Note: Can only comment on the playground, since I’ve never actually been inside the Rec. Center. Although, if I wasn’t with my toddler I wouldn’t have minded playing some basketball on their outdoor courts.
While not the best playground the area has to offer, this one has a major perk since it is right next to the Arroyo Seco LA library which is great. I go here with my son from time to time when we go to the library for a nice combo of reading and playing.

My dodgeball team got rebooked to use the gym here for a couple of weeks and this is a new-​to-​me area.
Outside offerings: baseball diamond, playground, lots of field space
Inside offerings: big gym, restrooms, kitchen and offices, LAPD stop in center
Everything is relatively clean (bathrooms could use a little brightening, but very much do the job), and the community is great. Everyone I encountered was there to play hard or support their friends/​kids/​etc.
