Kypseli Greek Dance Center At the Tango Room

I have been going to Kypseli for years– not as much in the past two years since they moved to this new location. They’re the same ones who were in Pasadena for ages.
If you have ever gone to a Greek Festival, and wondered where those dancers on teh dance floor learned those complicated steps, this is the answer! Kypseli is where you need to come every Friday evening! Especially 1^st Friday of the month where it is beginners classes and you’ll learn taverna dances. At times, there are special events, where tickets are $ 15 — $ 20 with live band. But regularly it’s not even$ 10 to attend a class for one hour, and then dance for another 2! They are there ONLY on Fridays.
It is not a posh place, but you learn traditional dances, island dances, and mostly a good Hasapiko! You know that famous dance from Zorba the Greek!
