My first time ordering Mozza2Go delivery(I’ve picked up before) and I have to say that«meh» best describes my dining experience. The ordering experience – from the happy, enthusiastic young man on the phone, to the pleasant, quick enough delivery driver was perfect – 5 stars to both. But the pizzas, salad, budino and wine were below average, and overpriced. Crust on both the Bianca and Funghi Misti was cool, chewy in a bad way, and overly salted. I had to revive the pizza in the oven the next day to get any crunch whatsoever. The salad, which was free by the way due to my CITI card, went into the trash. Basically lawn clippings with an oily pungent vinaigrette. The budino’s cream and caramel topping came right off when I opened the container, and the pudding itself was mealy, not smooth. I was hoping they would send Joe’s Morellino di Scansano, but alas I believe due to my BlackboardEats deal they sent some rotgut that I haven’t gotten through in several days. And for me, the vino has to suck not to finish cuz my standards are pretty low. My order would have been about $ 80(!) without the deal, but it was $ 55. That is way, way too much money for crappy pizza.

Overpriced and overrated. This was my second time getting pizza here and it was just as mediocre as the first. Some of the toppings are pretty good, but the crust is not. It’s too hard. And the toppings are not evenly distributed — on the meat lovers pizza, on four slices, there was one big meatball and one small meatball. The bacon was a soggy disgusting mess that was fed to the dog. But the biggest problem is the lack of sauce and cheese(yes, the pizzas we got were supposed to have sauce and cheese). We actually added tomato sauce and cheese at home to improve it. The butterscotch budino is incredible. Stella Barra is definitely better — tastier, bigger pizzas and lower cost.

Bad experience. We went for a sandwitch. We were the only people there, we ordered our sandwich and waited for almost 45 minutes to get it. The explanation: they have only one guy making sandwitches. How long does it take to make a panino, man??? Way overrated place like most of Batali’s places. The dude is a business man and know how to squeeze money from people

All kinds of broken promises tonight. No spots in the designated parking area. Hostess at register ignoring six parties waiting for orders. And food not ready at promised time. Shame on you guys. And I didn’t get the Budino I paid for!

Not in the mood for dining in or the restaurant is too full? Mozza to go is the perfect solution for both. Also ideal if you are throwing a dinner party or want to elevate your pizza and movie night to the next level. Prices are pretty much the same as dining in, which is high, but the quality is the same and really something special even when making it in your own oven at home. I suggest pre ordering online or via phone so the wait is not as long. Parking is pretty easy in the housing area a block up from the restaurant. Service was very nice and our food fantastic as always, so worth it to splurge once in a while!

Absolutely HORRIBLE! After 4 nights in the hospital while driving her home, my wife craved good pizza. She’d read good things about Mozza2Go(after our experience those Unilocalsters must be either family or on the payroll). So wifey, replete with many stitches and medication wanted a simple but good pizza Margherita and a good salad. So me, being her loyal guy for 30+ years and on my first day of being nurse, acted on said desires. Simple, you’d think. I ordered a Margherita and a Tricolore salad and a Funghi Misti pizza to boot. Look, we’re foodies. We cook, we drink, we enjoy. Need to state some of this crap to reject the restaurant’s «they don’t know Jack» position. We know Jack. We’ve enjoyed Jack in Italy, Spain, France, Amsterdam, Norway, Denmark… First, the Margherita was just shameful. Very pedestrian red sauce and some cheese and what Mozza calls«Sicilian Basil»… Forget that they left the outer 2 inches of the crust without cheese or sauce on each side… maybe that’s just to insure a little extra profit. Their pizzas are small, maybe 12″ in diameter, so 2″ without cheese, sauce, etc. is way too much. No offense meant for the wonderful Sicilian people, but the«basil» was about as flavorful as day old water cress and about that size. What makes a good Margherita is the flavor blend of wonderful basil with the other ingredients. This was just awful. Shame on them. See exhibit A, a photo of a slice. Next, the Funghi Misti aka mixed mushroom pizza. This tasted okay, but suffered from the same lack of coverage. I know that there is a water shortage here in LA. Is there also an ingredients shortage? Applicable to both items was the extreme excess of salt. Last, the salad… WOW $ 14? Really? Take a handful of mixed trendy greens, add a bit of frisee and 8 Belgian Endive leaves. Next add a small container of perhaps 2 ounces of decent dressing, a heaping tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese, a tablespoon of crunchy croutons and there you have a nice $ 9 salad. I know, the owners have to be able to make the payments on their Bentleys. It’s not the first time and won’t be the last time that I throw away $ 50 on trying an overhyped, egocentric eaterie… Truth be told that we had lunch at Mozza proper maybe 10 years ago… another saltfest… I think I wrote a review on the saltiest sausage ever… Note to chefs and investors: Yes, salt sells drinks. Drinks are profit centers. BUT it takes no skill to add salt to food. It does take skill to prepare wonderfully tasty food with little or not added salt. Most but not all of your patrons are sufficiently physically fit and intelligent enough to add salt on their own. NO, I don’t have high blood pressure, though it did go up a few points when I tasted the food today.

