Amazing community with great programming and coaching. Everything you need in a crossfit gym without the elitism. Open and welcoming to a wide range of abilities and goals. I’ve been to many gyms over the last 5 years and of course many coaches, including some that have placed in the games. Check it out if you’re interested in joining or just visiting.

I’ve been to a lot of Crossfit boxes across the country and HP Crossfit is one of my favorites. Jose is a fantastic coach. The programming is well thought out and intense. At the same time, all the WOD’s can be modified if needed. There is a very strong community here at HPCF, which makes it so fun to spend time there. There are athletes of all levels and there is the perfect blend of healthy competition and extreme support for one another. I would highly recommend HPCF to any athlete, whether a Crossfit veteran or someone looking to get started!

I’ve always incorporated CrossFit type workouts in my own workouts. Basically, it’s high intensity workouts adding weights or simply use body weight. My friend is a member of this box and invited me to join in one day. I took his offer to give CrossFit a try. I’ve always wanted to see how well I can perform. Thanks to coach Jose for welcoming me into his class.
It was definitely an awesome work out, especially so early in the morning. Coach Jose is awesome. He takes the time to correct your stands and posture. You must know how to lift properly so you don’t injure yourself. He’s very encouraging and just a friendly person to get along with. Everyone is welcoming and supports each other. That’s a great feeling.

Great instructors to teach and guide you to execute every exercise correctly. For a couple years now I’ve been wanting to try out the whole crossfit thing and I have to say I am very very happy here! Great people the positive energy and attitude everyone brings helps a lot and make you want to just keep going

I am proud to say that I am the first graduate of HPCF’s foundations class. This box opened up December 2013 and their first foundations classes started Feb. 17. I did my first WOD in January to try out Crossfit after being bored with my regular globo gym routine. I had a trainer at LA Fitness for a year so I had a tiny bit of muscle and physical activity before completing my first WOD. I can tell you right now, you can be going to the gym religiously to try and prep for crossfit, but your first WOD is always humbling and it will bring you to your knees! It was a little bit scary at first and when I saw what the wod was for that day I had second guessed my athletic abilities. Coach Lorena introduced herself and being it was her Birthday we were doing her Birthday WOD. I had told her I had some injuries to my knees and ankles and that instead of running I will row instead. That’s the thing about crossfit, all the exercises can be scaled down for you, it doesn’t matter if you are weak in certain areas or if you have injuries, the point is you scale down if you need to. Let’s just say after my first WOD, I walked like a duck for a few days, but the feeling of accomplishment lasted for a looong time! And its that feeling of doing something that I thought I couldn’t do is what got me into crossfit. Every time I come in and complete a WOD I learn something new about myself and I say to myself, ” Last year, I couldn’t even do that! And here I am doing it for 5 rounds!”
I started the foundations course in February 17 and my graduation date was Feb. 28^th. Feb. 28^th was also the first day of the Crossfit Open. Although I was not able to complete 14.1, I wanted to challenge myself and complete all the Open WOD’s. Coach Lore, Coach Jose and Coach Jason are all inspiring and terrific coaches and they push me to dig deep and finish the WOD’s. And when I have tough days, I gather all the energy I have and show up for class, and with a little pep talk from the coaches and a high five from my fellow athletes is all I need to give me the energy to finish.
It’s nice to see that as I physically get stronger the box gets bigger and better. I love working out here because there is nobody else to compete with but yourself. There is nobody to judge you and you don’t need all that fancy gym equipment to get to your goals. All you need is a group of people to help you and cheer you on when you think you can’t do it.

Highland Park Cross fit had a Grand Opening on December13, 2014. I was invited by Vicky Vidrio. I was amazed at the transformation of the space. Jose the owner completely transformed this studio into a very welcoming space. This studio is right next door to the fire station. After our workout the cadets were training outside. Ive been an avid runner for many years. Ive taken several classes at the gym. Never before have I done Cross Fit. This workout was the most challenging workout Ive ever done.
Vicky is a mother of three like myself. She never worked out before in her life. Jose showed Vicky that she can do anything she sets her mind to. Vicky has been taking Cross Fit Classes for a year now. I see results for sure. If you are looking for a challenge Highland Park CrossFit is it!

I have always been into competitive sports and athletics. Being freshly out of the military, I was looking for something similar; something fun, varied and intense. Walking into a major fitness center and becoming a victim of routine is too easy and very boring. I decided to give Highland Park CrossFit a try and after the first session I immediately decided to commit to this gym and become a member.
Everything about this gym is awesome; the atmosphere, the coaches, the members, and most of all the variation of the workouts. Coaches Jose and Lorena are very talented and knowledgeable. Both have shown expertise in coaching movement efficiency, technique, programming, conditioning, and are both very motivating.
Whether you are a competitive athlete or stay home mom, they will happily scale workouts to cater to varying groups making Highland Park CrossFit perfect for anyone trying to challenge themselves. Whatever your goal may be: losing weight, getting toned, gaining strength, or improving your overall fitness, Highland Park CrossFit will get you there!

Came in here for the free trial and i was hesitant and very nervous because I’m not in shape at all and I’ve heard how intense cross fit is but i also hear how addicting it can be so i decided to give it a try. I went in there and everyone was very friendly and inviting, felt very comfortable right away! From there we warmed up and did a series of workouts it was great because everyone goes at their own pace! I started with the lowest amount of weights. Everyday there is a new work out and according to some girls that have been there for a while they said its different every single day so you never get bored which sounded pretty exciting! I left feeling good and not so beat or drained which i was surprised for but the next day i woke up feeling very sore ! which pumped me up for more! The price is the best i found around my area so I’m definitely trying this out for a month and hope to get hooked. I definelty recommend it. OH ALSO! water is 1 dollar and BEER IS FREE! Yes seriously they have free beer! its awesome

I had just heard about this box 2 days ago and I came in for a trial that same evening. I was instantly hooked. Great training, great vibes, coaches José and Lorena are both awesome. I highly recommend coming in to check it out and get hooked just as I did. Any and all goals will be met. No one has an ego and everyone there has words of encouragement for each other to push one another harder and take your body to limits above and beyond what you thought possible.

I am one of the coaches at this box & I am very impressed with the athletes who have joined us! Everyone helps each other in every way! Everyone is friendly and are forming friendly relationships! I came to the grand opening of Highland park crossfit and I was a little intimidated at first. I didn’t know anyone but when I arrived I was warmly welcomed by Coach Jose. I enjoyed the atmosphere and both coaches there were very encouraging. Everyone was quick to cheer each other on and helped me push myself. If you have never tried crossfit this is the perfect place to start out coach Jose is very passionate about what he does and he will make you love crossfit just as much as he does. I can’t wait to go back and see what kind of workout we will be doing! Definitely signing up for the month membership!!!
