Ever since i moved here in the valley 2012 No one has cut my hair except Kevin coz he listens and gives you full attention when doing your haircut, thank god i found this gem; just totally recommend him!!!

Because there’s not a good place that cuts Asian hair in Boston, I’ve been craving for a good stylist that knows what to deal with my mess of hair for quite sometime now. Now that I’m in LA, I felt like I should take advantage of the many awesome Asian hair salons here, and Kevin came to my rescue! He was recommended by one of my friends and boy he truly worked his magic! I was taken to be shampooed at 12:40 and was out by 1:10! He was quick and professional I wouldn’t be happier!!!

This review is for hair stylist Judy.
Those who are trying to grow their hair out from «extremely short» to «extremely long» know that the «in-​between» length is a nightmare.
I highly recommend Judy for the following reasons:
1. Judy layered my hair so that it requires no styling to look good. Shower and go.
2. The cut is easy to style in case you need to.
3. She taught me how to style my new hair, with hands-​on practice, so that I can recreate the look she gave me in the salon.
4. The layers she put looks good months after the cut.
5. And it is relatively cheap!

I LOVE this place. I noticed that my hair was falling out more than usual about 2 years ago and my friend recommended me this place because they have a procedure called «bubble spa», which is basically a deep scalp cleaning. Ever since then, I noticed that my hair is falling out less, especially in the shower. Kevin’s wife is usually the one that does the bubble spa for me, which is basically an hour of deep cleaning and massage. Once it is all done, my hair feels nice and clean. She usually gives me great advice about how to keep my hair clean so that my hair doesn’t fall out as much.
I also get a haircut from Kevin every 6 months and as all the reviewers have mentioned, he is amazing. I usually give him a length that I want and he goes to work and works his magic. He is also the one that convinced me to get side bangs and he was right, it does look better for my face. Overall, a great place to go.

Kevin definitely does major damage control.
My mom won’t trust anyone to touch her hair except him.
I recently got a bad haircut at another salon. When I went to Kevin for help, my weird bob-​mullet amalgamation was transformed into a cute bob with smooth side swept bangs. No more looking at the mirror and feeling sad!
He speaks little English (or maybe he’s just not a talker? Bummer, I wish I could converse.) but he lets his work speak for him. Definitely bring pictures to show what you want. He does a pretty good job getting it close. I can also say that he’s good at taking on two clients but makes sure each looks their best (an applaudable feat!).
His assistant has the gentlest fingers when she’s styling your hair. It’s amazing!
Pricing is affordable. Women’s haircut is $ 35 – 40. I’m still trying to find a stylist I can stick to, but this one seems like a keeper.

To be honest a lot of times I don’t know what my hair dresser was telling me, but he sure knows what he’s doing and very fast.

I really enjoyed my experience at K Beauty. However, they always work on multiple people at the same time and it almost feels like a rush.

Kevin, he is the man. This man works hard, loves his job and is very talented. What you can expect from K Beauty: your gps might lead you to the wrong location, but don’t worry you’re near and if you’re uncertain just give him a call. It’s on the Arco side, you’ll know what I mean once you’re there. As far as your hair goes you bet it will be flawlessly executed by Kevin and his crew.
Bring: cash money or credit cards ;) I’d also bring a few photos of what you’d like done to your hair. He did exactly what I wanted and tailored it to the shape of my head beautifully. The total time for my hair cut was almost 45 minutes. Kevin showed me techniques on how to style my hair. He works rapidly, but carefully. There’s plenty of parking and it’s a comfortable clean salon. I saw they also have a manicure table in the back so you can get your nails done too. My friend recommended me to Kevin and now I pass the torch on to you. Prices of the hair cuts are reasonable, which is nice because I can leave bigger tips!

How many of you have gone to a salon and said «just a trim», but end up getting more than you expected chopped off? And then of course go home in a panic and say «ahh sh*t my hair is TOO short!!»
That’s been my experience until I met Kevin! :) Now I won’t go anywhere else! He’s the only one who I trust with creating any style I want. He makes sure my layers are on point and always adds the perfect side swept bangs. He listens to everything you ask, even when it’s a confusing «keep it long, but a little shorter, plus add lots of layers». I know, it sounds confusing, but he totally gets it! Highly recommended and some of my friends and coworkers are now regulars here!

good price ($ 25 for male haircut, shampoo) and good service. the owner squeezed me in when i was passing through the neighborhood. he also has mad skills, he did my hair /​w scissors, a comb, and clippers without any attachment.

Really great experience. Kevin and the rest of the staff were amazing and super nice. I took my teenager there for a specific hair cut/​style that was inspired by a popular trend in k-​pop culture. We brought a photo to show Kevin. The cut was exactly what we were hoping for: full of complex, dynamic layers, and super flattering. This salon is pretty affordable as well! Would definitely recommend.

