Love is possibly the worlds best motivator, and it is certainly what motivates Leash L.A.

Owner Alyssa Rosenthal was born and raised in the peaceful mountains of Northern California. With the Trinity forest as her backyard and the family pets as her best friends, Alyssa grew to know dogs as the truest companions, and nature as the best playground. Through the years she has continued to learn about and from dogs, cherishing each opportunity to grow, learn and pursue a dream filled with joy, laughter, respect and most of all love.

Alyssa started working with dogs professionally in 2008. She founded Leash L.A. to continue her passion and love for working with dogs in nature. She is First Aid and CPR certified for cats and dogs through The American Red Cross and has attended many training and dog behavior classes and workshops.

Alyssa and Leash L.A. are so happy to be providing dogs and their owners with professional service straight from the heart.

Alyssa grew up in the small town of Weaverville, California where she was immersed in the outdoors and animal life at a very early age. She grew up with cats, dogs, fish, birds and even a majestic iguana named Freddie. She isn’t afraid of bugs, loves creating art in various ways and adores her goofy Black Lab mix, Beau.

After graduating from Southern Oregon University, she moved to Los Angeles and worked as a makeup artist before realizing that working with animals was her true passion. Alyssa first started working professionally with dogs about 8 years ago and has been fine tuning her craft ever since.

She is an animal rights advocate that believes in the equal treatment of Pitbulls. She is also certified in Pet First Aid by the Red Cross.

Her ultimate goal is to provide compassionate care, training, aid and love to any animal that needs it.

If you’re short on reading time, know this: Alyssa was absolutely amazing and she made me feel so at ease leaving my pup Sawyer in her care. He’s not an easy dog, and yet, he seemed calm and confident in her care. I firmly believe that dogs are good judges of character, and he took to her instantly.
When I had to go out of town for 9 days, I was so afraid to leave my 6 year old border collie/​munsterlander pup, that I was basically a giant ball of anxiety. This was my first experience with a dog walker, and I had no idea what to expect. Alyssa was incredible. She came over to meet Sawyer and he immediately went to her, tail wagging, excited to get to know her. She always sent updates and photos, which made me feel incredibly at ease. I gave her a long list of his triggers (skateboards, large dogs, anything that rolls, etc…) and she put all my fears aside by talking through it with me. I got the impression she genuinely identified with me, and understood my concerns.
My dog seemed really happy, and confident in her presence, which is something I’ve never seen before. I highly recommend her for anyone needing a kind, compassionate walker for their ball of fur.

Alyssa is, without a doubt, THE most attentive, caring, and knowledgeable dog walker/​sitter/​owner/​lover I have ever met in my life. Perhaps it’s because I’ve had more exposure and have met her personally, but she seemingly puts Cesar Milan to shame. Her desire and determination to continually further her knowledge about, and connection with, dogs in general and in a one-​on-​one context is unparalleled.
Alyssa has cared for my sweet little Lucy on a number of occasions. It’s mindblowing how in a matter of days, she seemed to know my dog far better than I even did. She makes a sincere effort to personalize every one of her relationships with both dog and owner, and I can guarantee that both you and your dog will appreciate it and certainly even find an enhancement in your relationship. She not only takes very precious care of your best friend (s) and better half/​-​ves, she will also – in the nicest and most understanding way possible – help you become a better best friend to your dog. To ever trust anyone else with Lucy would honestly be a considerable downgrade, and neither Lucy nor I could ask for someone better to help us in almost every context of our relationship. This woman performs canine love magic.

Alyssa has been a part of Lou’s (our Mastiff) life from the beginning. As Lou has grown into a 200 pound dog, Alyssa helped us train him along the way (even helped break some old habits). Lou is a happy camper when Alyssa comes to stay and dog-​sit. It can be hard to find someone to handle such a large dog and Alyssa does it with ease. I highly recommend Leash.

Alyssa is not only a true professional with the dogs she works with but she genuinely loves and cares about each pet. She takes time to learn about her clients’ individual needs and enjoys getting to know and working with the dogs.
My husband and I have a 2 year old Boston Terrier — he has SO much energy! Alyssa has been a wonderful outlet for him when we aren’t able to give hime the proper amount of exercise; she mixes up his outtings with hikes, throwing the ball, and walks; each time he returns to us happy and perfectly tired. She has also been a miraculous source for us when it comes to training; working with me on structured walks, socialization techniques and commands — it has made a world of a difference in his behavior at home and in public.
Alyssa is knowledgable and kind and my dog is so happy when she walks through the door! I absolutely recommend her services, your dog will be grateful for the structure and exercise and you will love having this delightful woman take excellent care of your furry family members.
