Easy and nice to deal with. Reasonable turnaround and a parking lot that can get pretty full. I didn’t get lenses with a prescription so can’t comment on if one needed those.

I had no idea how much it would cost to replaces lenses in my existing frames, but WOW!, was I surprised to only pay $ 25 for each! When I asked if I needed to come back tomorrow for them, the very friendly gal said, «If you can wait 15 minutes, I’ll make the first pair and you can see if you like them.» So I got TWO pairs of new lenses within a half hour, spending my time trying on new frames with another friendly salesperson.
On top of it, I used the Unilocal deal and got $ 20 off. Just bought one for my boyfriend so he can get some lenses there too.

have gotten glasses from here a couple of times and they were great. then the last time they broke my husbands frames and didn’t tell us for over a month. they told us to bring in another pair and they’d do them and then when we did they charged us again and only gave a small discount!

Amazing service and good prices. Everyone working there was you and hip with cool style (That really helps when you are picking out glasses.) Yet the business still had a family owned feel.
They have a diverse selection of new and vintage glasses. The prices stated at $ 20 for some old generic frames and went up to $ 300 for some vintage designer pairs.
Lenses were also reasonable prices. The cheapest was $ 25. I went for a mid grade with coding and it cost me $ 55.

These guys are awesome! I needed to get the lens replaced on my glasses. Of all the places on the east side, these guys had the best prices and reviews. Emmanuel and the staff were so genuine, caring, and the price he quoted to me on the phone 2 weeks prior was the same from another associate when I walked in. Got my glasses back in 2 days and they looked great, and only paid $ 35 total after using the $ 50 for $ 30 deal they had. An overall awesome experience. .. these guys rock!

Hye Optic is a great family business. This business really helps the time and stress of acquiring those new peepers by passing on decades of skill, and information to ease the new glasses process.
Emmanuel, Rita, Mel, Ben, Karen, to name a few of the family, do old school customer service: friendly, nice, patient, and sharing knowledge to assist your choices without condescending attitudes.
With a wide range of lenses in every price range, anyone can be happy. The latest optic equipment to test and measure, including a new digital lens creator for the most modern lens is quite a plus. The digital lens provides a larger corrected viewing area, i.e. looking through your digital eye glasses increases clear vision looking off to the sides and up & down. When I compared my old non-​digital lens I had changes of angles and more loss of focus when not looking directly foreword.

First off Mel was friendly and gave her honest feedback on all the frames I tried. She was knowledgeable and made the whole experience enjoyable.
Hye optic has the most current eyewear and sun glasses at good prices, that work with anyone’s budget.
Also supporting a independent eyewear store makes me feel better than spending money at a chain eyewear store.

I have been to Hye Optics 3 different times and bought glasses and put new glass in sunglasses. The service is excellent and personal and the work itself is outstanding.

Finally stopped by Hye Optic to get my sunglasses repaired and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The girl working there was very polite and after I explained my issue to her (my sunglasses were sitting crooked) she took them to the back room and had them out for me in five minutes! Now my glasses sit straight! Super affordable, cheap glasses repair. Very high quality work, easy parking, and a price that I couldn’t be happier with. Thank you Hye Optic, I will definitely be back for future glasses needs.

Found this place — it is a GEM now I can replace all my vintage eyeglasses with the right prescription. Affordable and friendly staff — just that parking is challenging

I’m going to give you the quick rundown:
I needed my sunglasses to be turned into prescriptions:
LensCrafters = $ 220 polarized, $ 160 non-​polarized.
Random Optics = $ 240 polarized, $ 130 non-​polarized.
Hye Optics = $ 80 polarized, $ 30 non-​polarized.
(Prices should vary per frame I think)
I went ahead with hye optics, and they had my glasses made in 30 minutes! The competitors wanted at least a couple of hours up to 5 days.

The best people and the best (brick and mortar) prices I’ve found by far – all combined with an extraordinary selection of frames. I discovered Hye on the recommendation of a friend after a local Beverly Hills shop wanted to charge me 3X what Hye was offering for the same exact work! I’ve already ordered my next frames. This place is a keeper, for sure.

