The enchiladas were delicious. So was the Tasajo ranchera. And the Mole Tamales. Muy rica comida. The service when I went has always been quick, but I go during work hours for lunch. Still, the service is quick enough for me to be in and out in 45 minutes. Portion sizes are enough to fill you up considerably, especially the plates that come with tortillas. I like the bright colors of the tablecloths and the décor. The plates could use an upgrade, as they are made of cheap plastic, but the food is undoubtedly good. I recommend the mole tamales, and the mole Coloradito with chicken.

This is one good Mexican restaurant in Ktown. They have authentic food from Oaxaca, their flavors are tasty and homey. Everything I’ve tried so far is really good! the place is pretty small and a lot of regulars the waitresses are polite and check on you regularly. Really enjoy their horchata must try if you want to feel like you are eating authentic and home made dishes!

Came in for the famous caldo. After ordering waited approximately 40 minutes and the food not arriving I stood up. There was an older man working I’m guessing either the owner or manager he approached me in a rude manner and told me to sit down almost in a forceful way and told me that the food was on its way. I sat down the food did arrive but it was Cold and fatty or oily. The cup of water I ordered was dirty but not as dirty as the floors it’s a small place it shouldn’t take much to keep it tidy. I would not recommend this place and would definitely not step foot in there again.

I am very happy I found this place and made it my home for breakfast on my days off, it’s a small restaurant with nice ambience. They are very friendly, but what I love the most is the authenticity of its flavor in their recipes. Like I said this is my home for breakfast, it’s flavorful my mouth melts on every bite of my «HUEVOSRANCHEROS» & «SALSADEHUEVO» accompanied with the traditional«BOLILLO» yum is sooooo gooood!!, they use fresh ingredients I can tell by the flavor. They definitely don’t use any canned salsas or anything like that like other places, everything here is home made style. The staff are very friendly, the place is always super clean and you can pay with credit card.

This place is a hidden gem. My friends and I LOVE mexican food. We were down in Korea town for a day party we wanted to get a bite to eat. I looked up some places on Unilocal and found this place. We walked in and had the best service. Everyone at the table got chiliqulies(spell check). They were AMAZING. Words can not express the joy my mouth felt with every bite. Only down fall they don’t have alcohol. Other than that it was amazing. If I’m in Korea town I will most definitely go back!

This is real Mexican food. I had the birria and my wife the memelas one of secina and taza. The birria was one of the best I have had in the U.S. The memelas even after being full we wanted to keep eating. The place looks clean. The air conditioner was weak but besides that everything was great including the service.

This place has absolutely no sense of customer service. I was planning to use the restroom first and then order some food to go but someone from the kitchen came out and stopped me from using the restroom and told me that I had to order first. I was very upset at their attitude towards customers and left.

PARKING: free parking but its tough since its small parking area shared by all establishment. next to california Donut PLACE: MEXICAN style. it’s clean, no one dining in. the place is pretty empty, most of the people take out or to go .I been here couple times and i see people buy and have it go instead of eating in there. SERVICE: the one serve is pretty nice, she throws smile and i always like that when people know how to smile. she showed me the menu when I ask for the tamales. and explained whats the difference . FOOD: since i have been here before and tried their tamales before. And since i am passing by i decided to try their tamales again. I dont like the other tamales they offer so I will review only specific tamales i will buy in this place and would def recommend. * TAMALES: tamalaes oxaqueno de mole: I really like this tamales, its different from other tamales i normally eat in husk of corn. this one is wrapped in banana leaf. the last time i had this one before i believe last year its so much flavor. today its a bit different. its a bit too sweet and less flavor, but i still like it although i prefer before. overall the tamales is very moist not dry they charge 5 $ for it and it’s a but the price too high compare to other places .but its good to try!

Love this place! I’d rather come here than La Guelaguetza(something like that). Small but better food, better service, better atmosphere. I love their horchata!!! I highly recommend this restaurant 100x more than La Guelaguetza!

