Always walk by this place and see tons of people eating here, but never quite tried it myself until today. Started off with Chilled Prawns, which they forgot to qualify on their menu as «giant.» Four chilled prawns served on a bed of ice with slightly spicy cocktail sauce in the middle. Second course was the French Onion Soup which for me was the star of the evening, delicious melted cheese with hearty helping of onion soup that had great body and aroma without being salty! Delicious, would come back here for this onion soup again. For entrée, we ordered the 8oz Filet Mignon served with roasted cherry tomatoes, with a pad of parsley butter on top and a side of sweet au jus. We also paired that with a side of Brussels sprouts which had some bacon on top. Steak was done medium rare, but the texture of the meat was a bit stringy and a bit on the chewy side. The Brussels had a mild flavor but overall could have been roasted better. Service was very prompt and attentive while we sat outside on the patio under the heat lamps. Ambience was great with the fountains in the background. Great for people watching of course! Wouldn’t come back here for dinner necessarily but possibly for that very well done French Onion Soup.

This has to be the best experience ive had in dining in awhile. We were seated right away! And we were greeted by our server Avery! Such a great guy! Recommend the seafood fettuccine! And i have to admit it was out of this world! My bf had the filet mignon … Cooked to perfection… I have to say tho it was a bit pricey for the stake. But overall great experience!

I must admit this place is a sleeper. The bar area is spacious and the happy hour menu is cool!!! Great place for a group to take over…

Many times I passed by this restaurant and it always seemed full with people. Decided to stop in for lunch in between shopping. I’m usually the type that will just grab a coffee and snack but with such a gorgeous day outside, decided to have a meal and enjoy it on their outside patio. Had their steak with mash potatoes and my friend had their fish and chips. We both shared ours and found the steak and mach potatoes was our fave of the two. Meat was tasty and the presentation on top the potatoes was great. Got some mash potatoes with each bite. For our drinks I had a maguerita and my friend opted for a sangria. Hit the spot and was very refreshing. Nice view of the fountain and people walking by. Only thing was service is quite slow here due to he crowd.

Came here for dinner the other day. The grove was packed but this place wasn’t really busy. Our service was alright. The server was attentive and not overbearing. I think it was over priced for what you get. I ordered a French dip and my husband the fish and chips with 2 cokes. I think we spent upwards of $ 50. They were both very common dishes but nothing really stood out particularly, but they tasted good. We probably won’t return to eat. It was more just to try it out.

The 3 stars is mostly for the service. We were waiting for an hour and ½ for our food. Pool that came after us got their food and even desert. Besides that I had short ribs. Fantastic! My friend half the rotisserie chicken and love it. We also had the French fries with the fondue cheese. Wow

I probably expected too much from this place. It’s a great location, we sat outside and watched the wonderful fountain dance with song. We admired the beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The fondue was delicious. The only thing that got me was the service. The table over sat down at the same time as us and had a larger party. Ours was pretty slow, I noticed that the next table which was seated at the same time as us was already onto dessert when we were just starting on our appetizer. Overall, great location, food is good, but slow service.

This place is a hit and miss for me. Sometimes, you can have a great experience dining here, sometimes not so much, especially if you’re seated downstairs, it could get too noisy. I prefer eating outside or upstairs(nice décor for X-mas). I love their charcuterie platter. The steak and frites, that depends, too. Hit and miss again. Parking– at the Grove’s parking lot. High prices. It could be OK, depending where you’re seated.

I liked both the service, pasta and soup. I really enjoyed the onion soup. Had the house made pasta with sausage and it was good and fresh. Service was prompt and the group of staff tending to us outside did a very good job with our requests. I do appreciate the organic black tea they served. It was some of the best I have had and I am a bit of a tea snob. It was just not what I could say was an outstanding but, just a pleasant evening of dinning

With the exception of the company of my gentleman friend and the kindly busboy that night, my experience at Morel’s was mediocre. Late on a Sunday evening, there weren’t too many choices for restaurants so we just picked Morel’s because it was close enough to the theater, where we’d head afterward. Our server was a type. The Hollywood aspiring actor with a plastic smile and plastic manners. He tended to us as minimally as possible and was not genuine at all. I get it, it’s just a job, but think of it as an opportunity to act like a friendly waiter. I ordered the mussels with white wine sauce and my friend, the roasted chicken. A busboy kindly served us our plates and brought me more crostini later. The mussels weren’t bad and my friend really enjoyed his chicken, but when we got our food, I was surprised to have crostini on my dish, because our server claimed«we don’t have anything like that,» when asked. We didn’t see our server again until the check came. Thank goodness for the busboy because our server alone would have earned the restaurant a single star. The food was fine, but service heavily influences my overall dining experience. I would not choose to dine here again. But, I might change my mind if the server and busboy switch jobs…

The food was excellent! We had Calamari as an appetizer. I had the Cobb Salad and My Significant Other had the Fish and Chips. The Lychee martini, Peach Julep, and Cadillac margarita were all on point! Great place to dine! Note to all diners at the Grove — spend $ 250 or more for the day while shopping and eating and they will be more than happy to wipe your Valet bill CLEANANDFREE!!! Thank us later! Worth Trying!

