Cute décor, great food, AND pet friendly? What’s not to love!
I’d been wanting to check this place out for a while, and I’m so glad I finally did! I put it off because looking at their menu, I thought «how great can standard American food really be?» But the answer is really darn great. I’m not a burger person, but their classic burger was so so good. Wrapped in lettuce, it was not only gluten free but celiac friendly. And I am most definitely a fan of the skinny garlic fries that came on the side (gluten free too!). My dad also liked his sandwich along with his waffle fries. And the drink specials were super creative; the mango margarita gets a two thumbs up from me.
The décor here is super cute, with outdoor string lights over the wooden tables and built-​in benches. There’s an indoor area, but the majority of the place is outdoors and looks like a fairytale hangout built into the trees. Home is also super pet friendly! They have little bags of dog treats at the hostess stand, and our waiter brought my dog a little bowl of water. So sweet!
The only weird/​negative thing? We kept getting pelted by falling tree nuts while we ate. It freaked my dog out. And we had no idea why she bucking and cowering all over the place until we started to get hit by them too! One landed in my ketchup, another in my dad’s drink. It almost became a game by the end: where will the next nut land?
So come here. Bring your dog, and get a burger. And just hang out and enjoy all that is Home. But don’t sit under the big tree with the falling nuts…

Perfect place for brunch on a Satuday morning! Parked in the neighborhood and walked a few blocks to find people lined up for tables. After placing my name on the list, we sat by the fountain and 10 minutes later, were seated on the deck.
I ordered the breakfast chilaquiles that consisted of over easy eggs a top tortilla chips, salsa and melted cheese and garnished with sour cream and green onion. I LOVE chips and for
someone that LOVES chips (any kind), this breakfast choice was a no brainer. I added a few splashes of hot sauce to warm up the flavors and enjoyed every savory bite.
Ambiance was great, food was delicious & the service was wonderful.

Home is my go-​to restaurant when I’m with a friend or group and everyone is hungry but no one knows what they want. Bonus points if it’s a nice day out, because the patio seating is the selling point of this place. Don’t worry, the food is on point too.
Parking can be annoying here, so I tend to opt for the $ 3 valet –super cheap. There’s often a wait but rarely longer than 15 minutes. Ask for outside seating, always. If you bring a dog, they’ll hook you up with water in a bowl and some treats. They’re very dog-​friendly.
I like coming here for brunch for the morning boozy bevs, and also for sober healthy lunches/​burger dinners. They have every staple category of food: pancakes, eggs, wraps, big salads, burgers, pickle chips. and lots of clearly marked veg options, if that’s what you’re into.
The atmosphere is so nice, and the food really holds its own too. On a last note, you will be sitting under a canopy of trees. Be prepared to be pelted by tiny round seed that fall from the trees and bounce around on your table. It becomes amusing after a while ;)

Two perfect things:
1. Ahi burger: Served rare, with avocado. Delicious.
2. French Toast a la Mode: Can’t even describe it.
However, the place only rates three stars because two friends were less than enamored with their entrees (Tequila Chicken and Veggie Burger), the valet didn’t seem to be available at 8 p.m. on a Friday night, and the janitor cleaning the restroom couldn’t bother to move just a little faster even though he knew there was a customer waiting to use the facility. And he didn’t do that great of a job anyway.
Two more positives: happy hour till 8 p.m. and service was mostly good until dessert/​check time.

I never write reviews unless my service is that good. This place was that good. From the second we walked in, my girlfriend and Feebie our dog, got the full treatment. Treats and water for the furry one, bloodies & beer for the «adults.» And try the Mac n cheese bites.
Don’t let these negative reviews turn you away. This sweet patio full of incredibly nice people is an absolute must try. We’ll be back soon. All three of us.

First time at HOME was wonderful! Had salmon bagel, banana pancakes, croissant breakfast sandwich, coffee, and mimosas. Great staff, and beautiful outside seating, with a cute fountain. Definitely will be returning and suggesting this place to family and friends.

I really like the décor and the food here. But the only reason I give it a four star is because the service wasn’t that great. Both times that I have been here the servers were really slow and they weren’t attentive.
First time I was here I waited about 10 minutes for them to even bring ice water. When the server came back and we were ready to order she walked away and came back another 10 minutes later. Definitely didn’t sit well with me. I ordered the breakfast slam, tuna melt, and chilaquiles. All of which were delicious. Tuna melt not so much. All in all the food was great. Service not so much. More than twice during the meal I felt like I was dying of thirst. I ended up getting up and grabbing a pitcher of water because the server was nowhere to be seen. Moreover it wasn’t that many people outdoors so I was surprised at how horrible the service was.
Second time I was here I orders the chicken and waffles, chicken noodle soup with chicken curry sandwich. The chicken curry sandwich wasn’t up to par. Nowhere near that of urth café. The chicken noodle soup tasted like vegetable soup and the toast was not toasted even after I asked for them to have it toasted. After the meal we asked for the check, waited 15 minutes and had to ask a different server for the check. Also had to ask for water refills multiple times because they would forget that my table had asked for water.
Service makes both of my experiences here pretty frustrating. The food is something I would come back for but I don’t know if it’s worth the and service.

