This was our spot in the mid to late 90’s, whenever we would be in town, working at the convention center. Had many great seafood dinners there. Cool location too.

For such a classy looking place with views of downtown, I really was expecting and hoping for a great meal. But alas, I was pretty disappointed. Service was great but then it was not busy at all. We were the only customers there so they better have been attentive. The food on the other hand was pretty sad. For all of the amazing toppings and items stuffed into the burger, it was bland and cold. Not something I’d want my burger to be. Such a waste. Price: $ 15+ per person Wait: 10 mins after ordering

Food was okay. Service was slow. We had to ask someone other than our absentee waiter to refill our waters the only two time they were refilled. Half an hour in we had to wave down the waiter and ask for the complimentary bread. Food was slow to come out. We waited a long time for our check. From the time we were seated until we left was 1hour 45minutes. Our waiter was not personable or friendly at all. Just overall bad service. We won’t be returning.

Always a fan of McCormick & Schmick’s happy hour. I always order the cheeseburger with fries. Brought a couple friends here before the Laker game. It was their first time and they thought it was fauncy. I think not! I find this bar area to be totally casual & an exceptional bargain. I couldn’t even finish my cheeseburger this time! The majority of the table ordered the cheeseburger, while one person ordered chicken sliders and we all shared the calamari. The food is alright, but nothing beats the price!

We arrived a party of six on a Wednesday near the lunch hour to celebrate co-workers birthday. I pass by McCormicks at least on a weekly basis and have always wanted to try their food as I am a seafood buff. I was super excited to hear the team had pick this spot as our celebration location. The décor is lovely, dark cherry wood bar with a 1920’s vibe, private seated booths, and stained glass windows. The server was excellent upon arrival and gave us recommendations for the lunch section. The lunch special menu was roughly $ 12.00 a plate which is pretty good for a place of this standard on Bunker Hill. Most of my colleagues ordered the Fish and Chips all around. We did order the Tilapia with Black Beans and I had the Cesar Salad with seafood. Each item on the lunch special comes with a choice of either soup or salad. The sourdough bread came out first and was the best part of the meal or we were just all very hungry. The salads and soups came out first and were in a vinaigrette type dressing that what my co-worker described as minimal and bland. This unfortunately, was the tone of the lunch hour. My Cesar salad was typical, no special spices, just seemed like Cesar dressing on top of lettuce. Maybe I expected too much. I was not thrilled that the seafood was deep fried when I received it in my salad. I took most of it home as a left over. The Fish and Chips, were well, just that, and nothing special. My co-worker noted that the batter lacked flavor. Plates were left half eaten and I think I was the only one who took the rest home. My boss stated the Talipia was just ok. I really, really wanted to like this place but based on my experiences and the comments from the party about the food we will most likely not return for lunch. Food was sadly bland, flavorless, and lacked the gusto that a formal lunch spot on Bunker Hill should have. I would like to try their Happy Hour, just to give this place a second chance.

Went here for a holiday business lunch, we got a small side room(partially private) and was pleased for the dining menus that they had available that we had preselected. I do realize the area we were seated in were made for intimate groups(maybe small tables of 2 – 4) but the area ended up having VERY dark corners – and with a long table the light is insufficient for the people sitting at the ends. We also had little tabletop candle containers that were never lit(and were empty) – why bother putting them on the table? Food wise, everyone left stuffed and satisfied – the food was great! The service was good too, our drinks were full and the courses came as expected. The area we were in was a little cramp, so sometimes we would have to pass plates/trays to the servers as they couldn’t get to the center half of the long table very easily. There was a small overcharge on the bill($ 5 per person) and it took a very long time to correct, to the point that we got overcharged at the valet for the extra hour as it took 15 – 20 min longer to get the bill corrected. It was the holidays, and they get busy, I understand. We had booked later than anticipated and was glad they were able to accommodate us despite the small problems with the room. I’m definitely a fan of their food(did I mention their delicious filet mignons, and crab stuffed shrimp?) and will be back. Maybe next year, I will place the reservation sooner and get a bigger room!

