I came here thinking I knew a thing or two about Spanish having studied it in high school and college and lived in Spain. First meeting Marcelo and I met, he gave me a test to see where I was. He showed me where I was weak, and then first reviewed those weaknesses. From there we went through different concepts and lessons (which were tailored to me personally) until I mastered them. I’ve been going here about 20 weeks, and I can not believe how much I’ve done. I’ve read 5 books in Spanish, read over 30 articles, transcribed over 10 conversations, and it keeps going. But even with all that, it is all about the results. I work in real estate and had to do a home inspection in a Spanish speaking house the other day. The owner only spoke Spanish. I found myself speaking fluently to the owner in Spanish and communicating it back in English to the home inspector and my clients. Needless to say, my clients were pretty impressed. Marcelo is the best Spanish teacher imaginable. He is creative, patient and thinks of engaging ways to make learning fun. When I first moved to LA, I knew I wanted to learn Spanish. I knew that I’d be more motivated to attend lessons if they were private and one-​on-​one. After my initial interview with Marcelo, I knew I’d found the best teacher for my needs. He designed a curriculum to fit my level and my schedule. Within a couple months, I was able to hold my own in conversational Spanish. He is very organized and professional but also makes learning a new language what it should be — FUN!
