Friendly, quick service, carefully-prepared and presented meals, fun takes on traditional fast food fare — it all adds up to a classy experience at this truck. The factor that knocked this review from a four up to a five is the price. The swift inflation of truck pricing has driven me away from trucks more and more lately. I was able to get loaded chili cheese tots and apple-jicama slaw for $ 8(see photos)! The grilled onions and sliced jalapenos were an especially nice touch.

Keep on Grubbin makes regular appearances at The Saturday Food Trucks here in Santa Clarita. I’m kinda over the«food truck» thing, but I keep going because my dogs love to sit outside on a Saturday night. LOL The things we do for our dogs. I’ve tried the pulled pork a few times, sometimes its amazing, sometimes its a little fatty(and underdone). The apple slaw is great, however the apples would be much better shredded and not cut into big wedge pieces. Awkward to eat. Same goes for the tater tots. Sometimes cooked perfectly, sometimes raw. Now I ask for them«well done». The chicken pesto is flavorful, however it would benefit from a little mayo mixed in with the pesto instead of straight pesto. Too greasy. Also, not a fan of HOT lettuce on a HOT sandwich. Wilted and not good. Replace it with spinach or arugula, greens that hold up better to heat and taste good wilted.

I must say, what a nice little gem in the midst of many food trucks. I ordered the Turkey Melt… it was amazing. Avocado, some sort of Aoli sauce I can’t remember, slaw, grilled to perfection. Tasty. I’m not a McDonald’s fan by any means, but I know how delicious their fries are… and the fries that came with my meal tasted distinctively like McD’s version of this fare… except with parmesan and garlic :) My gf ordered the LA Burger(not sure of the name?). It was extremely moist and juicy. Blue Cheese crumbles abound. Arugula and other good stuff on a sesame seed bun — nice, you never see that anymore. Goes to show you can still make an excellent burger without having to fork over extra cash for«artisan» bread. Finally, the folks running this truck are as friendly as I’ll get. They’ll even give you the recipe if you ask how to make your fave dish. So happy to have explored the other trucks in the area. Will definitely make it a point to visit again!
