This is a real pool hall. You can pretty much do anything, the tables are so clean. It’s a really fun atmosphere, everyone’s kind of messed up, there’s a beautiful ashy smoke cloud the whole time. Don’t bring the kids. The later you come the more fun it is. Be prepared for parking difficulties, this is Koreatown, all in all.

Koray is my favorite pool table in Ktown. They have a pretty good table and ball are clean. The music is a little too loud and the worst is they just let people smoke in there(even their workers or owner) so if you dont smoke I wouldn’t recommend this place cuz you will comes out and feels so bad with your nose.

you’ve gotta be 18+ to be here. They don’t have booze 7 smoking is not allowed inside. But people bring their own beer cases & ignores the ‘no smoking’ sign. So you better be 18+(I don’t mind the beers, but I don’t know why the management isn’t strict on smoking?!) Boards are getting old, but like almost every other people said, their balls are really clean. They have a rice cooker kinda thing to clean the balls! Beside the weeknights, the place is almost empty most of the times. But I don’t like the music(gangsta-rap) they play most of the time. Even if you request, they won’t change the music. And yeah, the customer service suck over there. But I go there to play pool, not eat. So who cares. I don’t smile at them, they don’t either. :) No cards under $ 10, so you better play for an hour. You’ll need to bring your ID to leave it with them. parking is a mess after 6pm & Valet parking is $ 2 cash. Street parking is a day-dream.

Don’t come here if you’re thinking you’ll impress your friends by taking them somewhere totally happening. They will brand thee a liar. This is not that place; in fact, it’s one cigarette burn away from disintegration. Koray is the tactless and imperious uncle who chain smokes in front of the kids and wears corduroys in 2013. It is special in the baldest sense, like the pair of stinky black chucks you finally just got dirty enough. What you’ll get here are convenience and consistency– they’re open all the time, the tables and balls are flamboyantly clean, and customers aren’t pestered. There are pool tables, Gatorades galore, Snickers bars nonsensically jammed into beef jerky compartments, and places to sit when you are losing: really you can’t go wrong. But if you’re expecting red-carpet treatment, tufted velvet sofas and employees who wear 15 pieces of flair, or any of those other trappings you might find at places that cater shamelessly to the trendy guy, go to Starbucks. Koray will close its doors before selling out. Five stars for myopic pride and shiny, shiny balls.

Great for groups — especially if you want some wholesome fun. it’s $ 15/hour regularly, and if you come during happy hour — it’s $ 12/hour. They have: Nice, shiny, and clean balls and tables. It’s a little hazy there though. Clean restrooms Clean place A charger when I needed it. Thank you! They have sodas, water, Snapple, etc if you want to purchase. Sorry, no liquor license. There’s plenty parking — not really sure if there are valets, since we showed up around 2 am. They’re open until 5 am. Wasn’t sure which was the correct one — since there were two places right next to each other.

Around $ 8 an hour. Lots of tables, only tables here. Empty during weekday nights. Weirdly next door with pool tables without holes was super crowded with crazy looking pool sharks. Con: Small parking lot. Meter/street parking. Not the nicest billiard place but they really take care of their balls here! They were super shiny for some reason. PS It gets pretty hot here for some reason with all the lights. No on there but us. No A/C?

$ 18 an hour for one person. NO. I don’t think so. I came here last night and will never come back again. Even $ 18 an hour for two people, isn’t worth it.

$ 18/hr. Set the alarm for 30 min and was charged 11 instead of 9 dollars. Not a huge deal but still feel slighted…

Came here on a Thursday night and we almost had the place to ourselves! Pros: clean, clean bathroom, easy to park in the strip mall, half off happy hour downstairs, BYOB or whatever you want, tables in decent condition, well-lit. Cons: can get smoky, a little pricey($ 15/hour), but they have to recoup cash for not selling alcohol. The staff and clientele seemed very chill. I’d return.

Very Expensive!!! This place has really good tables and sticks but is just way too expensive honestly. I like to practice by myself a lot so 18 $ an hour really does some damage to my pockets. This place has absolutely no business before 8pm. They should have different rates for different hours like most pool halls due. Like 10 $ before 8pm and 18 $ after 8pm. That would make a lot more sense and maybe give them some business in the afternoon hours. House of Billiards on Ventura charge 5.50 $ an hour before 7pm. Even though its about 20 miles further than Koray. It would save me some money. If Koray changed their afternoon hours I would be a regular and im sure business would boom.

If your looking for a chill place to play some pool with couple of your friends then this is the place to be. Its not crowded, loud, or smokey like most of the billiard place.

Drove around with some friends looking for a place to shoot pool. You would imagine there are a lot since that’s what Korean people are big on. One thing to note is that billards doesn’t always include pool tables(the common table people play). Luckily this place has pool tables. There’s free parking in their private lot, hidden in the corner upstairs. There’s actually another billard place 2 doors down but no pool tables. The owners are Korean but the crowd seems to be very mixed. Tables are old and it nearly looks and feels like a dive bar. What was interesting was that they don’t sell any alcohol but shhhh… people just BYOB from the markets nearby. Service is good, they also sell some snacks and drinks at the counter. Price wise, it’s $ 15 a hour which I think is really expensive. $ 12 is probably the most I’d pay usually. This place IS kind of ghetto but I will probably come back here until I can find a better place. Good place to hang out with some friends and chill out for the night.

