Outdoor ambience is perfect. Service is perfect. The price is perfect. Unfortunately, the food is not that great. In fact, it’s probably one of the most mediocre tasting Korean bbq taste. I will go back, because the ambience and price are good, but I’m not going back for a gourmand experience.

Keeping it short and simple. My first time eating Korean BBQ happened here at k town. Food was amazing. The outdoor dinning in the back was very surprising. I recommend it to anyone who has not tried kbbq.

K-Town BBQ is now DISTRICTBBQ&LOUNGE. The restaurant renovated their interior, and feature a new menu, but still have all-you-can-eat BBQ in the back patio.

I am a big time K-BBQ. Let me give you a glance at my resume: Tahoe, Road to Soul, Corner Place… etc. So I Came in today and ordered the all you can eat BBQ for 9.99. Which is a damm good price. However, I would rate the beef as 3 out of 5 stars. not too sure why people rave about it. Other than that everything else was about average. Nothing to complain cuz the price and really nothing to talk about. You got your standard side dishes to mention the kim chi was hella good. Other than that its a good place to eat for the price and no line. I would however check out the places on my resume also.

So me and fellow good friend and Unilocaler Joe R. were suppose to meet some friends at Worstcoochie, but they were running very late and we were very thirsty and hungry. So we walked around and saw this place had $ 1 tacos, so we jumped on it and damn if those weren’t some tasty ass tacos. We tried a steak, chicken and pork taco, my favorite was the pork, and this place even had some kick ass chips and salsa. We went on a Monday at 8, they had the game on a large TV and guess what? They had 2 for 3 Hite Beers, so by the time I left here I was in a great mood. Our total bill for the 3 beers and 6 tacos was $ 23, so yeah I’m coming back soon.

It was my second time eating here before I decided to write my review. It is consistently a good value good taste and good selection all you can eat Korean BBQ. It’s situated in the Artist District next across from Wursckutcshe. For the«basic» $ 12.95 option, you get tacos, 6 different seasoned meats to choose from(I like beef, chicken and pork belly best), salad, all the sides like a potato salad, kim chi(eck!), soup, all kinds of veggies. And… you get Hike beer(a big ‘ol 40 too!) — buy 2 get 1 free. One highlight to me is the cute outdoor patio where you eat, great for LA summers and BBQ.

I agree with the reviewer who expressed mixed feelings about K-Town BBQ. The $ 9.99AYCE lunch special is undoubtedly a good deal piecewise, but less than excellent quality-wise. THEPROS: Good value; very attentive service; tasty, abundant banchan appetizers; decent place to scarf out for lunch(you might not even need dinner later); nice little outside dining courtyard; novel«cook it yourself» concept; the setting is casual, unrushed and relaxed. THECONS: The outdoor setting means you’ll be constantly battling flies(ask for a stack of extra napkins to open and spread over your platters); a continuous loop recording of 6 mediocre pop covers(this means you’ll hear each song about 5 times during a typical lunch – it can drive you a bit batty; the beef is a little bland due to absence of marinade. K-Town isn’t on the same level as many of the Korean BBQ places in Koreatown, but it nonetheless rates a solid three stars. The food is fresh, and you get a lot for your money.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. The first dish I tried was the bibimbop, and frankly, I didn’t like it. It may have been the kimchi, which is a taste I haven’t acquired, but the veggies used were non-traditional(in line with the advertised«fusion» style of the restaurant) and I wasn’t a big fan if the whole, poorly cooked mushrooms. More recently, I went with friends for the $ 9.99 all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. I was pleasantly surprised! The sides were good — my favorite was the half-mashes potatoes with raisins and carrots. The cheap price isn’t because of lowered quality, but rather a limited selection of meats — 4 choices(bulgogi, brisket, spicy pork, chicken) compared to other Korean BBQ joints that give you many more for 2~3 times the price. I liked the bulgogi and brisket, wasn’t a big fan of the spicy pork, and the chicken was fine but it’s just chicken. For the price, I will definitely go back. But if you really want a great Korean BBQ experience, there are other restaurants nearby with far better quality and selection. The service was great, the waitress really helped us, and I love the little outside eating area in the back. Perfect place for a nice day.

Came to this place for the first time for lunch during work. Didn’t really know what to expect since I’d never heard of it. Anyway… they’re apparently more than just a Korean BBQ place, because they had kalbi burgers and tacos on the menu. When I saw that the tacos were only $ 1 each(fish tacos were $ 1.50) I just had to sample all of them :) Their choices were chicken, pork, beef, calamari, fish, and a vegetarian. I got all of them except the vegetarian. Anyway, the tacos were tasty, and definitely filled me up. Lots of meat on them topped with skinny fried wonton strips with a spicy sauce. Overall, tacos made a great lunch! My 2 coworkers ordered the kalbi burgers which I got a bite of… tasted ok. I wasn’t «wow-ed» by them though but maybe because I was already stuffed from the tacos :) Waitress was pleasant and friendly as well. So, I’m not sure about their actual korean bbq food but at least their tacos got 4 out of 5 stars.