I love the chicken waffle a lot! Chicken was very crispy and flavorful, waffle wasn’t so soft n crispy enough. Red velvet pancake probably the fluffiest pancake you can get in L. A! I love the natural shade surrounded by large trees in the middle of the city. The fish pond with the fountains is a nice touch! As for the price, everywhere in LA is expensive. So $ 48 for two persons very usual.

I love the atmosphere here! It’s such a comfortable place to just relax with friends and have a few drinks. The waitstaff are very friendly too. The only negative is that, we weren’t ready for food when we came in, so we asked if it was OK to just have some drinks for now. They said yes, and we ordered drinks but we must have had 5 or 6 different servers come up and ask us if we were ready to order. It just got a little weird to have to say over and over that we’re holding off on food. We did eventually eat, and the food was good, but clearly there needs to be a bit more communication between the wait staff. Not a huge deal though, I still really enjoyed my experience.

A good place for brunch. They a nice accommodation, valet is available so it’s a big help to secure you car. There are also few parking places nearby to choose from.
The food was actually good but not the best, good enough though for a quick branch. I ordered the Crab Benedict which I liked, and the Chicken Tuscani. It was delicious but I want more flavor from it.

When I came a couple of weeks ago it was at breakfast and it wasn’t busy. The hostess seemed like she wasn’t fully awake or just didn’t like people I’m not sure. She wasn’t very friendly which you expect from a hostess they are the first encounter when going to a restaurant well we got seated right next to the fountain in the front at a super small table for two which wasn’t level which was super annoying and idk about other people but I don’t want to be splashed from a fountain that’s how close the table is. The waitress was slow and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. The food was ehh subpar not worth anymore then they already charge. I guess breakfast is just a slow pace and the workers aren’t kind and inviting that early. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back I would go back if I was in the area but there are other options I would choose first.

If you pass by Home Restaurant, you can’t help but be curious about what’s under and beyond the rustic Edison-​lit archway.
Realizing it’s probably going to be pricey, we went anyway.
They sat us right away. Although they serve breakfast all day, we opted for the dinner items. Overwhelmed by the countless options for food and a hard-​to-​navigate menu, it was hard to choose what we wanted. Assuming I’d most likely return, I played it safe this time around and ordered the Home BBQ Burger with a side salad instead of fries ($ 14). The burger was a decent size and had a charbroiled taste to it. The bun it was served on was buttery and complimented the meat well. While not the best burger I’ve had, it was definitely a decent value for the price, and the tasty house-​made BBQ sauce was a plus.
My fiancée ordered the Lemon Chicken Piccata ($ 17), which did not come short of any food. 2 big pieces of chicken atop mashed potatoes and vegetables. While the potatoes were marginal, the vegetables were very good. The chicken was just slightly dry, but this proved to be innocuous due to the savory flavor of the lemon-​caper sauce.
For an appetizer, the Mac & Cheese was calling our names. Definitely living up to expectations, this one was probably priced a dollar or two too high ($ 9) for the amount we got.
For this type of place, you’d expect to get little bang for your buck, but for the most part, Home gives you surprisingly hefty amounts of food for what you pay.
The atmosphere of this place didn’t disappoint either. Sitting out on a patio-​like dinning room, you almost feel like you’re in another world. It’s truly fantastic and makes the experience worth every penny.
I will leave the review at 4 stars, but it could change if my next visit builds upon my first.

First off, let me start by saying, the outside décor is really nice and the staff is great. We had pretty high expectations as this place was recommended to us.
The happy hour specials aren’t really happy ones. So, happy hour is from 3−8pm everyday, which is awesome if the HH specials are worthwhile.
Happy hour specials that we ate/​drank:
Spicy mac & cheese bites — not spicy, this is fried mac & cheese
Bruschetta (hummus, tomatoes, & basil on pita bread) — not good at all
$ 6 beer
Seasonal/​regular menu items we tried:
Tamarind margarita — I’ve had much better
Garlicky skinny fries w/​honey mustard — the fries were good, the honey mustard I could do without
The total of our happy hour items was $ 40, not worth it.
Btw, they serve breakfast all day.
Parking: there is street parking & in the neighborhoods nearby.

Food is good.
Service is slow and bad: not because the servers are a-​holes.
The servers aren’t coordinated. And the tables are too cramped.
We had to ask a few times for refills on drinks, sauce, and napkins. We actually had to remind one of the servers about the drink that we ordered that we didn’t get at all.
I know ya’ll are busy. That is why the servers have assigned tables. It ain’t bad at all. There were enough servers for the seated tables.
Would I come back? Maybe, if I am in town.
I hope the service is better then.

Came here last night for dinner around 9PM and it was busier than I expected, but we were still seated immediately. The heat lamp was out of order at the first table, so she put us in a booth instead.
Order was put in fairly quickly, and the food seemed to come pretty quick too — but being as hungry as I was, it still felt like forever.
I ordered the French Toast with some eggs and bacon, and I have to say that I’m very impressed with the quality of the food. Considering all the different types of meals coming out of that kitchen, I can’t imagine how crazy it is back there — but they do a great job.
Our server seemed like she was a little irritated, but there was a group of 3 that came in just ten minutes before closing… and then told her they still had 2 more people coming, despite the restaurant closing shortly. That’s just disrespectful in my opinion, but props to the restaurant for not turning them away. I hope they left a good tip.
Home is always good to me, either location. It’s no five-​star restaurant, but it’s a very cute place with good food for everyone, and the staff is typically very friendly as well.

