I really love the donuts here; they’re delicious and exactly what you’d hope for– classic donuts like glazed, chocolate with sprinkles, jelly, etc. Fancy donuts are fine but I like to keep things basic when it comes to donuts. I don’t need fruit loops or cronuts or anything fancy; just give me something that is delicious with my coffee or tea the next morning. Love that the sign feels like a knock off Winchell’s with the W turned upside down. We think Michelle’s is better though… So happy they were open until 10 pm on a Saturday night. We got to see the sweet guy who works there getting everything baked for the next day. Leaving with half a dozen donuts made our Sunday morning very pleasant and sugary. Easy to park in their lot and good, friendly service.

I walk by this place all the time and stop in for donuts on occasion. They’re all ways good. I love the apple fritters and the maple bars. The pricing is great too. And the sweet woman helping me is always so warm and welcoming. And once, a bee got in and I’m deathly allergic so I ran away but she grabbed a towel and got it like it was nothing. My hero!

This is a great donut shop. Seriously. It doesn’t look like much because it is in a rundown strip mall, but the donuts here are great and the people working here are super nice. Some of the best donuts I have ever had and I have had many.

$ 8 for an assorted dozen… includes jelly, twists, bars, old-fashioned, cake donuts .Not a bad deal. You get a stack of napkins included with the dozen ordered too. Place is clean enough, no flies or gnats trapped in the display of donuts. Although, I love an old-fashioned with maple –they didn’t have them this past Saturday –Womp womp. Service is good, can’t mess up serving up a dozen(or I haven’t been to a place that has). OH, don’t be intimidated by the crowd(s) that congregates near the shop. They just know where all the good donuts are at in this vicinity.

Not a reliable business. Wasted my time walking there the other night only to be ignored and then shooed by the person inside making doughnuts. Guess they close Sunday night? Not sure what the deal was, just know I’m never taking my time to go here again. Nothing like looking at fresh doughnuts that are not for sale! Anyway, I recommend going someplace else in the neighborhood.

This seems like a really decent donut shop. I stopped by one weekend to grab a donut and coffee and saw that they had a bread pudding muffin! Of course, being that I really like bread pudding, I just had to have this. The muffin was good. Although it looked a tad over baked by color, the inside was quite pleasant, moist and buttery. It came out warmed and I am concerned that she nuked it before giving it to me without me realizing. I have stopped using a microwave for a few years now due to it killing and rendering completely nutrition less anything it heats up. I mean, you might as well just eat a cardboard box if you’re going to nuke something because you’d get the same nutrition value. If I come back and get this again, I’ll have to remember to tell the kind owner lady not to heat it up for me. Although, warmed bread pudding is best, hopefully they have an oven or something. I’ll have to find out. Prices here are really decent. I had the muffin and a coffee for $ 3.00. They have a good selection of other traditional donuts so I wouldn’t mind coming back to try something else.

With a nickname like donuts, I truly hate my friend, for introducing me to this place, and especially living close now… Soooo good.

Went in for donuts, arguably late. Donuts were stale and hard. Won’t be back.

Two years ago, my boyfriend introduced to me to Michelle’s. Ever since then, this has been a regular quick breakfast spot for us. Try the bagel sandwich/breakfast sandwich! It’s so simple but really taste comforting and delicious. Not to mention, all the ladies that run the place are super friendly and happy every single time I’ve been! Truly a great way to start your day :). You’ll be hooked one Michelle’s in no time, try it! Either the sandwiches or the genuinely happy atmosphere will keep you coming back. **Note: Cash only/small parking lot**

Went here after seeing all of the reviews. Got a dozen of donuts; glazed, cinnamon, chocolate covered, coconut, and sugary. Everyone in the office loved them, including me. Great size donuts and great price. Dozen for $ 8. The only knock is that this place is cash only but a lot of donut shops are so have cash in hand. I will definitely go back.

Everything I hoped for in an old school donut joint. Their old fashioned style donuts are the best I’ve had in the area. Will definitely be back :)

If we could, we would give Michelle’s a 4.55 out of 5 stars. We sampled the raised glazed and the chocolate twist. The raised glazed was super fresh, light, with a slight density that we love about a good donut and dripping with sweet vanilla glaze. A definite sugar bomb in the mouth, but it melted oh so sweetly in our mouths. As for the chocolate twist the dough had the same consistency of the raised glazed, light, fresh, and fluffy with a tinge of denseness that makes a donut oh so good BUT the chocolate frosting left a little to be desired. It was the generic chocolate frosting that most donuts have that was dried and cracked. I was hoping for something a little creamier. These were the two donuts the women behind the counter recommended. She was super friendly and we appreciated her recommendations. Thank-you Michelle’s.

strictly speaking, if i eat a doughnut, i end up paying for the rest of the day with nausea & generally feeling grey. as it happens, i have just discovered that a light touch in the kitchen can produce doughnuts that are airy & delicious, w/o being sick-making. a friend had ranted over several years about this particular place, ex-winchell’s, but i never believed him fully about the fare until i visited it for the first time a few months ago. whoa! fall is a great time for doughnut jonesing, what with the change in weather [well, we hope an eventual change in weather]. i find myself considering whether it is worth it to go the 2.8 miles during rush hour to procure ambrosia… the cake donut, no glaze, is my grail. i highly recommend it. this place is almost a five-star, save for the wee parking lot & occasional nut hutch customer. being next to a bus stop, this is almost unavoidable. interesting sidebar: i reheated one such doughnut last week, only to be rocketed, proust-like, back to san francisco, late 1970s, & a japanese restaurant called ‘ichigo’, which offered fried ice cream. the doughnut, rewarmed, tasted ex-actly like the fried on that ice cream. incidentally, those who might know where you can get fried ice cream in los angeles, do tell! [i just found out from the cambodian daughter at michelle’s that it is referred to as ‘tempura ice cream’, which strikes me as logical.]

I read a couple of the reviews since I was craving for a blueberry donut and S & K ran out the night before. Since I was doing errands around Santa Monica blvd area. I decided to stop by on a freakin HOT day to pick up some blueberry donuts. The place is alright. Inexpensive donuts and she also gave me a good deal. The only part that sucks is that if you want a regular blueberry donut you have to come in the a.m. They ran out of the blueberry donuts but still had the buttermilk blueberry one. One left and oh hell yeah I for sure grabbed it. And of course a few more for the hubby and daughter. They also had a strawberry it was OK not that WOW cause it was to soft and a little on the heavy side. Worker was cool and was patient with me to. I will be coming back for that buttermilk blueberry and if there is regular blueberry.

«Donuts are donuts,» you might say, and to that, I respond that you probably don’t face the same threat of type-2 diabetes that I do. As a purveyor of fried dough and sugar – and as current Foursquare«mayor» of this fine establishment – I can vouch for the superiority of Michelle’s donuts. I know every donut shop in the area, and none bring the awesomeness that Michelle’s does. Prices are ridiculous to discuss, because, come on, it’s donuts. They cost whatever donuts costs – the bigger ones and the ones with stuff in ‘em cost a little more, and that still doesn’t mean much. What sets Michelle’s apart is their freshness. Everything they sell always tastes new, fresh, clean… good. Same for their coffee. The service is always very friendly, too.