Caldo de Res run to cure a common cold. THEAMBIANCE: I was Unilocaling Caldo de Res and La Morenita Oaxaquena Restaurant came up as a top pick so we decided to try it out. La Morenita is in my old neighborhood so any time I am in the area it brings back memories :) The area around La Morenita is a little«hood» but I have never felt unsafe. The restaurant is small and nicely decorated. There is a good amount of seating and they were playing really good live music. I enjoyed the ambiance of this little restaurant. THEFOOD: The Caldo de Res and Camaron Al Mojo de Ajo were chosen off of their three-page food menu. The Caldo de Res at first taste, without the ingredients they provide, is a little on the bland side. They give you a small plate with lime wedges, diced jalapeño, cilantro, and white onion. They also give you a basket of warm tortillas and a side of rice. Once the ingredients were added to the broth it tasted better. The Camaron Al Mojo de Ajo was okay. The platter came with whole black beans, rice like the one offered with the caldo de res, and a salad. The whole black beans were my favorite. I enjoyed dipping them in the garlic sauce where the shrimp were. The rice was also a little bland but it was not bad. The salad on the other hand was more like a plate decorator because it was like — bleh. I did like, however, that the salad is topped with a nice wedge of avocado, which I ate. My only true disappointment at La Morenita was the tortillas. They came out half hard and when I made a taco with a piece of shrimp, beans, and rice, the tortilla broke apart and the juice fell all over my white blouse. It sucked. I was not a fan of the tortillas here. THETIPS: The menu is not too pricey(about $ 10.00/$ 13.50 for entrees). I paid about $ 30 for two(2) entrees and two(2) huge glass-bottled Sprites. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Sprites that large. There is parking in the little plaza but not that many spaces.

Came here for one thing, and one thing only: Caldo de Res I started my culinary adventure by sipping on the caldo itself and I was happy to savor a rich and flavorful broth. As I made my way through the vegetables I could feel with the tip of my spoon a big hulking piece of meat at the bottom of the bowl. I used my spoon to bring it to the surface and sure enough it’s the biggest piece of carne that I’ve ever seen in soup! It’s tender and delicious and I shamelessly use both hands to eat away at it. With every bite I have to make sure it’s juices don’t trickle down my arm. As usual I leave the corn for last, and as if the meat wasn’t enough, I bite into the corn and it’s juices burst and spill all over the table. The elote had been soaking up all the soup like a sponge, and I had finally relieved it of it’s misery. Ambience and décor are great, but food makes this place.

I was looking for good authentic Mexican food on my way from downtown. Happened to find this on Unilocal and went. Communication was a little hard since I’m not good with Spanish. The dining room area is very small only three tables so if might be best to order out. The food was amazing! The beans were perfection, chicken was great and the tortillas were super fresh. The soaps were also fantastic! And even the hot sauce was one of the best I’ve had. So perfect and price was super cheap! 11 for my meal.

I was raving to my friend about Oaxacan hot chocolate while we were grabbing some treats at California Donuts. And, as luck would have it, this place was in the same strip mall! We walked in a few minutes before closing and asked if they had hot chocolate. The lady who greeted us said yes and told us to take a seat. I asked for mine with milk and my friend asked for hers with water. I know, not a real hot chocolate drinker. Anyhow, our drinks were soon brought out and well, I was disappointed. This was a much weaker version than I’ve had before. It definitely tasted watered down. While we waited for our change, I grabbed a menu to look. Our CHOCOLATECONLECHE(and there was one with water too) was supposed to come with bread but she never mentioned it or brought it out. I guess she thought we were set with our donuts, but still. Offer it or knock off a bit. She had us pay full price!

A hidden gem. The restaurant is located in a very small run down strip mall with very limited parking. But the interior is actually very colorful, cute and has nice décor. My coworker and I came for a weekday lunch. Not very busy, but not empty either. We both ordered the mole plate with cheese. I’m not sure what the plate was called exactly, but it reminded me of enchiladas. You can order the plate with different types of meat wrapped in tortillas and covered with mole sauce and a side of rice. The mole is also topped with cotija cheese. I opted for just cheese because I was a pescetarian for the week. When we got the plate, there was nothing wrapped inside the tortilla! No melted cheese or anything. All we had was the cotija cheese sprinkled on top of the mole sauce. It was disappointing. But me made the best of it. Mixed lots of rice, red salsa and cilantro into the mole and ate the tortillas. We even ordered a side of beans to supplement the meal. Not bad, but also not worth $ 11. My other friend ordered a seafood soup($ 13). That looked really fresh and delicious. It was big too. Came with crab legs, shrimp, clams and fish. A bit messy to eat though and they don’t offer tools to help you crack your crab legs. Service was helpful. I think I’d come back. I’m not too familiar with Oaxacan cuisine, so I’m curious to try other things on the menu. If you can’t park in the lot, you can probably drive around the block and find metered street parking.