I’ve been wanting to come here for quite some time, so my roommates and I thought Easter would be a great time to go. We had a party of five so we made a reservation. Upon arrival we were seated right away at a great corner booth outside.
For breakfast I ordered the California Omlet with no bacon, made as a scramble. The mushrooms were great but it could have used more cheese, and I assumed the avocado would be inside the scramble, not on top. The salsa they served with it was actually really good and added a lot of flavor.
The scramble was served with home fries which was basically a bowl of potatoes and onions. I don’t like onions and I’m confused on why they put so many in there potatoes. The potatoes themselves were very bland. I could even finish them.
The scramble also came with sourdough toast, which was really great! It was artisan style.
I also ordered a side of coleslaw which was really good! That didn’t disappoint.
My boyfriend ordered the breakfast quesadilla which I thought was a lot better than my meal.
The bloody Mary’s were very bland and had no spice. So I would skip those next time!
Overall I felt like the food was good but not great. I would definitely like to go back for lunch and try a sandwich or main dish.
I would have given HOME four stars but I had to take one off due to service. Our waitress wasn’t friendly at all and forgot to ring in part of our order. It also took her three times to come back with our water refills. She just seemed very out of it and like she didn’t care at all, which we didn’t appreciate.

Happy Hour is 3−8pm Monday-​Thursday! Wine, Beer and mixed drink specials. Food specials for $ 6 (calamari is more expensive).
My friend and I got here and were seated outside. We had to ask for the happy hour menu, but thankfully we knew there was a happy hour or we might have been fooled.
We ordered the mac n cheese bites-​omg so good. There were about 8 of them in the order. We also ordered the nacho, equally as delicious!
I thought we would need more food, but it was actually really filling. That didn’t stop us from getting their french toast dessert. Apparently it’s the only homemade dessert they have and it’s completely decedent and delicious. It took a little while to come out, but totally worth the wait. It was hot and had 2 huge scoops of cold vanilla ice cream with warm caramel sauce. Almost had a bit of a coconut taste, but so so delicious.
In the end, the bill came out and it was $ 21. Not bad at all :)
This place gets pretty busy during the weekends for brunch, but it was very quiet on a Tuesday at 5:30pm and stayed pretty quiet the entire time we were there. Parking is easy if you drive down some of the side streets. And free!

OH MY GOSH. All I can say, is their tea and their french toast were equal parts incredible and amazing. The french toast was made out of challah bread. It was unreal. I also got a breakfast burrito, which was amazing as well. I can’t wait to go back. I live in Irvine, and I could possible be convinced making the trek to LA just for brunch here again. One of the best places I’ve ever been. There’s no place like Home!

Whenever I pass by Home on a weekend day, it’s PACKED. Groups of people standing outside, staring at their phones, waiting for a table to open up.
My suggestion? Come on a weekday.
My friends and I came here last night, and it was just lovely. They had the heat lamps out to guard against the evening chill. That, plus the lovely ambiance of feeling like you’re dining in someone’s treehouse, already make Home a winner in my book!
Anyway, two of us ordered the caramelized apple salad (apples, greens, goat cheese, walnuts, and balsamic vinaigrette). My other friend ordered the ½ sandwich, ½ soup combo: tuna sandwich and the soup of the day, a lentil purée.
You know you’ve made the right menu choice when the table falls silent once the food arrives, punctuated by intermittent «mmm“s.
I’d say we enjoyed our meal ;P
We split the French toast à la mode. Oh man. Perfection.
Our server was friendly and made sure we never wanted for water, too. And the place wasn’t crowded, but nice and relaxed. Thanks Home!

I like the patio and how many veggie options they have but was confounded by the fact that the VBLTA sandwich, when ordered with the soup combo, mysteriously isn’t offered with the avocado as the whole sandwich is.
The sandwich presented to me was pretty sad, literally a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato with a couple slices of fake bacon. Why would they even serve that? At least give me a decent serving of the three ingredients that should be there, not 90% bread.
I’ll try the breakfast menu next time I guess!

Great food and amazing garden setting. It’s called Home because you feel like you’re in your backyard. Good hearty portions and the service is great!

(More of a 3.5 but the lack of parking and abundance of flies is something to be a bit weary about. Not a game changer though.)
Typical brunch place with HUGE portions! Lovely outside area (perfect for those spring/​summer breakfasts) but with nature comes the fliesssss.
It does get super packed, but wait time seems to move rather quickly.
Valet parking is just as bad as finding street parking at the busy times.

Great outdoor patio… I am in constant search of the best patio happy hours and brunches in LA and this one has a southern feel. With a little humidity and perhaps a little George Straight or even New Orleans Jazz, I could have convinced myself I was in the durty… perhaps.
Good was decent, actually it was good. But simple. Nothing that blew my socks off but yummy.
Service was great. I ALWAYS love when a pretty girl has a pretty attitude! It’s kind of hard to find in LA with servers, as many treat you as if you invaded their private restaurant or something. lol. Our server was genuine and wonderful. Coffee stayed full and food was out in a jiffy.
I am super excited to try happy hour here (3pm-​8pm!!!) and their «famous» Bloody Mary’s. So I am thinking I will b e back soon.

