Highland Tattoo

After a nice vacation in Hollywood that was extended due to Winter Storm Jonas, my friend and I decided the one souvenir we both needed were piercings. So we went in and talked to April, and decided on the daith (diath?) for myself and a double forward helix for my friend.
Piercings themselves went well– I saw the jewelry be cleaned before being put in, she used new needles, etc. I didnt mind that the other shop workers walked by my friend and I several times during the process, but that should be a warning to anyone who wants privacy for a piercing. Pricing was great compared to what we called around and heard. Mine was 65, and one place in WeHo wanted to charge $ 125 for it.
Currently healing well, as is my friends. I’d go back again, especially because I forgot to use my $ 10 for checking in. April was also extremely personable and fun, and of course, professional.

April pierced my nose and she was great! Not only was she very informative but she also was very gentle and guided me through the whole process. Thanks again!

These people were so rude. Not only were they totally rude to us for no reason at all, they gave my friend the wrong thing! We went in there simply to get her ears pierced and they GADGED them! It was over 60 dollars and my friend was in total pain and ended up needing to go to Clairs to get the proper earrings and since they didn’t even offer us ear cleaning product, she needed to get that from them too. We will never go back!

Sooo yeah my girlfriend and I were working and had about 5 hours to kill. Being on Hollywood blvd we walked around and played tourist. Coming across this tattoo parlor we decided to get some. Dirt was who greeted us first and happen to be the artist. He was very nice and helped us get our art done right. He cared if we liked it and takes pride in his work. I’d go back for sure. I love my tattoo he added on too and even fixed the older one. The rest of the staff was very attentive and really nice. Very cool place!

My friend & I went into the shop to ask about prices on a tattoo she wanted & we each ended up walking out with a new piercing. She got her belly pierced and I got a medusa piercing. Clifton was our piercer and he was super professional. He talked us through the process and he even made us laugh as well. The piercing itself was quick & painless. He and the rest of the staff were super friendly! Would recommend to anyone looking for a piercing in the Hollywood area! Thanks again, Clifton! You rule: D

Was in LA visiting when the stud to my dermal popped off in my sleep. Headed to highland tattoo and was pleased with the service, quick and inexpensive. Within a week the piece that I asked them to make SURE was properly installed has fallen out. I called and asked if they could mail me a replacement piece and was told «we don’t do that here.» Not cool, I’m low on funds at the moment and have to walk around with a dermal with no stud in my face. Waste of money

Went last night to finally get my naval pierced. My experience for my first body piercing (besides my ears) was nothing compared to what I thought it was going to be. Clifton was AMAZING!!! I was kind of nervous but just talking to him made me relax. It was fast and I hardly felt pain. I thought it was going be painful like I saw on YouTube videos but nope! Like I said hardly felt pain. I would definitely go back for more piercings I want and highly recommend Clifton if you want a piercing

I am writing this for my friends who got a nose piercing. Not for myself.
My best friend has been wanting to get a septum piercing for years. So a few months ago she finally decided to do it. We headed over to Highland Tattoo on a week night and it wasn’t too busy. We had good conversation with a couple of workers while my friend filled out the paperwork.
Now I should preface this by saying that although my friend is no strangers to tattoos and piercings, she is the biggest weenie I know! Thank god for Clifton Santiago! He was really, really, really funny yet professional. He was patient with her, talked her through it, and even showed her how she would be flipping it up into her nose to hide it while at work.
I’ve considered getting some piercing myself. Not decision yet but if I do decide to move forward, I will be coming to see Clifton!

Got my nipple pierced at Highland Tattoo. I would recommend Clifton, he is one cool dude who knew what he was doing. Very professional and he made me laugh to put me at ease.

I got my septum pierced 4 years ago by Clifton and it was a great experience. It was quick, straight and he was pleasant. I had a ball fall out that night and I called the next day he said to come in and he would fix it. He totes did and everything was great. I pulled my piercing out on accident and flash forward 4 years I want it again. I stop by the shop and this time I was pierced by Amber. She was very nice, I felt comfortable asking her questions. The other girl behind the counter was very nice too, she watched me get pierced. I really liked having the other girl there, needles And blood make me nauseous, she helped distract me. Amber was professional, clean set up, she dealt with my scar tissue build up like a champ. The worst part was the clamps not the piercing. Hah. I would go back to her for another piercing, I hope the other girl is there too. They were super rad because I did end up feeling sick and they helped me out and Amber cleaned up the blood so I wouldn’t have to see anything. I really appreciated the effort! I’m super happy with my results!
I did have one ball fall off tonight, I screwed it on using my jewelry pliers. Any tips on how to keep them tightly on there?