This place is pretty awful. The waitresses and low level staff are completely acceptable, and are merely doing their job at a s****y establishment. I have no beef with them. But the overall experience and atmosphere is borderline unforgivable. For a place that calls itself a seafood restaurant, their ability to cook seafood is appalling. All of the seafood we had was pretty bad/average, but the calamari was genuinely awful. I feel sick to my stomach after eating ¼ of a plate. Also, 90% of the patrons are 50 – 60 year old men trying to hook up with their 30 year old female coworkers. If you are a decent human being… Don’t come here.

I’m embarrassed by the number of times I have been here despite the depressing food, drink, service and ambiance. Close to work and easy parking outside. Patio outside is also nice. But even happy hour is sad! How is that possible? The food is bordering on inedible. I recently had a chicken salad and could not eat most of the chicken because it was so tough. Chicken breast! Dinner is probably the best bet with a fish or steak entrée. But it is honestly not worth the money.

How did I end up here for business meeting? My fault. The side dishes are shockingly expensive and food arrived barely warm. The waiters are fantastic but just like the one in Pasadena the kitchen let’s them down. I could have eaten at Drago or Chaya for nearly the same around 75 bucks for lunch for two. Only barely half full at lunch time days it all. Don’t go here.

Came to this location for the first time a few weeks ago, wasn’t overwhelmed but I still enjoyed my time. I went for a lunch meet-up with some old friends and we were pretty annoyed that the restaurant managers allowed a random company party to be hosted smack dab in the middle of the restaurant, that was just stupid. We(and every other table around) couldn’t even talk to our friends at the same table because this party had a full sound system set up to announce the«winners of the raffle!» That’s just poor planning there, management, I mean come on. Regardless, I’d still give it another shot during lunch because the food and service was fine. Moving on to the food, it never disappoints, so that part was fine. I used to frequent the McCormicks on Rodeo Dr. before it strangely shut down. Make sure to check out their happy hour and go for the oysters! The oysters are ridiculously good and will not disappoint.

We only ended up at McCormick & Schmick’s because Green Hut now closes on the weekends. We wanted oysters and Unilocal brought us here. It was difficult for us to find, because this restaurant is tucked away at a corner surrounded by tall buildings in the heart of Los Angeles. We were quickly seated without reservations on a Saturday night. Our waiter was excellent! I think his name was Antonio? I gave him 20% tip because he was quick, considerate, and courteous. My BF and I shared everything and he brought us extra plates, bowls, utensils, etc. Comlimentary bread and butter was served. –Oysters: we had the Canadian Malpeque; it was plump but a little salty. –Mussels: I loved the white wine broth with tomatoes and garlic. The mussels were on the small side but the broth was amazing! –Clam Chowder: delicious and creamy, full of potatoes and clams. –Scallops and Mushroom Risotto: the scallops were cooked just perfectly. The risotto wasn’t thick enough, more on the watery side. Overall it was a good dinner. I would come back.

I was here for a business meeting so I did not experience the regular menu. A buffet style dinner was served consisting of salad, broccoli and carrots, chicken marsala, beef, and a variety of bite sized petit fours and crème brûlée. Other than the veggie dish, the rest of the meal left a lot to be desired. The food was passable but not memorable in any way and very average. I know it was buffet style, but for a restaurant, I would have expected more. I would not bother to come back for dinner.

Great happy hour! Super cheap and awesome menu of food for only a few dollars. It does get packed so get in there early. Parking is a little difficult so I always valet. Drinks are good. Fun to sit at the bar. Perfect for big groups if you get there early enough. Great crowd, lot of good looking business men in there.

