Description

Specialties

Visit modern mixed-media artist Liz Huston in her natural habitat, the wondrous studio space she created which moonlights as a shoppe; stocked full of trinkets and treasures handmade by the artist, and featuring her surreal artwork.

When you visit, make a day of it, as her studio shoppe is part of The Spring Arts Collective, which is located on the mezzanine of the wonderful and popular downtown LA destination, The Last Bookstore.

History

Established in 2012.

Liz Huston has been a working photographer since 1996, photographing weddings, bands, portraits and photographic fine art. Her photography naturally progressed into the mixed media art she currently creates; a whimsical, yet subtly dark combination of the present and the past, created by skillful digital painting, digital compositing, and acrylic painting.

Continuing her success in the visual realms, Liz opened her own art gallery in 2012, dubbed «Liz Huston’s Studio Shoppe». The gallery is dedicated to exhibiting, promoting and selling her fantastical, surrealist mixed-media art and handmade gift items.

Meet the Business Owner

Liz H.

Business Owner

When my studio shoppe first opened, I slipped up in my welcoming some people in, and said, «Welcome to my heart!» I meant to say something else, but the implications of my initial statement were far more accurate.

When you step into my studio shoppe, you are indeed a welcome guest into the inner workings of my mind, hand and heart as an artist.

Each and every item in the studio shoppe was either made by my hands, or is part of my collection of inspiring specimens. For I am an artist whom surrounds herself with beauty and inspiration, even in the most unlikely of items.

Having a studio shoppe is a unique opportunity both for me as an artist, and you as a patron. You might catch me working on new pieces, fixing old frames, and we might just take the opportunity to pause for a delightful conversation with one another. I hope we do.
