I tried a hot chocolate from Kerckhoff Coffee House today and it was disgusting! It had milk in it, but it did not taste like it! The drink was bitter and not sweet at all! ! I would not recommend anyone try their hot chocolate!

This place is great! Good vibe, good place to study. Sometimes service is a bit slow, but overall still a nice place to hang out and get coffee!

One of my favorite spots in UCLA. I usually get the late and a blueberry scone, and stay around to study. On Tuesday nights they have a stand up show after 8 and impromptu performances throughout the week. The line gets really busy during lunchtime, so I would avoid it if possible. Come early or late in the day to find an empty table. Most of the staff are students are really nice, always courteous and pleasant.

Even though I do not live in LA anymore, whenever I am in town, I just love to go back and sit here in this café, sip on my tea or coffee and admire the warmth of this place. What makes this place so exceptional to me is the beautiful architecture, the comfy chairs, the colorful stained glass antique windows and the tall ceilings. They have an array of café options, from ice cream to coffee and tea, but it is definitely the ambience that elevates my experience in this café and not the food. It is located in the middle of UCLA and you will see the bruins here sitting down busy with their homework. It is huge but always crowded. I just like to go and walk in the pleasant walkways of UCLA to this café. On Monday nights during school time(not on breaks), a band plays here in this café and that is my favorite time of the week to go see some talent show. Some of them are really talented and amazingly good performers. I always wonder how far some of them will go. All in all, I absolutely love this café, I look forward to any opportunity I can get to go there, specially on a Monday afternoon.

I love Kerckoff. Always accessible and always a great cup of coffee. The outside patio is a great work place. Anytime I’m on campus this is my go to hang.

Decent place in the middle of campus to study or grab something quick to eat. The prices aren’t too great and the quality of the food/coffee is just average, but it’s convenient and the interior has a nice atmosphere. They sometimes have live music and performances(I think Monday nights?), which are cool. They recently got rid of the Baskin Robbins inside to allow more room for serving coffee. If it’s during finals or midterms(a.k.a. any week except first week because let’s be real midterms happen every week), don’t expect to find a seat inside unless you a) get there when it opens or b) push someone out of their chair so you can sit there. The first option just isn’t very viable for my lifestyle and the second option isn’t recommended if you’re trying to make friends, so you’re basically forced outside onto the patio, which is still nice apart from the fact that the chairs weigh 587634 pounds and make the most terrible sound when you try to move them. If Kerckhoff is full and you’re looking for somewhere inside to study, I’d recommend the study lounge on the floor above. They have a bunch of couches and tables and these really nice reclining chairs that are perfect for naps if you have a break between classes.

No shortcut through Kerckhoff is complete without the tantalizing aromas of ambrosia wafting over from this coffee house. I remember my first memory of this place was redeeming my free coupon for an iced drink that I got from the ASUCLA tour during orientation. After that, it has been that place that I always pass by and can never decide whether I should grab something to drink or not. Too many decisions. On top of deciding my major I have to deal with this? The inside has a decent amount of seating, but since this place is a popular study spot, you rarely find seating inside. Outside, the patio chairs and tables are dirty and uncomfortable. Not much else to say about that. The workers here are always extremely friendly! I never feel that bad about selling my soul away here. On certain nights, you can hear a band playing inside, or try your luck with some poetry!

One of the best selections of drinks and pastries on campus. Great place to go if you need a breather and some air conditioning. However this place is also insanely popular, so plan strategically if you want to study here or just sit down and enjoy your food. Smaller groups fit in easier, and off-peak hour seem to be late in the week in the afternoon.

Kerckhoff is one of the better coffee places near campus. The coffee is decent, but the ambience is amazing. Once in a while, they have performances too! On regular days this place is not too loud. All in all, I would visit this place more because of it’s atmosphere and ambience.

Good place to study, bad place to order coffee. Unless you like to pour lots of sugar and cream until your black coffee is nowhere recognizable again, order lots of coffee. Every time I order coffee here, I think maybe it will taste better. Nah, it still has not improved significantly. But to be fair, I am pretty sure there is little(if any) variance amongst the coffee beans on UCLA’s campus. Why does it get three stars then? Because of the ambiance, convenience, and their pastries are not terrible. Inside, there are tons of tables, fast UCLA Wi-Fi, and beautifully stained glass windows. As long as you’re here for a coffee shop experience, and not the coffee, then you have come to the right place.

