I’m searching where to find birthday cake with French quality, kinda hard to find in LA and I found this place, I ordered strawberry Napoleon cake for 20 people. So they made it special for me, taste very good and all my friends loved it. Since then. Every time I need to buy a cake (birthday, party, etc) I always order from this place. Beside Napoleon I love their Chocolate Raspberry mousse cake, eclairs and fruits tart.

What a perfect little jewel of a French Bistro in the middle of bustling LA. We had an excellent Escargot to start. I had a good cut of Fillet Mignon, it was just a slightly bit more done than I like, but this was my fault. Next time I will order it medium rare instead of medium. My partner had a good chicken dish with a delicious red Bordeaux which she liked. We got an amazing chocolate Mousse to go, rich and creamy. Would have given 5 stars, but restaurant was understaffed. Service was still good though.

This place is very close to my house so I’m sad to say it’s barely mediocre. The food is forgettable and the waitstaff seem miserable. Lot’s of better options in the neighborhood.

I absolutely love this place! Every year I look forward to the Christmas Log cake it’s incredible! Love both the coffee and the chocolate logs. Also love the pastries and the homemade pates! Great place for casual lunch or dinner.

Amazing taste! Prices are quiet higher than normally excepted, but you get what you pay for. Perfect for special occasions!

Wonderful staff, charming setting, short waiting times, exceptional food. I love their special caesar salad with a poached egg and bacon. They also make great lattes. I love it there!

Love these guys, always super nice and all around great service. Love the pastries and please do yourself a favor and try the cheeseburger on a croissant!

Cute and quaint place. love the vibe of this place and the area. we had the lobster ravioli. ah that sauce taste so.good.that we got our seafood pasta also with pink sauce. We had auteuil. chocolate mouse with raspberry sauce and mixed berry tart for desserts. will definitely be making frequent visits to this place

The eggs Benedict were amazing!!! It was cooked inside a brioche. It was one of my best eggs Benedict I ever had. Latte was perfect. Raspberry chocolate mousse was ok. Macaroons were ok. It’s worthy to go back for the Benedict. Nice atmosphere great service.

What a beautiful café tucked away in a residential area!
I was able to speak to the owner and she is a real delight, not only passionate about her food, but very charming as well as her space is somewher eyou can easlity have a relaxing breakfast or lunch with the girls or a casual date.
The desserts are gorgeous and look just as they do in France, so perfect and shiny!
I went with a chocolate croissant, priced fairly at $ 2.95 and it was tasty, but not the best, I would get something else next time.
Really love the vibe and selection here, can’t wait to be back to try more!

Would never have found this place had I not used Unilocal,even though it’s in my neighborhood. It’s such a cute space with tons of outdoors seating (and fans). We came on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. We made a reservation, but you probably don’t need to, though it was nice. They had a table with a reserved sign on it and a big candle lit for us in the middle of the table, which was conveniently placed in a spacious area in on the patio right under a fan, so we felt special.
There was only one waiter at first and as the patio started to fill up he was swamped. I felt bad for him, but towards the end another guy showed up thank God. Poor guy. He was definitely a good server and I feel bad for him because our friend was drunk and she had him running circles with her constant demands for rose wine and trying to speak French to him, when he was clearly Latin American.
The food was pretty good, our drunk friend has one of the quiches, I had the chicken with mushrooms pastry dish and my husband had the steak and fries, which each came with a salad. Make sure to also check out the French pastries inside and then order some. We split three different ones, I cannot remember the names, but one was something that translated to a million layers (roughly), one was a cheesecake like pastry with raspberries and the other one was chocolate and hazelnut. All were very good but make sure you go inside and look at the pastries because the one I chose on the menu was not the one I wanted once I got a good look at them inside.
All in all it’s such a cute place. I think the atmosphere made everything taste better. I would definitely come back one because it was close by and two because I think at night time it would be a great place to come for a romantic dinner.

The pastry here is acceptable. Some of them are too sweet. Sorry.
The atmosphere is really good though. If I have chance I’d love to dine in and try.

