Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration

Being in LA and LA courthouses is pretty neat. This is an Administrative building but in an area across from the main Court house in LA.
The only thing I hate about my visits to LA is parking. I mean I hate traffic, pedestrians, etc. but I mean parking is a bear. $ 12 for parking 2 hours. Come on!

About once a month they hold a Blood Drive with the American Red Cross in one of the upper level conference rooms from about 9am-​3pm. You get juice, snacks, a nice view, and maybe a coupon for something else (Quizno’s? Didn’t they just declare bankruptcy? Oh well…)
It was my first time donating whole blood and everyone agreed the technician was good (I have easy veins, so you mileage may vary). The blood drives are open to the public; remember to bring your ID. You can use Temple entrance uphill or take the Hill entrance and walk through.

County Government. Eh. Parking is a nightmare and once you get into the building good luck finding what (or who) you are looking for. The County Board Chambers look like something out of a movies from the 60s — stark, bleak, and not much signs of hope. Arrive early to find overpriced parking and locate your meeting destination. Then, depart as quickly as you arrived.

As far as bureaucratic offices are concerned in the City of Angels, the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration is not so bad. Well, if you like going in to pay for your county property taxes every year haha
Annually, i have to trek my way up twice through the busy, mean streets of Downtown LA to render payment for my company’s property. As anywhere in the area, parking is a non-​issue since all the close enough coin meters are already taken up and you are reduced to paying for a primo spot nearby. However, i usually park a few blocks away whenever a metered space is available… it’s not bad to take a nice walk
Once you get inside, the payment windows are to your left and after a slight wait (depending on which day you get there), you go to your assigned window, give the county its money and leave. Minus any wait as a result of an influx of people before the tax D-​day, you’ll probably spend no more than 5~7 minutes for the entire transaction. The window agents aren’t as mean as their colleagues in other departments. You’d probably know which ones i’d be referring to ;)
So yeah… not much of a big fuss when it comes to this government office. i’ll be back around April for the next payment lol

this is a review of the cafeteria in the basement. most of the county buildings have lost their cafeterias so i dunno why this one is still here. maybe cuz the board of supervisors are the almighty and have made it so: P this is where the board holds its all day supervisor meetings so if ur ever stuck in one, u might want to eat here. i will stress *might*. it’s cafeteria food. and of all the cafeteria food around in this area, it might be the most mediocre. *however* the one bright spot is that it’s one of the few cafeterias where i can get brown rice and stir-​fried fresh veggies (they have an «asian» station).