First barber I have gone to in awhile that was not the pricey Étude Lounge in Koreatown. As many people here have suggested, I went with Kevin, who was the only barber present anyhow.
I was only able to verbally describe what I wanted done, and despite a vague idea of what I would like, Kevin was able to give me a great rendition of what I was looking for.
I have incredibly thick, wavy hair for an Asian, so I think he thinned it out a bit too much. I did not enjoy the way Kevin styled the hair in the salon, but when I got home and placed my own product in, I was much happier.
Overall a good cut for a good price.

Kevin’s been my stylist for the past couple years and I’m finally getting around to writing my first review on Unilocal!Glad it’s for Kevin. I’d like to keep it short and simple, but there’s a lot to say.
I’ve been to a lot of different places during my search for a hair salon and Kevin was the the only stylist that I really liked. I have straight Asian hair and the back of my head is FLAT. I’m not joking. One of my friend used to make fun of me and used the back of my head as a table for his drink if I ever sat down looking at the floor. The back of my head is ridiculous, but the way Kevin cuts my hair gives the back of my head a more rounder shape.
Kevin’s a great stylist and I love how he can work with so many different styles. During these past years, he’s done a great job when I asked him for a fauxhawk. Then I had a period where I wanted combovers. Then during my first year of college, a period of time when we all make bad decisions, I had some random student ruin my hair for $ 5. Well, Kevin helped fixed that up.
Now I’m going through this pompadour phase. When I started showing him pictures of models with pompadour haircuts, he recommended me to get a perm since my straight Asian hair was hard to style that way. I kept pushing it off because of the price, but I just finished finals and it’s spring break, so I decided to do a spontaneous makeover. I have to say that I am VERY happy with the results.
What makes me really happy to come here is not only do I get great haircuts, but I can see that Kevin truly loves doing what he does, and when he finished my haircut today, that smile on his face just showed me how proud he was. He’s definitely earned my loyalty and he’s the only person I recommend to my friends when they ask.
NOTE: I’ll admit I’m pretty bad at this and walk-​in half the time, but call in and make a reservation beforehand! He can get pretty busy because he’s been so popular.

Never use a regular scissor!
She used the thinner scissor for the entire cut! Wtf?! I have never seen that before.
Very unskilled. $ 25 for the cut. I gave $ 5 tips and that would be the last time I go.
Very unhappy with the result.
Please don’t go to this place, there are better place out there! Santa Monica has tons of skilled Asian hairdressers.

I guess Kevin has a great reputation, but I’ve only been to K Beauty for my nails. Angela occupies a comfortable corner of this salon, and she is a straight-​up mani-​pedi artisan.
I’ve been three times now, twice for wedding events. The salon is in a nondescript strip mall in deep Northridge, but the interior is attractive, clean and welcoming. The mani-​pedi stations are well kept, and Angela seems to run them by herself. She books up as a result.
I’ve been thrilled with my nails every time I’ve left. I’d never gotten gel done before, and it is a production, but the nails last forever. Angela removed my first manicure with foil and alcohol (an awful process, really) and I just clipped my second, somewhat mournfully. I got a fancy French tip so while my nails were annoyingly long, they still looked great almost a month later. For my wedding, I got some simple nail art on fingers and toes. Angela did an amazing job, and it was pretty fun to watch her work.
Gel manicures are expensive, but Angela’s prices are comparatively reasonable. A gel manicure and a regular pedicure run $ 45. You could pay a lot more elsewhere, but your nails couldn’t really look better.

I finally found out this is where Mr. Kevin Lee moved to his own salon.
For a whole year I was sad because I couldn’t find him.
I went in last weekend to try something brand new; it was just time for a change with my long straight hair.
I got a trim, perm, and color, which turned out very nicely. This does not happen very often for me, being happy after visiting a hair salon I mean. Mr. Kevin and his nice assistants gave me deep mahogany red waves, which he taught me how to style. (photo included)
His great results are why I looked for Mr. Kevin after he cut my hair over a year ago.
No one else has given me good hair that I love.
The salon facilities are nice, too. There’s a water dispenser and coffee bar in the waiting area along with sofas and magazines near a large sitting table. (photos included)
I’ve found my hair stylist to loyally visit like people in the movies do!

Kevin is amazing! I usually have bad haircut experiences but I was in dire need of a haircut. After doing a lot of research, hearing from word of mouth, as well as my own sister’s great experience, I decided to try this place.
I just wanted a trim, a little layers for my long hair, and side swept bangs. Kevin definitely delivered and more! I am happy with the outcome! What I liked the most was he listened to what I wanted and he didn’t criticize my hair like the other places I’ve been to. Nor did he try to sell me products saying «oh your hair needs this, buy this.» I hate when hair salons do that! But not this place! Everyone is so friendly from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave!

Finally! I now have my go-​to hair place. Kevin cut my hair and he cut it exactly how I wanted it. I was weary at first because I thought my hair would only look nice in the first 24 hours, but even after washing it the cut still looked great on me without all the blowdrying, straightening and product. Very precise and knows what looks good on your face.
I called and was able to get an appointment the same day (Saturday). Don’t freak out if they answer phone in Korean, you have the right number. You’re usually in and out in 30 – 40 mins for an easy trim. Wash/​Dry is included in the price. Total was $ 35.00 plus tip