In theory this is a french restaurant but really they serve everything with the added bonus of having a french onion soup and cheese platters. The food is neither good nor bad but the outdoor seating is perfect for people watching. From the front outdoor spots you even get the enjoy the fountain shows. Its a little overpriced for the quality of food and service you get. If you are coming to the Grove, don’t particularly care about the food and just want to grab a bite with a glass of wine then this is the place for you. Otherwise I would say skip.

We skipped La Loteria at Farmers market and tried this place located at the Grove for a quick bite. We sat at the bar, ordered short ribs, calamari and their sangria. Their short ribs with mashed potatoes was really good! Their sangria was very refreshing!

Morel’s is a nice place to have a drink and people watch at the Grove, however, if you’re looking for quality dining/cuisine, I’d recommend elsewhere. Overpriced sandwiches and crepes mixed with a limited menu really turned me off. The service wasn’t bad, but the hostess could of been better trained as she was completely lost. I had a turkey club, my wife had a French dip, and my mother in law ordered their crepes. The meal ballooned to $ 150 dollars with tip. You probably can find better options food and price wise anywhere in the grove. I should of went to the Cheesecake Factory!

The décor is nice. I was a guest on this visit for a lunch with co-workers. The wait staff may have been new, because there was some confusion and weirdness.(i.e. — Apparently I had the salmon ordered medium rare, although I’ve never heard of this and it was never discussed). The staff seemed a little disgruntled, which is likely due to management being disgruntled. It is apparent when you’re there. All were polite though. I had their salmon entrée, as mentioned, and it comes on a small bed of couscous. The salmon was good and definitely had a good amount of oil or butter infused within, but that’s what restaurants do. We had a couple of decent appetizers. Two in our group tried their steaks and liked what they got. I was surprised that a restaurant with«steak» in their name did not have a steak salad on their menu! I asked and the server said they could put steak on any salad. But why would that obvious staple not be on the menu at a steak restaurant? More weirdness. They have a ridiculously great location. A little revamp of the menu and an increase in the staff and this place could be great.

I asked for some humboldt fog goat cheese on my cheese plate and they gave me the rind… Just the rind. The oysters were fishy. The fries were stale, soggy and cold. I feel sick just thinking about this place.

J’aurais mis aucune étoile mais on né peut pas. Nous sommes venus en vacances à los angeles et avons décidé d’aller au farmer market. A ”heure de manger, nous avions envie d’essayer le restaurant cheecake factory mais ce restaurant était plein à craquer(nous avons compris après pourquoi) Nous avons donc continuer notre chemin et nous sommes tombé sur le restaurant Morel’s, il y avait personne dans le restaurant et nous étions quand même en été pendant le week end et il faisait au moins 30 degré. Nous étions 4 adultes et 1 enfant de 4 ans. Nous demandons 1 table pour 5 personnes, la jeune fille nous donne une table pour 4 personnes, je lui dit non nous sommes 5 car l’enfant mange aussi ce n’est pas chien et en plus le restaurant et vide, il y a plein de place libre. Elle nous répond qu’elle est désolé mais la direction né veut pas donné 5 places quand il y a un enfant, je né sais pas comment on mange a 5 sur une table minuscule de 4 nous étions accablé et dégoûter d’entendre de telles bêtises surtout dans un restaurant désertique. Je lui réponds donc que nous né voulons pas de sa table, qu’elle la garde et que nous partons. Plus loin vers la sorti du restaurant, un homme descend de l’escalier et la serveuse lui dit que nous né sommes pas content, l’homme n’a même pas prêté attention et s’en foutait complètement et il à fait semblant de né pas entendre ce que la serveuse lui disait. Nous sommes sortis du restaurant et la nous sommes aperçu que c’était un restaurant français et nous avons compris cette mauvaise humeur et ce service déplorable car les français né sont pas connu pour le service c’est sur et en voici un bel exemple sauf que ici nous sommes aux Etats Unis et le service est hyper important pour les américains et pour les étrangers car on s’ y habitué vite quand on est bien reçu dans les autres restaurants alors si vous continuez comme ça Mr Morel’s et que vous prenez vos clients pour des cons, vous n’allez pas faire long feux, si vous aviez pas cette emplacement en or, je pense que vous seriez mort. A oui et a voir les photos ça à l’air dégueulasse, heureusement que nous n’avons pas donné notre argent pour manger chez vous. Bön courage;
