Just a nice old man who really knows his craft and charges much less than the huge store across the street.
Yes may be he is a little gruff but he’s from the ‘old country’. His store has really cool vintage watches and jewelry and I would recommend checking it out. You can also ‘bargain’ with him on the price… He’s that nice!
Highly recommended! if you need watch batteries, minor jewelry fixes, he’s the person to go to!

I like Hooshmand and I have him fix and clean all of my vintage watches. I have a few omega watches from the 40s and 50s that I bring to him regularly. Sometimes I scratch the crystal, sometimes they need a cleaning, once I broke the second hand and once one of my watches (that I bought on ebay) just stopped running. He fixed them all and for a very fair price. Once he fixed a watch and a few hours later it stopped working again. I brought it back and he fixed it in 2 days for no extra charge. I think he is a very nice, kind man and he is fair. I also love that he is from a different generation of people who learned a craft that he loves. He is a good guy. I don’t know if I would bring every new, super valuable watch to him, but he specializes in the antiques and he does it pretty well for ¹⁄₃ the price of a fancy watch store.

I hardly ever write reviews — this is only my third — but I needed to give my watch buddy a boost in his ratings. He may be a little gruff in his demeanor, but he is actually very sweet and extremely good at what he does; it’s as if he’s from another generation. His store is full of amazing antique clocks, as well, if you’re into that.
I work next door and brought my old Fossil watch to him (which was recently repaired by another watch place) because it just stopped working one day. I assumed the battery was dead; he tried the battery and told me, no, he didn’t think it was the battery, but the watch was just broken. I gave him my sad eyes; he replaced it regardless, blew some canned air and mojo into it and voila, it started working again. He charged me $ 6 for the battery and I went home. About an hour later, it had stopped again. It was a very old watch that had been very good to me for about a decade, so I just sadly accepted the fact it was, in fact, dead and retired it.
In the meantime, I bought a new (Fossil) replacement watch off ebay, and I took it to him to get a new battery. I brought my old Fossil watch in case he could salvage the crystal or the battery (he couldn’t; they were different sizes). He did, however, take 2 links out of the old watch and put them on my «new» watch –I have large wrists, I guess — and replace the battery, all in a few hours — for only $ 10. Bargain!
Some may be upset that he keeps irregular hours (I had to pop in a few times to see if he was open), but to me (again, being right next door), it only adds to his adorable old-​world European charm!
Walking into his shop is like walking back in time a bit (no pun intended), but if you can accept this fact, I highly recommend this business.

I really don’t get the negative reviews. I used to be a Feldmar customer but I’ve been going to him now for the past few years. He has a very interesting collection of not only watches but a lot of other things. He has fixed a lot of watches and clocks and even jewelry for me for a fraction of the cost of Feldmar and I have never had any issues afterwards. GO TO HIM… he is a sweet man and very reasonable.

I’m not understanding the 1 stars… He fixed my watch from Thailand that two stores turned away because it was too much work. He also took out a couple links to make my watch fit my wrist. All of this for $ 15. Nice man!

Stay Away! I asked him to fix my watch which I had dropped and it stopped running. He did get it running, telling me that it just needed a cleaning. That was fifty bucks. However I had also told him that it was running about a minute slow per day, and he said he would fix that and he never did. He sold me a leather watch band and the two leather loops that you put the strap though after buckling it fell off. He told me not to pull on them. I said it’s almost impossible to pull on them,. You just slide the strap through after pulling it back to hook it. He gave me another one. The same thing happened. He glued it, then suggested I sew the loops together before putting them back on myself.
The worst thing is… I gave him another watch telling him very clearly that if he couldn’t repair the Day/​Date, then I didn’t want him to do the job. He wanted $ 200 to clean and repair the watch; told me it’s worth about $ 1000. He has had the watch finished for at least two weeks, except he is telling me he cannot find the Day/​Date disks that need replacing. He can’t or won’t use the internet to find parts globally. I really had to hold my temper. I am going back today to pick up my watch. I don’t care how much work he has done on it, I do not intend to pay him anything. People like this have to realize that there is a price tag on their customer’s extra time spent having to deal with thoughtless and dishonest people.

No no no no… do not buy anything from this guy. Do not let him work on your watch or clock either. Don’t even let him put a battery in your quartz timepiece. Yes, he has some interesting stuff in his shop, but no price tags. And some of the watches were put together by scavenging parts from other watches. Buyers Beware. People in search of repairs go elsewhere.

We have had the same experience as the above two reviewers. He says he can fix it, then doesn’t do anything to the clock and tells you to come back on a certain day and it’s still not done. He promises he will repair it that day and calls you and then never calls you. NEVER bring your clocks or watches here. His store looks great, but he has no follow through. I don’t know how he can stay in business.