First time here last week.
Really nice place. We made a reservation just in case. We ended up running late and I was for sure the table was gone.
The host was really nice and kept our table, and was overall really positive and didn’t mind (I’ve been to a few places where the host was rude because we were 5 Mins late)
Anyway. That really made the night.
The food was alright. Good, but honestly nothing special. Maybe I got the wrong thing (kale wrap and fries)
Cool atmosphere.

I really wanted to try their chicken and waffles but it was way tooooo early for them. I got the French toast with strawberries. Their waffle fries looked amazing.

I’ve been here four times and the service and food quality has been consistently good! Both breakfast and dinner have a great variety of foods — and include vegetarian options to boot.
The bar drinks are tasty as well, I’m currently addicted to their Summer Rose drink which is included as a happy hour special. Their Mac and Cheese as an appetizer to share or a meal is delicious and flavorful. I’ve also tried their fried chicken and waffles with that slight touch of honey and can’t wait to go back and have that again!
Overall they offer a comfortable ambiance, both indoor and outdoor seating, they have valet parking but there’s plenty of street parking as well, and all the servers I’ve had have been attentive and on point.

If you’re looking for a quaint spot to grab food and drinks with friends, I would have to recommend Home Restaurant in Los Feliz. I believe they have valet options, but finding street parking won’t be a difficult task if you keep your eyes open.
This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere that I can only describe as a giant tree house. I definitely enjoyed my time sitting outside and dining with a nice cool breeze. There is outdoor patio seating with an upper deck, full bar, fountain, as well as indoor seating. Those of you who are into hip American style joints will love this place.
Surprisingly, you can order breakfast menu options at any time of the day here. That is amazing! The service is incredibly friendly and the menu is quite extensive. If you have questions, feel free to ask the waitresses anything and they will make great recommendations. I loved their Honey Ginger Mojito, since it combines my two favorite things. My main dish, the Chicken Parmigiana, was absolutely delightful. They even brought us a Chocolate Cheesecake on the house because they didn’t have our dessert of preference. Isn’t that awesome? That alone warrants another visit back!
Overall, it’s a wonderful place to meet with friends and casually dine. If you are in the Los Feliz area, it is definitely worth the visit.

Great ambiance. Great food. The hostess Arta is supper dank! 5 stars all around! They even let us try the soup of the day which was very great by the way, zucchini curry. The French Toast À la mode was sublime. The staff here are so friendly. Would definitely recommend and come back. HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ARTA! The hostess with the mostest!

Very cute breakfast brunch spot. Parking wasn’t too bad In the neighborhood. Love the outdoor seating set up. They’re pet friendly so my dog loved it. The hostess even gave us some treats for him which is always a plus.
The food was great. We had pancakes, though I think our favorite part was the music. It wasn’t overbearing and they kept playing oldies music. Like doowops. And every time a new song came on, we would «awwww!» Giggle and hold our hearts. Haha. Perfect brunch. We’ll be back for sure.

Came here on a Wednesday around 11am when they first opened and there was plenty of outdoor tables. Only one server working but she assisted us right away.
I ordered the crab benedict with a side of potatoes and coffee. I really liked the environment and the look of the location, but the food was only ok. Any time I drive by there, it’s always crowded but this place is not on my list to revisit any time soon.

I love it here. The food is excellent, the environment is different than most restaurants, and the drinks are SUPER yummy!
It almost feels like you’re sitting inside a giant tree house or something. It’s just super cute, i love it. The vibe is very low-​key, but very «LA,» if that makes sense. One of my best friends and I love coming here for their moscow mules alone. They call them something else though– I think I order a silverlake mule?
I’ve ordered salads every time I’ve come, and I’ve never been disappointed! Get the watermelon salad– YUM. My friend always orders the lobster mac & cheese and is nice enough to always give me a fork-​full. SUPER GOOD.
Stop by H Coffee next door on your way out!

I love this restaurant!!! I love everything about this place! The ambiance is lovely! The coffee is GREAT! They serve wine and beer (if I recall correctly). Their food is really good and the presentation is very nice. I like the seating because it’s outside but you still feel protected. There are nice private corners to discuss business over lunch. This is a small town, so you definitely want your privacy. I really really like this place. BREAKFAST is wonderful! Excellent salads. Lots of healthy choices and no-​so-​healthy if you’re feeling indulgent. LOVELY establishment.

Great décor and feel. So many options on the menu. Food is solid… but not amazing.
The happy hour micheladas are gigantic, limey, and fantastic.

Had a wonderful experience here at Home! The pot pie was so warm and delicious, crust flaky and just melt in your mouth. Heat lamps out at night. Beautiful patio area with a fountain in the middle, creates a very relaxing environment. I’d come back here with a girlfriend or for a cozy date night. Service was good as well. Street parking.

