Through my years of experience writing, performing and teaching music I have gained a high level of personal musicianship as well as the ability to motivate and inspire learners. I’ve always been passionate about music. My ultimate goal as a teacher is to enable students to deepen their connection with music in pursuit of their own musical goals. I tailor a student’s private curriculum to their abilities, needs and interests, while also implementing tried-​and-​true methods of piano pedagogy. Teaching and learning music is an enormous gift and I believe that the exploration and study of music should be fun!

Business Owner

Mike Sempert is a songwriter, composer, producer and lead singer of Birds & Batteries. Sempert was born in 1981 in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated from Brookline High School in 1999. In 2004 he completed a double-​degree program from Tufts University and New England Conservatory of Music where he majored in jazz composition. He lives in Oakland, CA and continues to perform with Birds & Batteries and teach piano.
