I love Mrs Ruiz! She is so adorable and does a good job in hemming my jeans and fixing everything I bring to her from curtains to tablecloths… every alterations overall. I can never seem to find the perfect pair of jeans or pants because I am a shorty so this is my go to place when I buy new long pants/jeans. I’ve been using her services a few years now, and I love coming and find Mrs Ruiz here because she reminds me of my grandma and the conversations with her are always entertaining. When she is not available her husband and/or her granddaughter Milie do a good job too. They have everything they need to fix whatever you bring them to. Mr. And Mrs Ruiz speak mostly Spanish but they really understand you whay you want and also Milie has helped them with the translation. Their prices are going up with the years but it is still cheaper than other fancy places. She also sells some cute ornaments, decorations and even religious images.

Nope! She really messed up three of my dresses when I brought them in. Messed up one so bad I can’t wear it anymore. I wanted them made shorter and taken in at the bust and waist. All not to the sizes we marked them and doesn’t seem to know how to work around zippers. She also Surged all of my hems which is not what you’re supposed to do. Just don’t go here.

I’m not sure how this business became listed as closed… they are very much open. A few months back I took 4 very nice crewel curtain panels with an attached lining to them for shortening and to have a 5th split in half. They did an excellent(I mean perfect) job on both panels and linings and the price was fantastic($ 50). Today I stopped back in with two pairs of jeans to be hemmed, a skirt to be restitched at the waist and a top to have the underarm repaired. They were so cute and understood my wishes without having to go into much detail and told me I could pick my items up in three days. This place is great… especially if you have some time on your hands and rudimentary spanish under your belt.

All right I’ll be the first person to review M Ruiz, why not? When I want really basic, and I mean basic alterations done: Hems, patch a hole in my jeans, I go here. It’s so cheap you feel like you are ripping them off. They don’t speak a lick of English here so I have to do a lot of pointing and gesturing but in the end, I get a pair of jeans nicely patched for like 5 bucks. So theres that. Just don’t go here for anything too involved or your clothes will be destroyed.