Maison Richard, formerly known as «Michel Richard Restaurant & Pastry Shop», first opened on Robertson Blvd 33 years ago. Relocation to Melrose and relaunch of Maison Richard took place during 2010.
I mainly came in to try their desserts for the simple reason that I have been French pastry obsessed since childhood — even attended Le Cordon Bleu for their Patisserie & Baking program 13 years ago, and with that training could vouch that the pastries here are wonderful. What better way to enjoy sweets in a gardenesque setting if you choose to dine street side with tables situated between shrubs or by their water fountain/​koi pond to the left of the entrance. Reminded of my time in France with actual European patrons dining beside us.
Attentive service, we didn’t have to bother once for coffee refills as they were on top of things. Tarts shells had the perfect fresh crunchy/​crumbly consistency.
Lemon Tart — made with Fresh Lemon Curd with Light Sweetened Meringue on top.
Berry Tart — topped with Seasonal Berries on an Almond Paste Frangipane filled crust.
Rum baba — sponge cake soaked in pineapple syrup topped with whipped cream gets doused with dark rum table side. Would recommend this if you’re a fan of the drink.
Will return for their escargot/​quiche and will continue to frequent them for afternoon sweet treats. :)

I came here for my cousin’s bday her friend recommended it to her. It was nice that you get to seat yourself and choose the perfect spot. We started out with the Rose, which was perfect not too sweet.
For appetizer, We had the plateaux de charcuterie the pates were the highlight of that plate, super yummy!!! Definitely ask for your bread to be toasted, it made a big difference.
For our main course we had an omelet payisiene, and their eggs Benedict with lox. I was really impressed with the eggs Benedict, the egg is inside a brioche rather than on top of a muffin and the hollandaise sauce in the side wow!!!
Our waiter was attentive and very nice, we were stuffed but I had to get some desserts to go (of course) and I am glad I did! The éclair, chocolate wafer something cake and the espresso cake were delicious and light and fluffy.
I would definitely come back again!

What a cute little French restaurant, and what a real pleasant surprise! I literally live 1 minute ½ walking distance from it. I am French, and I walked by a gazillion times without even thinking of giving it a try! Well, tonight, I gave it a try!
My soul mate Richard accompanied me, and I asked him to trust me in the choice of appetizers. We ordered six escargots, and le grand plateau de charcuterie to share. I loooooooove escargots, and I was curious to see if Richard would like them. I was wrong… he didn’t like them. he looooooooved them as much as I did! ;)
The variety of pâté was a hit as well.
For entries, I ordered a quiche Lorraine (a specialty from my native region), while my husband ordered the lobster ravioli. My quiche was good, but not as delicious as the ones my mom used to make when I was living in France. Richard’s lobster ravioli was simply OUTSTANDING!
A delicious glass of Pinot Noir accompanied this awesome meal. On our way out, our friendly waiter gave us a bag with two French pastries, and the owner, a very nice lady, walked us to the door while we chatted in French.
In short. an AMAZING EXPERIENCE, and a MAGICAL EVENING!

It was one of my bosses birthday we were called in to enjoy his birthday cake and I saw this cheesecake with raspberries on top and said ugh fine … (not a fan of cheesecake) so I took the hook and it was the best cheesecake I have ever had in my life!!! It was fresh it was soft and whipped it was a complete revelation! !!! You must try the cheesecake here its absolutely delicious decadent ect… I’ve passed by to get a slice and I also already ordered a cake size for 6 just because I need to have it in my fridge =)

I’ve been going here to years! This place is the best for their eggs benedict over smoked salmon and coffee eclairs. Whenever I am in the area that’s where I go to eat. They also have a great spacious patio.

Food was clean, good and portions sizable. I had eggs and french onion soup. Coffee was also good (major plus!). Service very polite and attentive.
Quiet and secluded but may be a bit snoozy and lacking in atmosphere for you razzmatazz hipster kiddos. Duck in if shopping on Melrose has worked your last nerve!

This is truly a hidden gem. We met the owner and she’s absolutely wonderful.
The setting and décor are very beautiful. I now know where to get fresh croissants! The price is just right and parking is easily found. I give it 5 stars, but similar to other ratings. service is not perfect. Our server lacked friendliness. Not once did he smile. But he wasn’t bad either. We will be returning again and again.

Coming here on a Saturday afternoon in Beverly Hills made me realize what a hidden gem it was. Honestly, the biggest difference that I saw between here and the Ivy was it’s exposure to Robertson.
It wasn’t busy when we arrived and my Mom’s friend had been coming here for years, familiar with the staff and menu. I ordered one of the daily specials, a prosciutto sandwich and $ 14 seemed high for a panini but oh well? They gave us warm bread when we sat down, also offering different types of iced tea and water. My sandwich was good, lots of prosciutto and delicious vegetables. It was filling and I’d have it again. Their menu had lots of interesting items on it, I would have tried one of the salads if this sandwich hadn’t been so enticing.
Our iced teas were always full and the service was kind. Driving by, many of the restaurants in BH that have more «celebrity» exposure had lines out the door while this place, very similar, was half empty.