Love this place! We were headed to the place next door, but they were closed for remodeling. K-town BBQ really reminds me of a place I went to in Seoul. I will be back, often! the meat was good the service was great the price was FABULOUS!

I love this place! I still haven’t had the Korean BBQ. I go because I crave the tacos. They still have buy two(large) Hite beers, get one free. The tacos are $ 1.25 now but well worth it. They’ve added fried fish tacos(for $ 1.50) and they are awesome!

When i first walked in here, i thought«man this place looks janky…» its small, it doesnt have integrated grills, ventilation looked terrible, and lets face it, after a week of having Star BBQ( ) and Hae Jang Chon( ), its going to be a tough act to follow. But! I was pleasantly surprised. The SKINNY! One waitress served about 12 of us. They put out one of those portable stoves and this ironclad grill. I was just thinking this place has got to be some low quality ishhh. Dam was i wrong. The food was great stuff, waitress did her best to serve us, and every one of us had a great time. I’m definitely coming back. But why 3 stars? … The FOOD: My group got the cheaper option, 12.95, which meant less options. What we got though, i loved. I’m definitely not the biggest fan of beef brisket. I like it, but its definitely just a starter and i wouldnt order it more than like… twice. But this place had some LEGIT brisket! Fatty where it counts, meaty and delicious everywhere else. Hot dam was that some good stuff, i regret not ordering more! Their pork shoulder was definitely tender, chicken had a great spicy rub on it, and really overall, nothing was tasteless. But the star really is their tacos. Their tacos are FREAKINGOOD. Definitely a fresh take on the usual AYCE kbbq. Best part? Their tacos are all you can eat too! what a deal. What a meal. But why the 3 star? because they ran out of brisket. The Service: Very friendly waitress. She was patient with the 12 of us, and did her very best to make sure we had food on our tables. Really this one waitress was all this place needed, because be forewarned, its a small place. They do have an outside patio though, that’s kinda neat. 3 stars, whaaa?! It seems like this review would garnish a better star rating, but if you’re serious about AYCE kbbq, you’d drive an extra 10 minutes to Road to Seoul or Hae Jang Chon. Overall, if i want some kbbq on a budget, i’d hit up K-Town BBQ. Those tacos made it all worthwhile.

Yummy! My husband loves the 99 cent tacos… we’ve dined here a few times while hosting Plei next door. Seating on the patio is the best… great ambiance on the patio with superb heating system for ppl who despise chilly weather(like me!). 2 person minimum for AYCE so make sure your lunch/dinner date is up for it as well. The prices aren’t so bad if you order individually(unless you have a crazy fierce appetite). The raisin potato salad stuff is delicious and the seafood selection is my fav(calamari steak, cod, and tiger shrimp). Washed it all down with lemon soju, mmm mmm great! It’s fun dining with a group with everyone sharing the meal. The staff was always very helpful especially since I’m a K-BBQ newbie :)

45% Pretty decent, nontraditional approach to AYCE K-BBQ. Absurd policies, & sub-par service keep it down. Their marinades are heavy on black pepper, as opposed to being sweet & garlicky. For me this works a lot. Usually I can’t stand traditional beef bulgogi because of the excess sweetness in the marinade, but here I love it. Whether or not this is the authentic way to do things, I could care less. Quality is surprisingly decent for the brisket meat. They don’t come out on those iffy frozen rolls. This place takes the cake as far as having the best brisket so far imo. Chicken and pork dishes were ok, nothing special. I didn’t like the fact that the cuts of chicken were so small. They also seemed to use the bulgogi pork marinade for their chicken, which I don’t think works well. Was also kinda strange they offered 2 different cuts of short-rib/kabli. One looked like frozen tongue, and the other non-bone in short-rib. Sucks that there isn’t any bone-in short rib. The chewy multi-grain rice is awesome! Banchan/small dishes are so-so. What they should have done imo, was to give AYCE customers tortillas, so they could make their own tacos. Dining area is fine, and it’s nice to eat outside. Did not have shit fall off the trees and into my food like other reviewers were complaining about. Price was decent, iirc $ 17.00 for AYCE, or $ 15 with a $ 4 beer/other alcoholic drink. Think the prices are higher, for some strange reason during the weekends(not very wise imo) and are @ $ 20/head AYCE. They also have the ridiculous policu whereas you need 2 people minimum do to the AYCE, beware! Beer selection wasn’t great, but at least they had Stella. Tacos aren’t bad, but they have an eerie pricing policy. 99 cents IF you eat in. it’s $ 1.25-ish if you take out. It’s almost as if they force you tip either way. Very tacky. Taco portions are also a bit small. Because I have a larger than average appetite, I had to eat more than a dozen to get full. For me, the AYCE is a better value. Service is slightly below average, but not offensive. Location is within 5 – 10 mins of the 5, 10, &101 freeways, traffic willing. Parking takes a bit of effort depending on the time of the day. Can be difficult to have lunch here, unless you have at least an hour. Recommended, unless you’re a traditionalist k-bbq nazi. Also be careful of their strange policies.