Got my industrial ear piercing here done by Clifton! He was amazing– the placement was perfect and he was quick. Answered all of my questions and was super great with my first cartilage piercing. The shop itself is great– all the employees are super helpful and welcoming.
TL, DR: Such a great vibe at this whole shop. Definitely get a piercing from Clifton.

I got my nipples pierced by cliffton such a an awesome guy at easing those nervous ones into laughing and relaxing.
I had gotten my tounge pierced by him & he remembered me. which was pretty cool considering he see’s so many people,
Really professional & am awesome calm mood he gives you.
SUPER CLEAN & FRIENDLY STAFF definitely don’t see my self going anywhere else. loved it!

They use cheap jewelry. The «gold» earring they gave me when I got my ear pierced had nickel in it. A nickel allergy is often caused when the metal is exposed an open wound as it is more easily absorbed into the blood stream. I learned this when I went to the doctor after a month of my ear swelling, itching and leaking blood/​puss. Now I can’t wear half the jewelry I own. Thanks guys! I officially have an allergy. To nickel, and some of my favorite earrings.
Outstanding quality. Really.
Lastly — I went to this place cause it was cheap. Aside from the fact that I got what I paid for here, I ended up paying additional fees for the doctors visit, antibiotics, ointment, a new earring/​service of getting the piece replaced by a professional at a different, more reputable place, and new jewelry to replace the basics that I now no longer can wear. This was one surprisingly expensive experience.

I went in to get a tattoo not quite knowing what I wanted. All I knew is I wanted an anchor and some roses. Chris started drawing right away and had something drawn out immediately! He was so Nice about everything and payed SO MUCH ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Definitely the best tattoo I have and i can’t stop looking at it. It’s healing so well and I am so thankful that I walked In to highland tattoo because I got so blessed! Thank you so much Chris and I will for sure be back for way more in the future! (:

I had gone in here before to get one of my piercings fixed. Clifton was very helpful and put longer jewelry in for me so it wasn’t so irritated. The service he gave me made me vow to never let another piercer touch me again. He’s clean, calm, and very very professional.
Soooo naturally, I went back when I wanted my vertical labret piercing. He said the longest jewelry he had might not work if it swelled too much (I have big lips) so he did everything he could to minimize the irritation. He didn’t use clamps because he said the pressure would make it swell more. He was extremely gentle & comforting, and took his time piercing it. Talked me through every step so I wasn’t left in the dark. It’s barely swollen so far (got it 3 days ago) and I couldn’t be happier. Seriously. He also said if I had any issues with the jewelry he would modify a different type to make it work. I know for sure I won’t have to go back to get it changed, and I also know for sure that I will be returning for every other piercing as long as he’s there.
AMAZING. I’ve gone around to my friends telling them how amazing he is and they all think I’m crazy cause it’s just a piercing. But I’ve never had a piercing go so smoothly in my life and I have a lot. 5 stars, hands down.

Amber Manzanares pierced my tragus this evening. It was such a great experience. She was super sweet and somehow managed to keep me relaxed while I was having a needle shoved through my ear! I also purchased a belly button ring and she replaced it free of charge :) I definitely recommend Amber for your piercing needs.

Love this place! I got my hips and tongue pierced by Clifton! He is so professional and such a sweetheart. If you’re looking for someone who really knows what they’re doing, I’d suggest you stop by and check him out!

Best shop in Hollywood ! Hands down. Iv bin to a lot of shops but these guys truly know how to be legit. Clifton is my piercer and honesty after working with him I will not let anyone els pierce my body. He’s so professional and does things very calmly, and very painless. I truly recommend him. I stumbled upon this shop amongst the many that are on the blvd. Hands down the best! Such a great shop with some great people &It was super clean.
Tony was super nice and super helpful, and drew up our tattoos for us right on the spot. He was super chill and reasonable with pricing. You definitely get more than your money’s worth.
Ryan did the actual tattoo, and he is Amazing! Extremely gentle for me and did a great job! I’m super happy with my tattoo and can’t wait to come back for another one.