Don’t really come to Los Feliz at all, but definitely want to check out the area more after eating here.
Meter parking 3 – 4 blocks away, but neighborhood parking all around. We sat in the front patio since we had our dog with us. Really enjoyed the bench seating around the perimeter and the tables with all the tree branches hanging above us. The interior was nice as well. Good amount of long and small tables.
The food was delicious. Love their homefries. Not too crispy and not too soft with scallion slices in them. The scramble was filling with bell peppers and Italian sausage. The breakfast burrito was perfect. Didn’t fall apart. I think it was a tomato tortilla? Crispy, thick bacon pieces in each bite and fresh salsa for more flavor.
Would definitely come back here for brunch, especially since there didn’t appear to be a wait for those of us that are early risers.

This place was not bad by any means. I only got a meatloaf sandwich. It wasn’t horrible but it’s nothing to write home about. The meat was on the squishy side, but had a great taste. The cheese and caramelized onions were a good touch.
I loved the ambiance here. We were on the patio. It was the evening and bit chilly out but the heaters did their job and kept us warm. The wood deck and the fountain and the cool little bar and all the lights made this a great place for a dinner with friends or even, judging by the couples around us, a good date spot.
Our server was really friendly and she was incredibly accommodating.
Overall, an A-​OK experience.

This is a cute place for weekend brunch. Located in the hipster-​magnet neighborhood of Los Feliz, you can always count on this place to be packed with trendy people wearing thick brimmed glasses and sporting avant-​garde piercings and tats… just painting the picture for you. There is a large open-​aired seating area where you can enjoy the sunny SoCal weather, and a koi pond where little kids could feed the fish. Very cute atmosphere all around. What i love most is how pet-​friendly they are. When i came here with my dog, they were very nice about it and left her a little treat at our table.
The food here is pretty much what you would expect from a typical brunch place, but I am willing to get in line with all the other hipsters for the atmosphere and awesome pet policy.

I like a lot about Home — I go to both locations, and they have a lot of veggie options that I love (soy chicken burger is my favorite) AND they have veggie sausage — rare, even in vegan and veggie loving Los Angeles.
BUT…no Wi-​Fi in 2016 is just goofy. I came here with a group for a business lunch recently and we had to eat and then return to our office having accomplished no work whatsoever — and this wasn’t a casual «lunch with buddies» this was a business lunch.
It’s not quirky, it’s not rebellious — it means our parties of 5 – 10 can’t meet here for business lunches where we need to be able to pull things up on laptops while we sit and spend somewhere in the range of $ 200 — $ 500 dollars over the course of an hour (the amount we normally drop for work lunches).
Come on… we all know Time Warner rips businesses off for the business packages, but gimme a break — it’s just part of the cost of doing business these days. And don’t try to pull that «We’re an oasis away from the screens and devices and hustle and bustle» — nobody is even slightly confused about WHY a small handful of businesses don’t spring for Wi-​Fi — they’re cheapskates.
So we go elsewhere, when we’d love to spend our money here!

My MIL’s been raving about this place for quite some time now– so she took it upon herself to bring me here when we were in town. Thank you, MIL!
I absolutely LOVE the ambiance of the patio seating. It’s like you’re in some mystical hipster fantasy land! I was unfortunately sick with a cold and it was quite chilly that day, so I couldn’t bask myself outside. Inside is just a nice humble HOMEy feel.
*Fish Tacos– You get 3 fish tacos topped with their aioli and mango salsa. It’s delish! Just when you’re about to think that the fish might be a bit too fishy, the aioli kicks in and saves the day. The spiciness from their aioli also pairs well with the sweetness of the mango salsa. I was feeling stuffed after the first taco, so if you don’t plan on finishing all 3 tacos, I would advise you to ask for the aioli /​mango salsa on the side.
*Grilled chicken and avocado club– I substituted the marble rye for the wheat and it was tasty! Heaps of flavor in every bite! I love that they didn’t stinge out on the avocado. The basil aioli was delicious and did a perfect job of blending all of the ingredients in the sandwich together.
Also tried the california omelette, traditional benedict, & breakfast burrito. All great, but I only remember chowing down on the home fries that it came with.
Great service and they really make you feel like you’re at home.

Home is definitely where the heart is! Such a cute location for brunch, lunch, and dinner. There are outside seating under a large tree with string lights that light up at night. There’s also a pond with koi fishes so if you get seated by it, you feel a feeling of serenity. They serve breakfast all day and certain dishes until 4 PM. Their homemade bloody mary is money! But don’t get too carried away after the first drink because it’s $ 9.50 a drink! I learned the hard way and ordered 3 which almost cost me $ 30! Yikes. I’ve been here couple times and all the dishes I’ve had haven’t disappointed me yet. Although from my recent visit I ordered the smoked salmon benedict and the salmon tasted like old fish. But the ambiance of this place is off the hook so I’ll still give 5 stars.

This place is so cute! Dropped by on NYE after a hike at Griffith’s since it’s just down the street.
We waited for about 15 minutes for a table to open up and then were seated outside near some space heaters. The atmosphere is cozy and adorable with lots of wood and green everywhere and a little koi pond with a fountain in the middle. It’s a hipster’s dream. Also, this isn’t west hollywood — don’t bother with the valet — if you go into the neighborhood just a little bit, there’s tons of parking options.
Service was quick and friendly, and the food was pretty good — nothing amazing but good solid food — combine that with a great ambiance and friendly service, and what more can you want? I had the chicken pomodoro sandwich with waffle fries and my friend had the reuben sandwich with a side salad.
I’ll definitely be back for some more post-​hike meals.