Food and coffee is substandard and it gets pretty loud in there. They’ll have live music sometimes in the evenings which is nice, but it is impossible to actually find a table to sit at, and if you do then it’s generally dirty. Then again it’s very convenient and good place for group meetings. I find myself going there, but I don’t remember the last time I actually bought something there.

Student made coffee will always suck. The sandwiches are that expensive everywhere on campus. And yes, it’s hard to get a table. Take a second in line to enjoy how insanely pretty this campus is. Then march yourself outside to our 90% chance-to-be-gorgeous patio. No patio? Go to the art gallery next door or the study lounge upstairs.

Love studying in and around this place. Honestly, the coffee is pretty mediocre and it’s borderline impossible to find seating to study in the main coffee shop area(I swear no one ever leaves), but they usually have a decent number of pretty tasty donuts in stock, and the seating outside and in the upstairs study area is typically pretty open. They also offer extended hrs(with 24hr study areas) and free coffee after 9pm during 10th and finals week! It’s only mon-thurs though, so don’t try and study all night Friday, cuz they’ll kick you out.

Reasonable place for coffee near all the dining options. Perfect for grabbing a latte on the way back to mindlessly cleaning Erlenmeyer flasks or whatever. Perfect, because what other options do you have? I was at UCLA for a conference and had an espresso here most days. Service is pretty quick despite being crowded and the espresso drinks are passable. Nothing worth chewing your foot off for if you were, say, caught in a wolf trap in the Topanga canyon and needed to stay alert, but drinkable nonetheless.

Cute spot located on UCLA’s campus. Service is fast! I ordered the iced mocha which was great. I loved the music(playing old Maroon 5) and the building was lively and packed with students!

Coffee: As campus coffee goes, Kerckoff is pretty good. I admit I have an infinity for the coffee on campus here at UCLA. Then again I suspect that is simply because I drink it so often that the taste is familiar and therefore good. Atmosphere: Love it. Very Bohemian meets College aesthetic meets hole-in-the-wall music lounge. People: Always nice, always efficient, always friendly.

Kerckhoff is a staple for UCLA students. Lots of tables to study(even though it’s kind of hard to get one most days), plugs, WiFi, and caffeine. The coffee is not super great, but it does the job. It’s in a good location in the middle of campus, and the patio outside is great to catch up with a friend or even just to sit and study(or people watch).

The atmosphere is nice, though it seems impossible to find a seat. The drinks I’ve tried have severely underwhelmed me. The iced cappuccino royale had super burnt espresso. The strawberry cream latte(workers call it tea latte) was not a latte at all… It had no foam, just scalding hot milk. And just tasted… weird. Should not be on the menu. The iced coffee was okay! Woohoo! +1 star for being on campus & having a Baskin Robbins inside.

Yay! Love this place. It really has the feel of an old Ivy League coffeehouse… it has those old iron framing on the windows :-) The setup is old and rustic, and the tables are small and appropriate for the coffeehouse. It’s very busy, but I was able to quickly find a seat. Some of the people can be really loud, especially that fratboys, but luckily, I just got a new pair of Bose earphones, so it was perfect. I got a vanilla ice blend, which was DELICIOUS. Not sure how many calories, or whether it fits within my paleo diet resolution, but whatever. But seriously, great feel, great drinks, great location. Wifi is also lightning fast, but you do have to sign in to the UCLA system.

I am a big fan of coffee houses and Kerckhoff Coffee House does not disappoint. I’ve loved this place ever since I was a student at UCLA. With its nice dark wooden walls, chairs and tables, this place just has the whole cool, quaint coffee house vibe. It’s a perfect place to grab a muffin, a coffee or tea and just enjoy reading the Daily Bruin. It’s also a good place to meet up with friends. Apparently, I am not alone in my admiration of this coffee house because it seems to be always crowded. It can be hard to find a spot to sit at. However when there is an open spot here, be sure to grab it and just enjoy this nice coffee shop. Grab a pomegranate green tea or a pumpkin spice latte and a pastry and you’ll be sure to love this place just like me :).
