you and your pet. Dr. White also offers mobile services which is very useful for clients that can’t drive, &have geriatric pets, have cats that you can’t catch and won’t go inside the carrier, or they just get stressed out easily. His services are reasonably priced. I recommend him to my family and friends. Thank you Dr. White and staff for taking care of my dogs.

It was wonderful finding this place regardless of the circumstances. Our 16 year old Border Collie mix had a growth on her snout (about the size of a ping pong ball). Our normal Vet was afraid of getting involved in this surgery as it involved anesthesia and with a 16 year old, it’s not safe. Harbor Pines not only had more modern equipment made specifically for issues like this, but they knew new techniques in twilight anesthesia that is much safer.
It’s been 2 months since this surgery and there are no scars on her face. Maya is truly happier, much happier after having the growth removed.

Dr. White Rocks. I’ve used him since he was strictly a mobile vet. I was happy that he opened his offices very near my home. The facility is nice and always clean. Dr. White is awesome with your animals and is willing to discuss all options — not a vet that pushes the expensive way to do things. Willing to do research if your issue is not something he has vast experience with. I’ve had him deal with day to day vet care emergency issues and he is always very responsive and great to deal with. He also helped me with stress issues with one of my dogs, trying a prescription med first then moving me to a non regulated food additive — which is working GREAT.
I also have dog massage people, a behaviorist and he is always willing to share info and welcomes input.
Even my scardy dog who used to piddle in the room the minute he saw the vet (Of course it’s my biggest dog) likes Dr. While and no more piddles in the office!

Saint or Dr. White?
Had an emergency with my boyfriend’s cat «Mr. Kip» last night and sure enough Dr. White to the rescue!
I called the number listed and I was greeted warmly by Dr. White. I explained that Mr. Kip had a very swollen left cheek and it seemed to be infected. Dr. White explained to me that if left untreated things could get worse. Dr. White kindly obliged to meet with me so we can get Kip in better shape.
During the procedure of extracting out the Infection, he was as gentle as can be, considering it was a somewhat painful procedure for Kip.
Kip just sat in his lap while he was giving him antibiotics, and pain meds like they were old buds :-)
I’m so happy to say I came home from work today to find Mr. Kip walking around and greeted with me cheerful meows. He is looking and feeling better!
I highly recommend Dr. White to all the pet lovers in the San Pedro/​RPV area!