Interesting food, but not worth the lackluster experience.
We thought this would be the perfect thing after a longer-​than-​expected hike at Griffith Park. A place that serves breakfast all day? Yes!
The food was okay. I sprang for the Huevos Benedicto, which was pretty interesting. The sope instead of an English muffin was pretty neat, and the chorizo had a nice spicy kick to it. The wife’s crab benedict was pretty blah though. The crab cake was so-​so. The egg was so-​so. The potatoes were so-​so. I suppose its hard to make everything good with a menu as large as Home’s, but that didn’t make us feel much better.
The slow and somewhat indifferent service wasn’t any help either. The hostess was very accommodating (she helped us wedge our son’s stroller in a good spot), but our waiter was hardly ever around and looked none too pleased to serve us when he was.
I guess you’re really here to enjoy the patio, which is nicely set up as if I sitting at one of those casual-​but-​contrived rustic outdoor wedding receptions. But that isn’t enough to bring me back, sadly.

I don’t mind waiting in line for good food, but for me Home’s ambience is better than its food. If you’re willing to wait, it’s a nice place to enjoy an low key weekend.
Nothing too special on the menu though. They have classic breakfast and diner foods. I hear the Chicken and Waffles are good. Home may hit a nice spot for some people, but I was just not feeling it. Got the breakfast burrito once and I just hard justify spending so much when Los Feliz is home to some of the best breakfast burritos in LA for much cheaper.

It’s been a while since I went to Home Restaurant in Los Feliz. I came here with my wife for a happy hour, and was not that impressed. I had high expectations, but the drinks and food were both just «A-​OK». I don’t have plans to return again, but glad that I tried it out when I was living nearby.
I wish I could say more about Home, but unfortunately when a restaurant is an «un-​memorable» as Home was, I don’t have much to say.

I decided to give Home another try since the last time I was there it was a raging 100 degrees and nothing tasted good to me that day. This time around, it was pouring rain! I arrived and valet parked my car and told the hostess that we had a small dog with our party. Because we had our pet, we had to sit on the patio even though it was raining. Luckily they had umbrellas to cover some of the small tables and they were nice enough to wipe the chairs down for us. I also had ordered the Cinnamon Hot Toddy and thought it was WAY too strong so our server was nice enough to replace my drink at no charge. I ended up with coffee and Baileys and it was delicious! We started off with the Mac n Cheese and we both ordered the Short Rib Pot Pie which came with a small side salad. The food was absolutely delicious this time around… hence the additional star! Our server was also very accommodating considering we were sitting in the freezing cold. We ended up getting our favorite Corn Flake crusted French Toast dessert and it was just as good as I remembered it to be. Overall, even though I can’t seem to get to this restaurant when it’s not extreme weather, I really appreciate our server’s efforts to try to make us as comfortable as possible!

YUM! We were in LA for a couple of days and asked some locals where to find the best breakfast in town… I’d say we found it!
The cutest little restaurant with a very friendly staff and delicious food. My boyfriend and I both had mimosas. They were very good and reasonably priced.
I had the Huevos Rancheros. Homemade black beans, crispy tortilla rounds, tomato salsa, and guacamole. Served with house potatoes. I loved every last bite. I also ordered a side of hollandaise sauce do dip my potatoes in that was seriously AMAZING!
My boyfriend had the «Really Good French Toast» I was lucky enough to steal a bite and it was definitely really good!
We stopped at the Home Coffee Shop next door on our way out and were very impressed with that as well. Highly recommend!

Okay perhaps that sounded a little better while within my head. O_​_​o
Be that as it may, I elected upon ditching my other half for my bestie this past Sunday (as in yesterday) who, residing within walking distance of this place — suggested we stop off @ «Home» for brunch.
Located on Hillhurst in the chic and ever-​so-​quaint neighborhood of Los Feliz, Home is a gay man’s paradise (and we all know if the gays are good for anything, trendy and FABBBBB-​YEW-​LUSSSS just must be on that list honey —- snaps finger and clicks tongue).
As I see it, Home, has pretty much covered all bases:

—- Valét Parking — CHECK!
—- A FULLY stocked bar — CHIZECKKKK!
Sauntered in to a completely packed house (no surprise there), and as my fellow Elite sister from anutha’ Mistuh’ — Steph C. was so clever to state… THIS VENUE IS NOTHING SHORT OF PERFECT, FOR IF ANYTHING…

Our wait was hypothesized as being 20 – 30 minutes. Being the lushes that we are, w/​o so much as 2^nd guessing, we simultaneously gave each other the «Wayan’s Brothers» looks, noted from their movie, «White Chicks» …yet as opposed to going «shoPPPPPing», we headed DIRECTLY for the baRRR!!!
— - 2 stars afforded for Home’s addition of the bar itself. Call me an alkie-​, I could care less, but the bar area affront the fountain within the courtyard are CERTFIABLY what places this eatery upon the map!
It’s like dining within your best friend’s back yard. A… uhm…really well off «friend» with a posh Los Feliz mansion complete with a slammin’ bartender!!! I ordered the jalapeño margarita and she, a Bloody Marie (apparently this is made with tequila) and bay-​behhhh…

We totally forgot that we’d originally been waiting for a table!!!
Shortly thereafter we were addressed and seated and the bestie’ partook in breakfast and I, in a club sandwich. We barely had time enough to blink as both of our orders were out in minutes!!! The food itself, wasn’t groundbreaking but, for what it’s worth — it served its purpose. It was also large enough in portion for me to request boxing and take leftovers home.

