Anna is amazing! Hands down one of the best manicures I have ever received!
I had never really been brave enough to try anything other than a simple one color gel manicure but after browsing through some of the nail art Anna has done in the past I was sold! I came in with a picture of a design and Anna recreated it perfectly! I was super happy with the results. She even gave me suggestions on other colors that would also work with my design in case I wanted something a little different.
Anna has a wonderful selection of colors (gel and regular) with nothing but the best brands. All her equipment is super clean and she takes so much effort into making sure that your nails are perfect every single time. Most places can’t wait to get you out to work on the next customer but with Anna you never feel rushed. She always checks to make sure there aren’t any bumps or dents on your nails which I really appreciate and have never gone to a manicurist that checks for this. At the end of your manicure you receive one of the most relaxing hand massages followed by having your hands wrapped in a warm towel. Not only is Anna sweet and super fun to come and hang out with her but she is also extremely professional. I have never been happier waking out of a manicure. Take my advise and book your next nail appointment with Anna. You’ll thank me later!

I have been getting my manicures with Anna for years. She is absolutely the best! My nails always look fantastic and last a really long time. I usually get biogel, since it’s better for weak nails, and the color last for 3 weeks without chipping or getting scratched. A long lasting manicure is really important for me, I work in a lab and constantly take gloves on and off + work with my hands, which would damage a regular manicure. A biogel manicure is the best I’ve come across.
Anna is a perfectionist and will make sure your nails are not damaged upon removing the polish. She will ensure that the nails are the same length, perfectly cleaned, and will not let you walk out form her table unless your manicure is absolutely perfect. Be prepared to spend some time with her, but rest assured your nails will look gorgeous and will the color will last.
She is very skilled at nail designs. Personally, I prefer the classic one color look, but I have seen her previous work and I was impressed.
Her rates are very good.
Make sure you make an appointment ahead of time, she is always booked, especially on the weekend.

Best manicure ever from Anna!!!
I came in with a photo of the design/​concept I wanted for my nails and Anna was great at suggesting a gel nail polish brand with a color that matched the color in the photo. I didn’t want the exact color scheme of the design and Anna was extremely helpful/​patience while I decided on the additional colors.
Now onto my manicure experience. Most places just can’t wait to get you out so they can work on another customers. But here, it’s literally the exact opposite feeling. Anna really takes her time and makes sure all your nails are the same size and shape. You can tell that she really strives for perfection when it comes to her customer’s nails. She always doubles and triples checks to make sure there’s no bumps or imperfections on your nails.
She’s reasonably priced and offers such a great deal considering how perfect your nails look afterwards. Anna accepts cash and credit, which is great for those who never have cash laying around. The longevity of my manicure, price, and most of all experience are why I can’t go to anyone else for my nails. I highly suggest texting/​calling Anna to make an appointment at (213) 379‑0548.

I had a manicure with Anna Lee, and it was by far the best I have ever had. It’s almost a week later and my nails still look like they were done moments ago. Her attention to detail and commitment to quality is above and beyond what most people expect. I had actually forgotten to tell her a design I wanted, and when I told her after the fact, she graciously went back and applied the design and made it look amazing for no extra charge! I cannot recommend her enough. Very sweet, very talented, and very lovely!

Best salon on the Westside… Hands down!!! Just had my manicure by Anna Lee and absolutely love her! She takes her time to perfect your nails, she’s not rushing the mani like at other salons. Anna gives you her undivided attention. She has nothing but top shelve products such as Bio sculpture gel, OPI, Essie, and CND. It’s so convenient, getting your nails and hair done simultaneously. A one stop shop

Getting a Brazilian sucks, it’s painful and no girl looks forward to the process. However, Meliz is truly the best. She is skilled and able to get the whole process done very efficiently and as painlessly as possible. I’m in and out in 15 minutes. Pricing is reasonable, there’s always free available parking on the street (except for during the hours on the one street cleaning day), and Meliz is the absolute sweetest and best esthetician you will ever meet.

I bought a Groupon for the anti stress facial at this salon/​spa; I had never heard of it before but thought I’d give it a try! The space is much bigger than it looks to be from the outside, and has a nice relaxing atmosphere. Upon arriving for my facial I was offered hot tea. My aesthetician was Leslie, and she was great! My facial was thorough and relaxing. I would definitely book an appointment here again.

