An outstanding OB/​GYN. Excellent care. Very informative, helpful. She takes her time. It is not like any other doctors visit. Where I am seen and sent out on my way. She really cares to make sure any concerns are addressed and answered. She is one of a kind doctor. Please do see her. You will definitely recommend others as well. She did not deliver my baby but she came on her day off (Saturday) to visit me at the hospital after my bundle of joy was delivered. No doctor takes the time and day just to visit a patient of hers on a weekend.
Crème de la crème

Initially, I was pleased with service, but unfortunately, the experience has gone drastically downhill. 1) she sent me for a diagnostic exam and would not return my call for weeks with results (after she’d said it would be 48 hours). 2) I received a bill for the visit, which was supposed to be covered as preventative. I called the number on the bill and was told that they weren’t the billing company for the office, and that their number had been added without an agreement to handle billing. After talking to my insurance, I found out that I was charged because the office used the wrong codes. A huge waste of time and I won’t be back.

My complaint is for the service the doctors office provides. I only met with Dr Gould once and the meeting was fine. Her office is horrific. Literally, every single person you will speak to will give you a different instruction and conflicting information. After making 5 calls to the office, I got 3 people telling me a doctor would call me back (this never happened). The first time I called they told me to «come on in» for the appointment and then told me they couldn’t see me once I got there. The last call was the most frustrating because I got conflicting information from 2 people on the same call. The management of this office is a joke and the employees are misinformed. Disappointing doesn’t even begin to describe the incompetence of this office and the lack of respect for wasting the time of their patients. I like to support local businesses, but man, this place is horrific.

I had a great experience. The office is calm, the staff very good. Dr. Gould is a great communicator. Test results, options and recommendations were explained. Grace, her nurse is a very competent advocator and well organized.

Dr. Julie Gould has been my favorite Gynecologist. She is straight and to the point, yet still very thorough.

I highly, highly recommend Dr. Gould. I saw her last week after not having seen an OBGYN in a few years, and I came to her with many concerns and an anxiousness about what the answers to those concerns might be. She was extremely professional, warm, friendly, and kind — heck, the whole office was. I seemed to be the last patient of the day, but I didn’t feel rushed at all, which is definitely something I’ve experienced at other places in the past. Both the nurse that took my blood pressure and weight as well as Dr. Gould have a very kind and professional humor that eased me right into feeling like I was going to be taken care of. I was actually smiling most of my appointment!
After listening to my long-​winded explanation of what was going on, she patiently gave me a thorough and thoughtful response, as well as many suggestions about what we could try to sort out what was going on with me, ranging from trying basic over the counter medications to prescriptions to surgery, so I felt that I had options and could not only listen to her but also do my own research independently. I will definitely be going back to see Dr. Gould in the future.

Dr. Julie Gould is fabulous! Her caring attitude and years of experience made my prenatal visits very informative and quite enjoyable. She took the time to thoughtfully answer my questions and I never felt rushed. She is also a great listener and her advice was always helpful. I would highly recommend her, she’s a wonderful doctor who is also a warm and positive woman who will walk with you at each stage of your pregnancy!

This review is overdue. I came to this office because I had family pact coverage through my school which means services are covered by the state. That being said, the first visit was nondescript and left me with neither positive nor negative feelings about Dr. Julie. However, her office happens to be less than a mile from my house so I came back out of convenience. My second visit (Nov ’14) for my annual woman’s exam was horrendous! Not only did I have to wait 45 minutes after my appointment time to be called into an exam room, I was told to undress (the air conditioning was on high btw) and waited another 20 minutes before she finally came into the room. What really upset me was that while I was waiting, I could hear her talking in the nurses station right outside my door about her plans to purchase a newer bigger home. She went into detail about how many more bedrooms it had and how big the pool was, cabana house etc. She mentioned that her kids had finally moved away and that she felt it was time for her and her husband to upgrade to a nicer more expensive home…(yes, she talked about the price too… I just don’t remember the amount) Meanwhile, I’m sitting on the other side of the door naked and freezing! When she finally entered the room, she nonchalantly apologized for the wait. She then said she couldn’t seem to find my chart from the last visit and that I may have to wait a little longer for them to find it. I told her I’d already been waiting for over an hour and I didn’t want to wait any longer. Noticing that I was clearly upset, she did the pap exam and that was it. No breast exam or any other woman’s wellness checks. I was shocked at her apathetic attitude. I can only assume it had to do with my family pact coverage. However, please note that just because I didn’t have to pay for her service doesn’t mean she didn’t get compensated by the state. She treated me like she was doing the work for free. Unacceptable and unforgivable. If I could give zero stars, I most definitely would!