DARE I SAY —– as of most places, I returned with (…sighs) «him» just this afternoon for «Happy Hour» and arriving at ½ past 3, we noticed valét no longer to have been an option. Parking was more than accessible however (I parked directly in front of the entrance and he, across the street) and/​or the place was ‘almost’ void of the very same colorful characters I’d derived so much interest in just the day before.
For what it’s worth, aside of «breakfast being served ALL day», Home — boasts a «Happy Hour» consistent of a few discounted appetizers and specialty booze beverages. Again, I went w/​the jalapeño margarita — which a 2^nd time, DID NOTTTTTT– LET ME DOWN!!!
The appetizers this go round… from the nachos down to the spicy Mac/​cheese (served reminiscent of «jalapeño poppers» — were just okay as were the wings we’d elected to have served w/​Thai glaze. They all left quite a bit to be imagined.
Be this as it may^, THE PRICE AT «HOME» HAS CONSISTENTLY BEEN RIGHT, the ambiance is (dare I say)…home-y, and to be honest, my only star deduction came at the expense of them being dog friendly.

While I admire the gesture in allowing Fido and Toto to accompany their owners out to eat; PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT EVERYONE DOES NOT WANT TO DINE WITH DOGS.
(Sorry) but, there… I said it.
We were enabled to witnesses a Doberman lap lemonade directly from an unsuspecting diner’s glass while scratching incessantly, allowing fur to waft around with the blow of the wind… all the while, the owners (who vaguely apologized), laughed the issue completely off.
Sadly… Unlike at my «actual» Home, Fee Fee wasn’t given a time out and as I see it, THIS is unacceptable.
That beverage could’ve just as easily been an Adiós, Mai Tai or Jack and Coke and just as most restaurants have proceeded in the commencement of incorporating «Smoking Sections» as not to offend those seeking to protect their lungs — I’d duly like to see Home obtain the same with «Pet Friendly» locations within the premises as to accommodate ALL guests… as opposed to most.

Really enjoyed our brunch yesterday. The wait wasn’t too bad (20 mins) even though it was prime lunch time on a Sunday. We got seated inside, which was fine, but sitting in the patio would’ve elevated our experience (esp with all the doggies!). It was still cozy and charming inside.
Decided to go halfsies on the french toast with strawberries AND the crispy onion burger. Best decision made all weekend. It’s usually so hard to decide on one dish, so why not have both (and not seem gluttonous). The burger was extremely juicy and flavorful, and perfectly medium. The crispy onions, sautéed mushrooms, and melty swiss cheese were all delicious additions. The french toast was well executed with the light and fluffy challah bread.
Service was excellent. Half the table ordered hot coffee, and our server definitely kept the coffee coming. When we asked for another refill but to-​go, he was not judgmental at all LOL. Overall, great place for a leisurely brunch.

First time with Joanne aka «JoJo» second time with the Fambam (group of 5), and third with Angie F. So… Home!
1^st Time: *pop* haha–
Joanne and I met for the first time, at H coffee House! (Refer to that review). Highlights: Great customer service/​ordered food and drinks at the coffee house and sat in Home Restaurants outdoor seating on a weekday morning.
2^nd Time: Fambam visits: My brother was in town from NorCal and I brought him to a nice place for breakfast! (Sunday morning)
So we called ahead, and asked if they were busy and the girl said no! Upon arriving, the wait was timed at 20 minutes. We actually waited almost 45 minutes. The thing that really upset me was there was a party before us who was still waiting for their people to show up, and that was holding us up. But, come on all my peeps were there. Not okay!
Anyways, we sat around waiting outside with a bunch of other folks as well. A few of us ran over to H coffee house and ordered drinks. So… that kept us occupied during the wait. When we were finally called in… we were seated at a nice table indoors between the restaurant and café. It was booth seating, where all 5 of us squeezed in.
The baby was given a kids menu and crayons, while all of us peered our adult versions.
Ordered: 1) Chilaquiles: they were ordinary says Bro!
2) Veggie Burrito: with eggs, beans, grilled veggies, cheese! Delicious! With a side of fruit. Salsa was too bland for my liking. Hot sauce is a mustttt!
3) Choose ur own Egg Style: He ordered 3 eggs scrambled and we laughed when they arrived it looked like nothing. (Waiter offered to throw in more eggs, but we said we were cool).
4) Pancakes for kids were great!
5) Cunada ordered a chicken salad. It came with apples that looked like they were picked out of an apple pie! Hmm. She didn’t eat em! She thought they would be fresh and crunchy not cooked.
Paid and bounced.
**Be ready to wait, if you go on the weekend.
I did love the paintings over the booth seating.
3^rd visit with Angie on a Tuesday morning:
Only one couple was sitting, and the whole place was dead. We were seated right away, in an outdoor booth! We ordered our drinks: I tried the Green Pomegranate Raspberry Tea, and a water. She had some sort of latte with no design. Boo on the design team today. We placed our orders and food came out rather quickly as well. Out came the veggie burrito! (I only ate ½ plus fruit). We were shooing flies, but what do u expect it’s outdoors. (Bring your fly swatter) lmao!
Overall, good experience. We were checked up on a few times. The service is great.

