MC Family Dental Office

Dr. Chang and his staff are amazing and… I can only give 3 stars because as a dental chicken, I feel they misrepresent themselves as people who can handle dental chickens.
If you are a normal person, definitely come here. You will be happy with your experience.
If you have nerves around sharp instruments in your mouth, be aware that Dr. Chang might break up with you like he did me. While I totally understand, what I didn’t like was him referring me to a «friend» in Pasadena who has HORRIBLE Unilocal reviews for his bad bedside manner and even Dr. Chang said they were in a fight so don’t drop his name.
Seriously, tho. If you don’t have panic issues in the chair, come here. The entire office is friendly, professional, and responsive.

I’ve been going to MC Family Dental since 2009 and I just think they are absolutely terrific!!!
I have recommended them to friends, and even my own hubby (who was also very impressed).
I have to say that Wendy and Jasmine are as sweet and knowledgeable as previously mentioned, and Dr Chang is kind, compassionate and a terrific doctor.
If you have a dental emergency, or are just dental-​nervous, I can’t think of better hands to be in than this office!

First off… I absolutely dread going to the dentist. I’m a big baby and cannot take pain. Second off, I don’t have insurance… but a trail of unfortunate events led me to MC Family Dental Office. I took a quick lunch break and was half paying attention to the eating process. I bit down on my food and heard a crack. I didn’t pull the metal fork out in time and chipped my front tooth. Thank God for all the amazing people and MC Fam Dental Office. They took my walk-​in visit and fixed my tooth back to normal. Dr. Chang was so gentle and caring. I am actually looking forward to go back for a cleaning… I couldn’t recommend them more and they are reasonable for people w/​o insurance A+++ on my book =)

I can’t stress enough on how amazing this place is! The staff are extremely nice. Like most people going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do, but I find that I’m in and out quickly and don’t have that dread. I would highly recommend this place!!!

Dr Chang is very thorough, kind, caring, and a great dentist! I’m so glad I found him. He even does charity work!
The dental hygienists are very nice and helpful! I’ve really enjoyed my appointments here. :)

Dr. Chang of MC Family Dental is honest & skillful. — Virtually painless injections! My mother-​in-​law almost had a bunch of work done at a new dental office, and I was worried they may be trying to sell her on some unnecessary treatments. Also, the dentists at the new clinic were not as experienced as Dr. Chang. I sent her to Dr. Chang for a second opinion. Sure enough, he recommended what he felt was truly needed and saved her a bundle. As for me, he’s done a crown and some fillings and always gives me tips on dental care, which I appreciate hearing from an expert. The staff is super nice, and the magazine selection is awesome. I know that’s trivial, but I like the way the magazines are spread out on a wall mount, so you can see the entire selection, like at a Barnes & Noble Bookstore. I also happen to know that Dr. Chang graduated from a top-​rated dental school. – UCLA. Honest, fair, smart, experienced, skillful. – You could ask for nothing more in a dentist.

Once again, Dr. Chang has reminded me how lucky I am to be one of his patients. Being in healthcare myself, I can honestly say that his patients are tremendously lucky to have such a skilled dentist. BTW– I have referred many patients and my own mother to him.

Had my last wisdom tooth pulled today by Dr. Chang. I’ve been in pain for about three months and have known I needed to get it removed. I have always HATED going to the Dentist as a kid.
The staff was really nice and friendly which helped the experience of seeing the dentist
I was early so I sat down expecting to wait for my appointment time. I must have sat for a minute and they were ready to see me. Too fast, I wasn’t mentally ready but went in.
Dr Chang took a xray and told me what I knew already. I told him to do it and within 10 to 20 min I was done!!! I did even know he had pulled it out, NO PAIN!!! NO PAIN AT ALL!!!
I was totally surprised when he showed me my tooth. I had to ask if he was done and that was my tooth.
What a great job and a great experience!!! Thank you Dr. Chang and Staff.

Just went in for a full cleaning today (scaling & fluoride treatment). Wendy & Jasmine are the sweetest ladies there. Met Wendy’s new baby girl & her hubby — both kept me company as I awaited my turn in the chair. Congrats Wendy!
Verdict: NO CAVITIES! WOOT WOOT! Thanks Dr. Chang! I haven’t had a cavity in over 5 years now thanks to ya’ll making sure I come back every 6 months for my regular check-​up/​cleaning appointments.
I love this dental office! Good service each & every time. No hassle. They are tri-​lingual here (English, Spanish & Korean). Clean & neat. Parking isn’t too bad either ‘cos there’s a lot in the front.
I’ll be coming back in a couple of weeks. Nooooo, I don’t have a cavity! My boy toy just got his Delta Dental insurance so I’m going to bring him to someone I trust with my pearly whites.

This place was the default dental office provided by my Blue Cross Insurance. I was a bit skeptical that it was next to a Mexican dollar store, and as it turned out i was right to be so, but not smart enough to heed said omen.
They will always suggest performing the highest priced option, without even acknowledging it could be done for less money. The work, when all is said and done, is decent. I went into the office 4 times for a crown that should have only taken two trips. The dentist did not grind my tooth down properly so when the new crown was applied it cracked. This happened twice before a proper solution was devised. I wasn’t charged for the extra trips, but this isn’t much of a consolation.
Their front desk staff is friendly and very helpful, but the oral hygienist is not very skilled. It is definitely the most lackluster ‘cleaning’ I’ve ever experienced. I do a better job with my tooth brush.
The experience wasn’t horrible, and may be fine depending on your standards but I would not go back and therefore can not recommend it.

Ok I must admit it sounds like I’m trying to put this place out of business but I just became even more dissatisfied with them, yes despite not having been here for years. Let me explain.
While I was still going to MC Family Dental they performed a ‘tooth scaling.’ Well this process took all of 3 – 5 minutes and I was left a bit confused as to why it was even necessary as it didn’t seem to do anything. Just recently I went to my new dentist who gave me a ‘real’ tooth scaling. What I mean by this is it took nearly an hour and was actually quite painful, but upon doing some research that’s exactly what it is supposed to be, not a 3 – 5 minute dabbing that I got here!
The more time that goes by, and the more correct treatment I receive elsewhere the more I realize how sub-​par this establishment is. I really hope for the patients that he has improved immensely since I last went here!