Recently moved to Los Angeles and stumbled upon Dr. Gould’s office in the Marina. I couldn’t have been luckier to have found her!
She was professional, caring, and made me feel very comfortable. The staff was very nice and I was in and out quickly, which is very important to me because of my job.
I absolutely recommend Dr. Gould!

UNPROFESSIONAL OFFICE!
First of all, this is my very first negative review on Unilocal.I have no idea if Dr. Gould is a good doctor or not because I never met her. I was eager to meet a new OB who actually took insurance and I showed up 15 min. early for my first appointment in order to fill out paper work. After waiting one hour and confirming that there were still TWO people ahead of me, I decided to leave. When a doctor is running well over an hour late for a 10 a.m. appointment, that is just downright unprofessional. I expect doctors to run a little late, that’s par for the course. But at the rate things were going, it would have been at least 90 minutes late, if not more. I’m sorry — but we are ALL busy and no one can afford to sit in a waiting room that long.

My second appointment with her is in a month, but I’m knocking down a star from my previous review because I called a couple weeks ago with a crippling 3 days long migraine that I wanted advice on and left a message with her care team and never got a call back… And then I called today to verify my appointment for next month and I kid you not the receptionist could barley put a sentence together her English was so broken.
Anyway, I’m hoping my second visit with Julie changes my mind… But I am still pretty upset about no one calling me back when I needed help.

I originally wanted to make an appointment with Dr. Lipeles as I had seen him last year and seemed like a great doctor. He wasn’t available and because I just found out I was pregnant and I was then going out of town, I decided to go ahead and schedule an appointment with Dr. Gould. She was really nice. I suffer from migraines and take prescription pills. I asked about this during my appointment and she said she was not sure about that drug and would let me know.
Two laters for my first ultrasound and she did not ever get back to me on my migraine medicine. For my first ultrasound, she never changed the name on the machine so it reads the name of the previoius patient I assume and my first picture of my baby is with someone else’s name. I asked again about my migraine pills which she then remembered she had forgotten and had to leave to look it up. She advised that I should avoid taking them unless I really really needed to. I also asked about what foods to avoid and she said sausage because you shouldn’t eat raw meat. I was not aware that anyone ate raw sausage.
The following week, I got four migraines. Damn hormones! I called concerned as I am not able to function and I was cutting my pills just to take the edge off. She gets on the phone and then says, she thinks that’s ok. if i need to take them. I then asked, is there a safer medication I can take because I don’t want to harm my baby. She said she would call me back after she looks into it. 17 weeks later and still counting and still no call. NONE. Thanks for the follow up.
Yeah, after not receiving a call the next day, I found a new OB/​GYN and he’s amazing. If the only thing you want is nice, Dr. Gould is that.

I was very displeased with the service that I received at this doctor’s office. During my 45 minute wait in their waiting room, the girls up front were on the phone with some restaurant, loudly complaining and getting into an argument with whoever they were on the phone with. It seemed very unprofessional to be having the kind of conversation in front of all of the patients in the waiting room.
After waiting, I was taken back for basic questioning by one of the nurses. Not only was the nurse rude and dismissive, she seemed incredibly judgmental. After speaking for 5 minutes, I went back to the waiting room for another 10 – 15 minutes before taken back into a room to see the doctor. Dr. Gould was very nice, however, not very helpful. I went in for a problem I was having and explained all of the things I had done to try and resolve it. She was the 3^rd doctor I had seen for the problem and I was hoping to get another opinion and new suggestions on things I could do to get to the bottom of it. However, she performed the same tests the other doctors had given me, and offered no additional information or suggestions. In fact, she told me that she had no idea what could be wrong with me, point blank. On top of everything, I received a $ 500+ bill for the services she performed that day.
After getting no help from the doctor, I ended up taking myself off of a medication and it immediately resolved the problem. It seemed like a pretty obvious idea and it was frustrating that I had asked if that could be causing the problem and she dismissed it.

I just transitioned to Dr. Gould after a negative experience with another local OB-​GYN. She was thorough and really listened to everything that was going on with my health history and concerns. I felt like I was in capable hands with a doctor who treated me as a person not just a patient #. I will be highly recommending Dr. Gould to friends and family in the Los Angeles area. This was a very positive experience for a process that can be very stressful.

I just moved to the Marina and was looking for a woman OB/​GYN and found Dr. Gould.
I had my first appointment this morning and am so glad I found her. She is new to the area so had availability & I got in no problem.
Dr. Gould made me feel really comfortable (even though the first appt with a new gyno is not a comfortable experience), plus she was just great to talk to and super nice. She gave me plenty of time and I will definitely be back to her for my next annual exam.
The office is nice, as well — and convenient if you live on the West Side.
