The best eggplant parmesan ever. I love the food, the service and the people. One of my family’s favorite places to eat. Yum!!!

Ordered the chicken parmy, it actually was one of the best ever. Light sauce, more tomato than seasonings etc… It’s arrived in 30 – 40 mins even though Grubhub says an hour. Desserts are great, even the fried calamari was great, how does that happen with take-out? Who knows, but I ate it. Remember to ask for any dipping sauce… Definitely a new favorite, great food for the price.

I really wanted to like this place but I was disappointed. Pasta portions are REALLY small, service is slow(took shortly over 30 minutes for my 1 dish) and they are over priced… I ordered the Bolognese sauce on angel hair pasta for $ 12 and it was utterly less than a cup and a half of food. The taste was good but I finished it in five bites. Glad I tried it but not coming back.

Good cheap food and friendly local ambience within walks for me. Loves it! Variety of liquor and italian bar food and TV for the games … It’s all that matters

The Owner reached out to me and apologized for the service I received on 10/24/2014. I appreciated that, and will give this place another go in the near future.

Work lunch group of 10 people for a birthday. The service was horribly slow. They did not get all the orders right. We waited forever for the drinks then waited for bread. We had to remind them about my calamari order and got a bar b q salad instead of our order of bar b q pizza. We reminded the waiter about the two birthday ladies BUT the bday dessert came so late one of the bday ladies had to leave to return to work. He said the bday dessert were comp but they put it on the bill. This is the last time we will come here. They have lost our business.

It appears express route may have been the way to go. I was with family trying to show them a good time and though there Are vast vegetarian options around me my family wanted something italian and after walking the streets so many time I recognized a Maria’s itAlian kitchen my valley friends should have recognized. They did so we went there for a pasta craving friend. It was beyond disappointing. First no four seaters in the bar. Then no one showed us to a table so we went on our own to the dinning room where, since it was happy hour we had to pay double for our beers. After ordering food and drink about forty five minutes drinks came followed by stale bread. And the bar was def no «poppin», service was slow. We ordered food and the marinara italian fries were really just normal French frites with ketchup and no cheese or anything italian about it. Then my friend pursues prosciutto which is boldly all over the menu and out and then non speciality menu orders marghetti pizza and gets back a Hawaiian. pizza Hawaiian to a table of kosher guests They offered is free Hawaiian but that would work they didn’t take off the pizza and didn’t give us the two on the house beers They promises. Oh well. I Won’t be going back beyond the fact there was some cool 80s music at the bar. Last time I take an out of towner.

Spaghetti kind of tasted like from a can, a bit on the tarte side. I would not order that again. The sausage on the spaghetti was cold. However, the Pomodoro with linguine did win my taste buds. I just wish their portions were bigger being that this is not a high end fine dining restaurant. When you think of Italian food such as pasta you think of an entrée the size of a regular plate and not on an appetizer plate size. Customer service was friendly.

Terrible service. Limited number of service staff, and the poor waitress took half an hour to get us drinks. It was only a party of ten. Food was extremely bland. There is no reason to order the Shrimp Maria, which is what I had. Appetizers were ok, and the tiramisu slice was huge. Still, the entire meal had no highlight.

I’m at the express side. Very casual quick spot for lunch or dinner. It’s got delicious hand rolled meatball sandwich. Super good skinny fries. Love their BBQ chicken pizza too.

They fuck up my order every time. That should be their motto. But really. I’ve ordered a few times in the past year. Their deliveries take at least one hour. Last time I ordered they said their delivery driver was sick. I said I’d come pick up and when I got there it turns out my order wasn’t complete because their fax machine ran out of paper. I had parked somewhere for free for 15 minutes and ended up waiting 20 min for my food. They comped me dessert which was like an $ 8 brownie. Meh. The last time they missed half my order because of the same reason. Get it together Maria!

Maria’s is a regular lunch spot for quite a few of the Accounting dept. in my office as well as the Marketing Coordinator and I in DTLA. We experience welcoming service, good food and comfortable surroundings. We can always relax through lunch with little noise to compete with conversations and find the food to be fresh and tasty. Although I usually get the same thing, I’ve tried a few of their dishes. I have enjoyed each one. The pastas are delicious and never drowned. The ravioli is especially delicious and packed with meat. The pasta primavera is healthy yet flavorful. I love their Parmesan Zucchini and get it every time. It’s fresh Italian food with healthy choices.

Ordered(for take out): 2 caesar salads, meatball appetizer, vegetarian pizza. The salad dressing had zero flavor. Meatballs were decent. Veggie pizza dough was hardly even done. The *free* garlic bread was fucking delicious.