Koray Billiard has the shiniest balls in land! Dive-y, dive-y pool joint that’s BYOB and unfortunately allows smoking. Found one spot in the strip mall parking lot. Koray’s is located in the upper left floor, accessible by a small stairwell. It’s got a black window wrap round the entire inner wall so you can’t see who’s inside. Makes it kinda cozy once you enter the place. The proprietor was chillin in the corner with his laptop sippin tea for a bit before he noticed my friend T and I’s arrival. Gave me time to survey and they had snacks and drinks for sale at the desk. Initially I noticed that they keep their balls in excellent condition while the rest of the joint is clean considering it’s a dive. At the end of another patron’s game, the proprietor immediately brushed the pool table top to remove any chalk marks and the like. Most of the other patrons were young males with maybe 2 other girls in the room. I was having a grand time shooting a few around with T. before another group decided to light up a cigarette. I rushed our game of 9-ball so we could get outta there faster and before I started gaggin from the cigarette smell. Just a personal preference for me, but I can’t stand being enclosed in the same room as cigaretter smell anymore. All and all it was fun to try out a new billiards place with a friend and spend some time catching up. T. paid the tab(about $ 15 for the hour and using his credit card — Visa or Mastercard only) and we were on our merry way. If I didn’t have to wake up early for work, we would have stayed late.

This the place to be if you wanna shoot some real pool. Little distractions, plenty of tables, good lighting, pretty good tables, pretty good cues. They shine their balls regularly, which can make a big difference. It’s bring your own beer. I recommend this place to any pool player in the area.

I’m writing this review from an avid pool player’s perspective… Koray, is a very mediocre pool room. Nestled in a what appears to be ghetto complex, this place is a night time venue. Yes they are open in the day, but this place will stay open til the wee hours of the morning. As much as I dislike playing here, sometimes I am left without much option, in which I will reluctantly come to this room. Pro: — They use Brunswick Centennial balls. Usually with the red circle cue ball, but you can have a measle ball upon request. — I always bring my own set of cues, but for the recreational player, their cues are decent to play with. Generally straight and the tips are actually replaced when needed. — Open late. I’ve played here from dinner time until about 9am before. As long as there are customers they will stay open. Con: — The tables are no name, wannabe Olhausen’s. I am convinced that they are made in China. NO, there are NO Brunswicks in this room. They are not solid by any means. — Yes there is Simonis 860 cloth, but it is rarely taken care of. — Pockets range from buckets 4.5″ to about 41/8″ at the front table. The pockets are not symmetrical. Some have crooked sidings, and some of the plastic sheilds in the rear of the pockets are loose. — They use cheap wooden triangles. With that, the rack is never tight no matter how you arrange the balls. There is a clear space about ¼″ between the front ball and the next two in the second row. This is pretty much the same for all the tables. — Lots of the rails are falling apart. It might be dead from drying out, or it might not be fully clued to the edge of the playing surface. — They used to have free sodas for customers, but now you must purchase a drink. — Although I’ve only seen 2 fights break out here, this is not the place to act like a macho man. As long as you stick to your game and don’t act like a tough guy, you should be ok. -$ 15/hour is way too much. I’m sorry… others have posted that it’s well worth the money to play on Simonis 860 covered Brunswick Gold Crowns… WRONG. There are NO Gold crowns and no place should be $ 15/hr for the equipment they offer. I can name 5 other rooms in LA that have way better equipment for a fraction of the cost. — No day time or single player rates. They should have single player rates at a discount otherwise who in their right mind will be $ 15/hr to practice alone? — No action. If you are a money player, go somewhere else(see my other reviews for a guide of LA pool rooms) With all this being said, It’s an OK room at best. If you and 5 of your friends wanna bang some balls around for fun, sure that can work. If you want a serious pool session, this place will only frustrate you. I don’t hate this place, but it’s not on the top of my list of pool rooms to go to. If you claim that they have some of the nicest tables in LA, then clearly you are NOT a real pool player.

I can’t stand smokers, especially those who smoke indoors at public places. Koray is a haven for these individuals and it drives me nuts. At the same time, Koray has the best tables and balls around. At $ 15/hour, the price is fair for what you’re getting. They have a great ball cleaning machine that seems to be on all the time. The balls here are always shiny and smooth and you know that’s how I like them. The cues are not too bad either. I just wish the underaged smokers wouldn’t force me to inhale second hand smoke when I’m trying to have a good time.

This was a decent place to play some pool while not trying to take it too seriously. The demographics of people coming here tend to be around young college kids to mid 20 somethings which both does not include me. Yep, I’m the old guy in this room. It was pretty obvious from the get-go that I was going to stick out like a sore thumb. I guess it’s a place where a lot of the young ones hang out after KBBQ, play some pool here, and then hit up the night cap at a local karaōke place. This tends to be the middle connection to their ritual. There is nothing remotely professional about this pool hall. It doesn’t resemble a pool hall at all. Just maybe a room with dozen pool tables all around the room. The cue stick is very standard with the surface of the pool table needing a re-surfacing. The vibe of the place is filled with hip hop music and some cigarettes smell throughout the night. I think we got a complimentary soda drink with our rental rate of $ 12/hour for our pool table. I dig it when they have Dre on the playlist. It’s time for me to go when Soulja Boy is on. You really can’t take it seriously coming here to play pool. It’s more of a place that youngsters come here to socialize. However, that does not mean it is not filled with hustlers and pool sharks. Watch out for those guys.
