Love Mike and Maya’s Pet care! Maya comes to walk our dog Sonny a carolina/​german shepherd mix and he always has the time of his life going on hikes and walks! He has so much energy, but still he gets tired out after his visits with Maya. So great that she sends photos, love to see the fun they are having! Maya is really great with scheduling and keeping us updated with dates and billing. Maya really cares for Sonny and it shows, she is so sweet and so cool! We are fortunate to have Mike and Maya’s pet care!

I can’t say enough about Mike and Maya!
I recently left LA and I have to say that me, my boyfriend, and our cats are devastated to have lost them. They are incredible cat and dog sitters. I find that finding a good cat sitter is hard, especially to find one that plays with the cats and spends time with them. Mike and Maya not only spent time with our babies, but they would send us photos and our cats were always in a good mood when we got home. It was clear they had not been ‘abandoned’ during our 2 week holidays abroad or our various shorter trips.
Further, our cats are rather high maintenance, eat only wet food, and need 2 visits daily. Through the photo and text updates I always felt secure that the boys were very well cared for. Mike and Maya, we miss you already!

I feel so fortunate to have met Mike & Maya over a year ago! They take care of my pups like they were their own — and I feel 100% confident when I leave them in their care. They take my older pup on group hikes and then both my pups on walks just the two, because my younger pup has some dog reactivity issues.
My pups are… «special». But Mike & Maya understand their needs and really cater to what will make them healthy, happy dogs. I really appreciate the care and consideration they give — without judgment — and work with me to provide the best environment for my dogs to set them up for success. My oldest suffered from such horrible separation anxiety after we moved here from out of state, and working with Maya who took them on walks so I could leave the house really helped him get over it!
I couldn’t recommend them enough — in fact, I tell all my friends who live in the area to use Mike & Maya!
They love their time with Maya when I travel and I get pictures and text updates so I see what fun they are having. I travel for up to a week at a time, and my apartment is so well taken care of when she’s staying. They love Maya so much that they know her name and wag their tails and cock their heads when I tell them she is coming by. Her name is on par with «dish», «treat» and «toy». That’s high praise indeed!

Maya just watched our unreasonable number of cats (5) for several days and she was a total pro. She sent photo updates, gave them meds, kept the place tidy, and showed genuine affection for the whole unruly brood. I highly recommend her if you are going out of town and want to know your pets are being cared for by a responsible animal lover. Five stars!

I cannot say enough good things about Mike and Maya’s Pet Care. I love them soooo much.
I’ve used them for daily walks as well as hikes and overnights. I actually plan vacations based on their availability.
Maya is the best. The best. For real. She cares for my fur-​kids better than I do. She’s amazing to both my cat and dog. She loves them. Literally loves them. She takes my hyper Aussie on hikes and wears her out (not an easy feat). She sends pix of your pup and updates while you’re gone. She anticipates the animals’ needs and goes above and beyond.
Maya worked at Urban Pet and knows her shit. Very knowledgable about animals.
Also, administratively, she is so good at communicating. Emails/​calls/​texts — about your pet and also about the business (ie availability, rate changes, etc).
Just the best. For real.

If you are the kind of person who views your pet (s) as part of your family, your child (ren), your best friend (s), then Mike and Maya’s is for you-​because not only do they ‘get’ it, it’s so obvious Maya loves her job, cherishes being able to spend her days with animals, and develops bonds with the animals she cares for. It’s a pleasure to have someone like that available.
When I go away on vacation, Maya takes better care for my kitties than my own boyfriend/​my kitties’ dad did (love not coming home to find an obese cat!) and has made leaving them behind a stressless experience for the past 3 years. You get Instagram/​Facebook photos of your pet to let you know they are being cared for, emails with updates, and the kind of detailed attention that makes it very clear everything is under control. Maya grabs your mail, not only cleans the litter boxes but will change the actual litter if needed, buys extra food when-​oops-​your supply runs out, cuddles with the animals that want to go that route and plays with the ones who need to get crazy and burn some energy, and just generally understands how to meet various needs (human, feline, and canine). Everything is mellow because Mike and Maya are professionals who know what they are doing (and when you are dealing with the stress of planning a trip or an emergency or whatever else, it’s great to have someone who isn’t panicking about your cat’s hairball).
I also love that Maya doesn’t simply take dogs around the block to pee-​she takes them on hikes up to Runyon Canyon or Griffith Park. They are getting both their emotional and physical needs met. If you follow their social media pages it’s impossible to ignore the bond that Maya develops with her «clients» and I know this about her as a person as well. I am so lucky to never have to worry about my pets when I am away and would never hesitate to recommend Mike and Maya to any other pet owner out there.

My number one consideration when choosing a pet sitter is trust. I have two healthy cats that are easy to care for and yet have had horrible experiences with other cat sitters in LA. Maya is AWESOME! She’s available, timely in communications, dependable and goes the extra mile not only for the felines but also to make sure that I come home to a tidy house that doesn’t smell of cat. Her rates are reasonable and is a pleasant person who’s super easy to deal with. I can leave town and feel confident that my monsters will be well cared for. That’s trust.

Mike & Maya are the best! They have been caring for our 10 yr old Labrador, Lilly, since May 2012 (hard to believe we’re coming up on a year).
Lilly is our «doghter» and it is very important that she be in good, kind, caring, hands — and that is Mike & Maya! Twice a week Maya comes to walk Lilly and give her dinner. Sometimes it’s more often, depending on our busy work schedules — they are always accommodating and flexible. We’ve also had them stay overnight with Lilly when we traveled out of town. It is such a relief to know our Lilly is well cared for. We trust them completely, to be in our home.
These guys go above and beyond. Once, my partner managed to get locked out (I don’t even remember the story behind that), and Maya made a special trip to bring keys over. Another time, we ran out of dog food, and Maya stopped on her way and bought Lilly her favorite brand. They have even done a few last-​minute requests to assist us when something unexpected comes along and impacts our schedules.
I’ve lived in different locations and used different pet sitters over the past 10 years for Lilly. Honestly, there is something very special about Mike & Maya. They are like animal whisperers, and have come to feel like part of our family. You don’t find service like this very often.

Maya & Mike watched my cats over the holidays and were WONDERFUL! Maya is so sweet and the services were very affordable. She emailed me pics over the week I was away so I could see my babies were doing well! They were so cuddly with Maya & Mike and they got so much attention, my only worry was that they wouldn’t be excited to see me when I got home because they liked Maya so much. :) But, when I got home, everything was clean and my cats were mellow and clearly well-​cared for. It is such a relief to be able to go out of town and know my cats are in good hands! Maya is THE BEST!