This was my 1st visit. They did not bother to call me to say the electricity was out. Really? A salon experience? How? But as I had driven there, and I am pretty laid back, Kyle said that he could still do the color. I believed him, I trusted him and his Unilocal reviews.
As he had absolutely no other clients, we spent 30 MINUTES, talking and I had 5 PHOTOS… I could not have been more specific!!! Ultimately, I think he really just wanted to upsell me on the Bayalage, which would be fine if he actually listened to my color requests. He also said that it was a several step process –NO its not, especially with the ample time of an empty salon. So I leave with wet hair.
When it dried, to my dismay, the ends were WAY overprocessed and the crown was NOTHIN like I showed him. WHAT, the main thing I asked him to do — highlights around my face– was not done until he walked away and I said «uh, what about the highlights we talked about around my face»…his response «oh, good idea.» I had specifically said that the lower locks of hair were perfect — only the crown needed the highlights, especially brighter around my face — per the pics I had layed out for him. The highlights looked like crap… barely there.
NOTE: the owner, who does not cut hair, did NOT even apologize or thank me once for coming in despite the electricity outage!!! NOT the salon experience a girl pays for.
I guess 5 star reviews are too little to go by when selecting a colorist.
Sorry Kyle, you seem like a nice guy, but you totally screwed my hair up and cost me countless hours and dollars. Your owner /​manager just added another layer of anger to the horrible experience.

Kyle is a A-​M-​A-​Z-​I-​N-​G. My hair has never looked this good. He really knows what he is doing. My hair is usually a total frizzy mess, but it was so soft and colored so pretty when he was done with it. Even the next day, it looked so good I was able to wear it down the entire day. I have never been able to do that before.
And bonus: he is friendly and super nice. I am usually uncomfortable and dread getting my hair done, but this was a totally different experience. I will definitely be back!

Who knew such a cool place was located behind these doors?
I went to Lipstick to get a Brazilian Blowout from Kyle, per a recommendation from a friend, and this place far exceeded my expectations! Not only was Kyle an amazing stylist who really knew his stuff, he was also very accommodating, he made sure I was comfortable at all times, he was fun to talk to and the two hours flew by in no time.
The salon and spa itself has a great vibe and cool décor and I can’t wait to go back for one of their weekend events.
Oh, and my hair? I couldn’t be happier!!! I have quintessential ‘Jew Fro’ frizzy curls around my temples that I’m constantly having to spray down or pin back, but now that hair is nice and smooth and I don’t have to even think about it after I shower.
If I could give my experience 10 stars I would, but I guess 5 will do. Go see Kyle ASAP, you won’t regret it!

Went here on a friend’s recommendation. I got a Brazillian Blowout from Kyle who did a fantastic job. I had never been here before and it was a great experience. Kyle really knew his stuff and was happy to share his knowledge and give me tips on how to make my blowout last longer. This place has skin care too, a blowout room with really good venilation, and a hair salon room. There is also a bar that serves drinks on weekends I believe. There is easy street parking on Venice which is a plus. I’ll definitely be back.

Meliz is very sweet and easy to talk to. These guys do everything they can to give you amazing service. Their commitment to being the best they can be really shows in so many ways when I visit. She put relaxing music on, complimentary tea. It’s fantastic here!

Awesome salon! Discovered this place through groupon and came back for another cut with the same excellent service.
Had my hair cut by both Kyle and Tinique and they are both super attentive and listen to exactly what you want in a cut. They both understood my hair (very curly and usually unruly) and asked me at multiple points during the cut if it was how I wanted it.
The wash and condition were great and they were both super chatty and easy to talk to. Will defo make this my usual salon!

I had a great experience with this salon. The scheduling was not so great bc for some reason my appt was never actually scheduled so when I called the day before to confirm, they had no idea that I had an appt. Luckily, they got me in a bit later than my original appt time the next day.
I was originally scheduled with Tanique and mentioned to the receptionist that it was my wedding and I have thick, curly hair and wanted someone good. The next day, Tanique called me personally and graciously told me that Sterling would be a better fit and that she was a bit nervous doing my hair 2 weeks before my wedding. I was a bit taken aback but really appreciate her honesty.
I loved my hair! Sterling worked with me to give me a good color and it’s obvious that he is good at what he does. I loved his haircut too. My hair was shiny and beautiful walking out of there. My only gripe is that I wish my hair color was a little bit lighter but I think he was erring on the side of caution knowing my wedding was coming up.
I think they are within the price range of most salons in the area and have a really cute salon inside. It is much cuter inside than what it looks like outside. They have street parking and a small lot in the back for longer services. I think the street parking only allows you 1 – 2 hours.
Also, they serve you coffee or water but I didn’t get any cocktails like previous Unilocalers had mentioned – not sure if they don’t do that anymore? they did seem to have a very nice bar area that was not being utilized.

I hesitate to write this, because I don’t want you all to take my Junko away, but I don’t want to be greedy either. Sigh. Okay so Junko is the best hair stylist fairy ever in the history of them. There.
Further, I’ve been going to her for about 10 years and I won’t go anywhere else. Unless she’s in Japan, where she is now. Whyyyy Junko, whyyyyy? So, I’m going to search Unilocal for another stylist. Just until my Junko returns. Wish me luck.

Lipstick and Salon and Spa is one of the nicest hair/​spa salons I’ve ever been to!
They have a full bar and bar tender that’s serve’s coffee, tea, and alcoholic drinks! It’s very trendy and the staff is amazing! I highly recommend Jackie Velazquez as a hairstylist! She is absolutely amazing!