Seriously … I have never experienced better care at an optical shop. I have a weird prescription and my progressives are prescriptionless at the top. I can’t tell you how many times I have had other opticians counsel me to just get single vision despite my clear statement about why I wanted progressives. Not an eyelash was batted … I KNEW it was a reasonable request. As many other reviewers have pointed out, they don’t accept insurance and … again as many others have said … they turned out cheaper anyway. Got the lenses replaced on my old glasses too. Unlike other places in town, no attitude at all about me bringing my own frames in (purchased on eBay for ¹⁄₃ retail), in fact, lots of compiments! :)
I can’t single out anyone from staff because they all rock it.
Here’s the best part though — after less than two weeks I dropped my fancy progressives in the jacuzzi at a hotel. If I had any sense I would have jumped in immediately fully dressed but, instead I watched as they spun around for a moment and by the time I returned one lens was destroyed. Because they were so new Hye replaced that lens for a fantastic discount. I will never go elsewhere.
Did I mention my seven year old wants to stop in and say hello whenever we are in the area? Yes, that friendly.

Very helpful staff, lots of reasonably priced selections.
Staff was kind enough to let me know I could get a free eye spray if I checked in, and another employee was skilled enough to estimate the millimeters between my pupils.

So, finally, real, grown up, and gorgeous glasses happen, yeah. Thanks to the cool dude at Hye Optic, I scored two really nice pairs and at a very reasonable price too. Their selection is huge, but we got through the pile quickly because we liked a similar look. Now, the trick is not to lose them right after I got them for that would be a shame.
So glad the five-​star reviews on Unilocal were not exaggerated!

I didn’t get his name, but he is the cutie with the glasses. Super friendly, super helpful, and what a great Unilocal deal. I used the deal to replace my sunglass lenses with polarized ones. I’m supposed to pick it up in a couple days, so I will update my review then! This is my second time getting polarized lenses for these particular sunglasses. The first place I went to gave me some semi polarized, warped ones. Hopefully, this place will do it right!
This place is located upstairs in the corner. Parking can be tight and full. However, I was able to park quickly on a Saturday afternoon.
Tip: They don’t accept insurance.

I found Hye Optics through Unilocal.I was in need of new glasses due to a recent eye infection that made me contemplate wearing contact lenses. I wanted to start wearing glasses more often and contact lenses less for comfort and health. Having always shopped at Costco for my vision needs, I was lost as to where to go for a wide arrange of spectacles at an affordable price. I am glad Unilocal lead me to Hye Optics. They had just what I needed.
Upon entering, I saw soo many glasses — cases and cases of eyeglasses! It was awesome to see so much variety but it also a little overwhelming. I didn’t know where to start. But very quickly, an associate saw what I was currently wearing and started pulling likable frames. She knew my style! I thought that was amazing! Within 10 minutes and trying maybe a dozen frames, I found the one! The frames were $ 80 and my lenses which supported high power and astigmatism cost $ 100, but with the Unilocal deal, I got $ 20 off and a check-​in gift. Nice!
I’m excited to wear my new specs which should be ready in 4 – 5 days which is pretty quick since they do everything in house!

I was on vacation and looking for someone to complete my makeover. I was hoping to find someone who would take a faxed RX from my optometrist verses having to get another exam, but this place also offered exams so I covered both basis.
Next I needed fast service. I wasn’t going to be in town long so I needed a 24hr turn around. This place offered this.
When I walked in the women was very friendly and helpful. She pulled out frame after frame that would work for me.
In addition they have a bathroom they let you use. In this neighborhood you never know.
They were in the middle of remolding when we were there. It didn’t really bother me as I wanted glasses and didn’t much care what it looked like or what it was going to look like as I was on vacation and probably wouldn’t be back.
When I walked out of the place I was happy as can be. I went home with a brand new pair of frames. I did learn one thing two weeks later. If you get half frames you need the frames to have nose pieces if you have a high rx or the frames will dig into your face. This is operator error. The next pair has nose pieces.
I would recommend this place to other. It was perfect for my needs.