*** Happy Hour Review *** If anything, take this from the review: Great sourdough. Came here months back for Happy Hour. I’ll break it down real quick, as the food was almost as bad as the company I dined with… — The calamari was among the worst I’ve ever had. It was completely unseasoned, poorly fried(i.e. they went into oil that was NOT hot enough), and the sauce it was served with was also bland and watery. — The mussels were actually fantastic, which made me wonder why the calamari failed the hit the mark. The mussels were perfectly cooked and über tender. The only problem was that the dish was not served with toast or bread or anything… Enter our waitress. Bouaphanh… Server of Bread… Provider of nourishment… And just an absolute joy to be around. Her service was the only saving grace of this experience and she was SO good that I decided to round up to three stars. Now, THAT’S good service. A great smile, friendly but not intrusive, and a truly perfect server. I hope she’s still there… She’s a freaking rockstar. — The Sourdough bread was absolutely fantastic. It was groin-grabbingly transcendent. Crusty… Ethereal… And a perfect accompaniment to the mussels, even if I did have to request it, specifically. — The drinks were epically weak. I thought about approaching the bar tender(whose name I WISH I had gotten to name-drop for you, here) and telling him that his drink were weaker than a limbless, cancer-ridden, first-year girl scout. I decided against it. If you go there… I dunno. Don’t expect much. Maybe order some sourdough and mussels. M&S just failed to impress, and with such a well-known name, I guess I just expected too much. I don’t even know what to say. I haven’t been back, and I don’t have any plans to return.

This review is for their Happy Hour. I’ve tried their food from the regular menu a loooong time ago, but I don’t remember the details so I won’t be reviewing that. Happt Hour is from 3−10pm. Cool! I was surprised how cheap and super tasty their HH menu is. And you know me, I love cheap grub! $ 3.99 burgers with fries, $ 4.99 calamari and $ 4.99 chicken sliders were a tasty bite ! My friends had Mojitos $ 6.00 for a tall glass. They said at first they couldn’t taste the alcohol, but after 4– 5 sips they felt buzzed lol. Will definitely come here again! There’s 2 Parking structures on HOPE and 5th Street. Don’t forget to validate your ticket.

Happy Hour within 4 blocks away from where I live and from 3−10PM? Shoots, I’m down. Two girlfriends and I came in last night for a round of drinks and small bites. We were allowed to choose any table we’d like so we sat in one of the large round tables facing the TV screen, and asked if we could switch the channel to the SC football game. The staff happily obliged so YAYFORCUSTOMERSERVICE(We ended up beating Oregon State 31 to 14 and every time SC scored, the staff would ring the bell by the bar which was so legit. Trojan Pride for the win!) I feel like the drinks and food items were pretty fairly priced. I opted for a glass of red and my friends ordered a cranberry vodka and a lemon drop. In terms of food, we had the tomato bruschetta, chicken sliders and the spicy buffalo wings. All in all, I think they enjoyed the food(I didn’t eat because I was full) so point for McCormick’s. Will I be inclined to come in just for the HH specials? Eh… not really since Public School is right around the corner, but it’s nice to have McCormick’s as an alternative option. Thank you for the experience though! :)

I’ve been to this location of McCormick & Schmick’s a few times for happy hour. This location is tucked in located on the back side of the US Bank Tower and Citibank building. It’s a bit hard to find unless you know the area fairly well. The great thing about this restaurant chain is that it’s very consistent. Interiors is full of wood grains and has some private areas. Views looking south of DTLA are abundant. The food is consistent and service is always great! This is a chill place to grab a drink and watch a game after work or a nice dinner. Not a bad place to take your client to either. Drinks are reasonable especially well drinks. I’d rather grab a drink here than Bottega Louie where you’ll pay $ 15 for Black Label. Here you’ll pay market value for a drink.

McCormick & Schmick’s is one of the best place to go for Happy Hour. Prices are very reasonable and selections are outstanding. I stopped here on a Friday night. HH is from 3 to 10, unlike most restaurants with a very narrow time period. We had Buffy as our server. She was fabulous. I would visit this place again.

This review is based off of HH only. I went on a Friday evening. They still had HH so we decided to try it out. Personally I like Fleming’s HH much more, but that’s just my opinion. Service: The service was excellent. Friendly and attentive. Food: Buffalo wings: The wings weren’t amazing, but for the price it was decent. Served with blue ranch, carrots and celery. Baja fish tacos: Nicely cooked fish with some type of coleslaw salad on top and an aioli dressing. I wasn’t too impressed with the flavors, but my gf loved this dish. Fried calamari: Definitely not the best and typical calamari. This calamari also had fried artichokes in it which was a complete surprise. I wasn’t too fond of the sour flavor in my calamari. It was server with marinara sauce which was kind of bland.