I’ve come back twice to prove my gut wrong, but this place gets progressively worse in quality. They know how to sell their atmosphere but the service and food are on the shady side of things.
They’re short staffed, for starters. I watched as the receptionist girl looked around uncertainly and failed to manage the crowd that came flooding in. As we were seated in about 15 minutes, I saw a group of older people get seated an hour and a half later, and they looked exasperated but didn’t want to cause a fuss over the wait. They came in right after our party, by the way. I still wonder what that was about.
Then there is the food. The mediocre, reheated food. You can’t have that many items on a menu without pre-​storing and pre-​cooking a majority of it. That is so wrong, considering the prices and promises. Each time I’ve come back, the food has gotten worse.
Better yet, our inattentive waitress double-​charged my credit card. So I paid double for the below-​average meal I ordered. If I hadn’t checked my statement, I would have never known. I’m questioning the kind of establishment this place is, and it’s a bad way to do business. I say this with a heavy heart, as I had once liked this place. But I won’t be coming back again, I can promise you that.

I’m a fan of Home Restaurant! Their food is good, but the garden seating area is absolutely beautiful. I came on a Saturday morning, and was a little surprised not to see a long line. There was a short wait to sit in the garden, but we opted to eat indoors because there was no wait for that.
I had the Huevos Rancheros, which were really good! Some of the best I’ve had. Not exactly authentic, but adjusted to the liking of the American bruncher. But I actually preferred that flavor. It was lighter, and less beans centric. There was a crunchy tortilla at the bottom which added a nice crunch to it.
Parking is all residential street. A little tough to find parking, but if you keep driving around, you might find one, but be prepared to walk. If not, there’s some metered parking closer to Vermont that vacates faster.

After hiking to the Hollywood Sign from Bronson Canyon, and after we visited the Griffith Observatory we were hungry and looking for a place to eat. My friend’s from Germany and she heard Los Feliz was a cool neighborhood to check out, and wasn’t too far away from where we were. So I pulled up Unilocal and came across this spot! When we walked up we thought it was going to be a long wait. We were quoted 20 min, which wasn’t too long of a wait, so we decided to wait. But within 10 minutes, they called my name! Score!
When I went up to speak with the hostess about happy hour, she looked at me and was like «oh that’s over». Uhm, it was 10 min to 3 pm lady, it’s actually just about to start! The lady next to her corrected her immediately and handed me a happy hour menu though. Nice save, other hostess lady!
We got sat outside, and it was super nice! I love the patio here! It was nicely shaded, with music going.
We ordered:
— fried pickles ($ 6 HH price)
— soy chicken burger with a spring salad
— sloppy Joe with a Caesar salad
— fresh squeezed lemonade
Everything was delicious. The Caesar was pretty standard. Tessa loved the fried pickles! She never had them before, so I told her we had to get them! Cute place for brunch and lunch!

Si usted está en Los Feliz, la decisión será bastante complicada, no porque no haya que escoger, sino por sus múltiples opciones. Vermont y Hillhurst con las calles que recomiendo a visitar, son las que tienen más comercio, por lo tanto, más restaurantes. En anteriores post, describí The Alcove, uno de mis restaurantes favoritos al igual que Yucas, entre otros. Todos ellos localizados en la calle Hillhurst. Esta vez el turno es para Home, restaurante al cual comparo bastante con The Alcove, por su estilo, menú y precios. Un lugar bastante agradable, con un gran patio adornado con plantas, dándole un toque más acogedor. También hay mesas dentro del lugar, pero a mi parecer, recomiendo sentarse en el patio para hacer la experiencia más completa. Amplio menú de desayunos, almuerzos, cenas, aperitivos y licores. El servicio es algo lento, por lo que lo recomendable es separar mesa con tiempo si no quiere hacer una fila de al menos 20 minutos. La comida es de muy buena calidad, buena mezcla de sabores y posibilidades. Mi plato llamado Blue Crab Omelette $ 14.95 consistía en pimientos, una deliciosa salsa que armonizada perfectamente con el sabor de los huevos y el cangrejo. Acompañado de tostadas papas o fruta. El segundo plato fue un Breakfast Burrito $ 9.95 –creería es el mejor que haya probado — la tortilla tiene la apariencia de una tortilla integral, rellena de huevos revueltos, tocineta ahumada, fríjoles negros, quesos, acompañado de salsas y papas o fruta. No es un lugar de todos los días dado a sus precios, pero muy recomendable para aquellas ocasiones especiales o para darse un gustico lujoso de vez en cuando.