Maria’s is proof that downtown is not a place to find quality dining. Had business lunch here this week and even with minimum expectation and the realization that is no little Italy, I still can’t find one positive thing to say about his place. The Risotto is utterly disgusting plate of diarrhea, and I don’t meant it figuratively, because that exactly what 2 of my parties came down with after eating it. Each dish was bland and tasteless as the previous one, of the 7 dishes we ordered, the only positive thing that came out of the entire party’s mouth was«well, at least the bread wasn’t stale.»

I used to come here once in a while for lunch but I’ve had to stop coming since the last two times I went, I ended up getting sick. Why did I go back after getting sick the first time, you ask? I thought I got sick off of something else. Or at least I was hoping that was it. I just thought it was a bad batch of pasta or something. The food is ok. The only good thing is that it’s walking distance from my job. Well, that’s a good thing for my co-workers, not so much for me.

Went here not by choice, remembering a disappointing experience at a Maria’s in the valley a long time ago. But my friend picked the place for lunch. Several items appealed to me but I liked my pasta dish, Shrimp Maria a lot. I got the smaller portion for $ 12 and it was a good size and actually tasted light because of the minimal lemon butter olive oil. The larger size is $ 17. The pasta tasted fresh and there was a good amount of shrimp. The bread with baked sprinkled cheese was good but salty. I liked that they gave us olive oil and balsamic vinegar instead of butter. The Italian fries(sprinkled with parmesan cheese) was a great deal for $ 3. Most of the prices are reasonable to a few dollars higher than you’d expect. Service was good and friendly. There are two t.v.s at the bar. I hear the happy hour is good here. I would come back because I hardly go out for Italian food, to try more of their grub.

Love the atmosphere. It was casual, great music, lively but not packed. Food: The lasagna was good, if you’re a meat eater you’ll enjoy it, it was just a bit much for me. The chicken parmigiana comes with a side of spaghetti and sauteed veggies, everything was great on that plate. Service was awesome, refilled my drink every 15 minutes. Not very pricy, two person dinner $ 40. $ 3 well beer, $ 4 house wine, $ 5 house cocktails 4pm-close good deal.

I really liked that the Happy Hour here consisted of $ 5 margaritas, martinis, and other well drinks. Now, I know you’re thinking«why would you order a margarita at an Italian place?» Well I don’t have an answer to that question but if you get the hankering, it’s $ 5. We created a sampler platter by ordering calamari, zucchini, and cheese sticks. Everything was pretty tasty, except for the calamari. I wasn’t that impressed and to be quite honest it tasted like deep fried seafood. I mean, I know that’s what it is but there was nothing exciting about it. Everything else was pretty good. There wasn’t anything exciting about this place. Kinda your typical downtown major metropolitan area Italian spot. The place those business professionals love but foodies avoid.

We love Maria’s and have been fans for around 3 years now. I can’t believe I haven’t written a review?!? After a long day or 2 of working in my own kitchen catering job, there’s nothing better than sitting at the the bar with my man and indulging in the scrumptious Veggie Lasagna, and a COLD beer! The lasagna is so good, it’s the only lasagna I eat. He always gets pizza and has tried the meatball sandwich. Usually lunch or early happy hour. We recently started getting delivery, it comes quick, hot and delicious! $ 7 delivery charge!!! But… The pizza really is the BEST, perfect thin crust with lots of good«char»! The salads are fresh and creative, I’m now a fan of smoked mozzarella thanks to the bbq chicken salad. The only thing is the soup, it’s usually just cabbage… minestrone usually has beans and pasta in it… the broth is good and it comes with great«bread»!! Sign up for their emails and get a birthday present! Thank you Maria’s, a true class act!

Have been a loyal customer since the week they first opened this location. And i have never had a problem dining in from the actual dining area to their express side, or even when ordering for pick up. They always get it right. Some of you may have had a experience that obviously has made you give less stars or you are not open to understanding that sometimes some establishments are busy and tend to forget certain things on your dining experience. I have tried their lunch, dinner & breakfast when they use to serve breakfast, and have tried many dishes from a simple potato salad to a whole dinner consisting of a appetizers, salad, soup, entrée, i have even tried their desserts. They have a more simple express menu that i think has the top dishes everyone will enjoy. And the bar section is always nice if you need that drink right after work or just want to catch a game. Never been disappointed. Does not mean that at times on take out the portion on the express bowl was less one day then the other, but it will happen anywhere. So go for it, take the walk, drive and check this place out for yourself, do not take what i say or anyone says on here as a guarantee what may or may not happen in your dining experience. Enjoy.