**********$ 1 Kbbq Tacos in Jtown… BABY!!!********** ~DOLLARTACOSBABY! 99cent tacos? This aint no Jack in the Crack or Taco Smell. this is a quaint little kick back place that had an outdoor patio where you could get your KBBQ grub on. The tacos are actually a buck. Yup, a whole penny more than the 99cent places. ~Anywhoo Anywhoo… the guy could not really get our order right. He somehow brought some grose diet coke. I had to exchange mine. Also, no silverware. Man oh man. ~Tacos Man oh man is right! These tacos were bursting with a ton of meat and veggies. Dang right you need silverware. I wasn’t going to waste all this plump juicy meat and fresh spicy tasty kimchi. No way Jose. Squid was grose. I hate squid. The only thing squid are good for is dumping ink all over the place. This taco might be good if you are a squid fan. but I am not. I bet these are yummy if you like squid. For a buck a pop. these tacos were on fire and screaming my name. What a deal. I do wanna come back for some outdoor Kbbq. This place was more than AOK. I am a fan! Plus. they have booze.

I can’t really complain too much because the tacos are cheap here. I forgot how much, I think about $ 1 each. I got 5 different tacos(kalbi, chicken, squid and some other tacos I can’t remember). I only remember one of them is vegetarian. either kimchi or tofu. The tacos were alright but they were cheap. I kinda like how you could turn the top of the table. What’s wrong with the soda here? My coke didn’t really taste like coke. Nick H wanted to eat BBQ outside but I didn’t want to smell like BBQ that day. Maybe we’ll go back some other day to try their AYCEBBQ. K-Town BBQ tacos are kinda yummylicious for the price!

Forget giving ZERO stars, is there a way to do negative stars? Seriously, fuck this place. Why? Mean ass food poisoning; burning the candle at both ends if you know what I mean. How do I know for sure it was this place? Because two of my other friends got sick… not as violently as me, but hey, coincidence that we all felt like shit the day after. Also, this place is whitified/hipsterfied as much as you can get. I guess if you’re scared of hanging around and being served by a bunch of slanty eyed people, then this place is for you. The meats were bland and for the price, there are a ton of rad Korean places that are infinitely better. Service was fine. Alcohol prices were fine. Everything else is at the level of shit and vomit that came out of me that night. Eloquent no?

Meat cuts — of the right size and thickness so you don’t have awkward chewing/tearing moments sitting across from your buddies. Meat quality — overall, pretty decent. Marinated items didn’t always taste marinated. Outdoor patio — TERRIBLEIDEA. The terrible part is because the tree that covers the ENTIRE patio drops cherry-pit-like seeds all over you. It hurts your head, it goes in your water, your ban chan and onto the grill. Wonder if they’re poisonous! We had to protect our sauces with napkins. They had no umbrellas or ideas on how to remedy the situation(I suggested helmets). I wanted to move inside, but they don’t do KBBQ inside because they have no vents. Service — Like others have mentioned, they are inexperienced with real KBBQ and AYCE crowds, seems to cater to those on their first KBBQ venture. We definitely kept them on their toes getting refills of everything. C’mon, a bunch of asian kids walk in and we don’t know how to order AYCE?!? The real K-town is just a couple miles away.

«THE Korean BBQ for Non-Koreans» I think this is the mission statement. Just a few weeks from opening, the owner took over Blue Dahlia. We were lucky enough to be invited to a tasting menu event that Amanda L. organized very well. Our tasting menu consisted of 23 items to try for the evening. My initial thought was Korean BBQ, bring it on. In this area many different types of restaurants have opened up to start up the area as more and more people are moving into these lofts. I’ve never heard of this before but a couple of people have already said they don’t go eat KBBQ without a Korean. To them it just seems unheard of like it’s a rule. It does get intimidating when you get service that is like, order now — no wait. Other times you get a taste of something good but you want to order it again but don’t know what it’s called so you need someone to tell them what you are looking for as your next dish. Well, look no more, all your troubles and worries are about to go away. It’s an extensive menu that is in the works to be refined upon opening day which is in a few weeks. It’s for those who want to experience KBBQ and don’t want to go all the way into KTown just to get intimidated by crabby waitresses. There were 4 banchon to sample, bean sprouts, julliann radishes, kimchee and potato salad. This may be preliminary but in our menu, we’ve started out with Cha dol and Sang Kal Bi which is Thinly Sliced Brisket and Boneless Short Rib. I had originally thought one of my fellow Unilocalers would have beaten me to this review.