This place is very solid for nicer and elevated take out food. First of all, I love Mozza pizzas and the rest of their food. I knew coming in that getting take out will not be the same as eating at the restaurant. The pizza cools off by the time you eat it and the meatballs are in a container instead of a hot skillet. But the taste is still there! What’s great about Mozza 2 Go is their service. I called ahead to order and they wakes me through the menu and were patient. Then called back to adjust the pick up time so the pizza is the freshest. During pick up, they were friendly, quick, accommodating and just overall very pleasant. Is Mozza 2 Go my preferred method of eating Mozza food? Probably not. But if you chose to, it’s still a win.

Wow $ 30 for a small pizza and a can of coke. The pizza base is good, but for the price I expected a lot more. It takes about an hour for delivery and arrived warm but not hot

WARNING: This is NOT the same menu as Pizzeria Mozza. They have a very limited menu — most of the better/more creative pizzas aren’t available here. But the crusts and ingredient quality are just as strong. The fennel sausage pizza is a tad overrated IMHO. The funghi misti is ok but made me pine for the old Wild Mushroom pizza at Waterloo and City RIP. The salame and chili is quite good. And as for the buratta… I much prefer the squash blossom buratta pizza at Pizzeria Mozza but spreading the bag they give you on the side is fun.

Mozza 2Go is convenient for those that are looking for delicious Pizzeria Mozza food, but for take out. Lots of people that work in the nearby movie studios stop in for quick pick up here. The prices are $$$ if you look at it as take out pizza, but those who are in the know understand that this isn’t just any ordinary pizza. It’s Pizzeria Mozza Pizza. Nothing beats dining in house, but if you want good food with a convenient option this is one of the best places to head too.

Ordered for delivery. Two 12″ pizzas came out to $ 50 w/delivery fee. Really, what we got was incredibly tough crust(like, hurts your teeth to rip it tough) with a small inner portion of topping. The toppings were fine, but I’ve had significantly better elsewhere. Certainly not worth the dent in the wallet. Still willing to give the sit-down restaurant a go, but will never be ordering take out here again.

I know this 3 star rating makes it seem like I’m a hater, but I’m really not! I LOVE their sit-down dining establishment next door, Pizzeria Mozza. However, having a 2Go spot can be risky. As much as I am a fan of Pizzeria Mozza’s pizzas, their take-out quality just doesn’t compare. Even though I placed the pizzas on a pizza stone and popped it into my oven there was something missing. It still had the crispy crust and held its shape, but the flavor was lacking. I came because I purchased an Amazon Local deal: $ 25 for a 10-inch pizza; 1 Butterscotch Budino or Insalata Mista; and 2 nonalcoholic beverages. It was a rockin’ deal, especially with the second pizza for $ 10. We ordered my favorite pizzas: Funghi Misti(an assortment of mushrooms with über umami flavor!) and the Sausage Fennel(tip: take a fork and smash the sausage until the juices and oils take over the pizza with intense flavor). I still enjoyed it, but I much rather prefer dining at Pizzeria Mozza. Street parking is available along Melrose, but has parking time restrictions. I came exactly at 6p on a weekday and found a spot. There is also 15 minute parking available at the rear of the restaurant. I talked to the staff and they also mentioned you can go to valet and let them know you’re picking up at their 2Go.

Had the Amazon Local deal for $ 35 for a 10 inch pizza, choice of salad or dessert and a bottle of wine. Of course you never see deals for Mozza so I jumped on this. The pizza Bianca was $ 2 extra but it’s my favorite on the menu and it’s so worth it. I still crave NY pizza but this delicious crust is in a class all of it’s own. They were only offering red wine today as part of the Amazon deal, but when I explained that I have a slight allergy to some red wines, they were able to swap out a bottle of white. Staff at the counter was helpful, well trained and friendly. You would expect nothing else and you aren’t disappointed. And of course the Butterscotch budino is just out of this world… there is nothing like it. It’s like this creamy, sexy, rich deliciousness. This deal is so worth it… some of the best takeout in LA.

If you’re looking for a «gourmet pizza» and just want to do take out so you can be in and out in a blink of an eye and back to your parent’s basement to continue playing Call Of Duty for another 20 hour session then Mozza2Go will do the job! Call ahead to place your order to avoid any hullabaloo at the counter. Pizza was pretty good — high quality ingredients but pricey($ 19) for a small/personal pizza. However the BUTTERSCOTCHBUDINO that everyone raves about not only lived up to expectations but it EXCEEDED them! It’s SOSWEET that it’ll give you diabetes instantly but it’ll be worth it. I strongly recommend grabbing an order of this even if you’re not a dessert person like myself. As for the service, it was good enough for the little interaction you have picking up the food! I wouldn’t mind going back if I’m in the area and had a deal from Groupon, Livingsocial, Unilocal, etc.

My friend and I ordered the cauliflower fritters as the appetizer. So delicious. And the aioli sauce was mouth watering. For the main dish we ordered the Goat cheese, leeks, bacon, garlic pizza. Also very good. Even the crust was good. Not dry at all. For dessert we ordered the seasonal Pumpkin gelato pie. And OMG was this good. The candied pecans were my favorite part. The crust and rum raisin sauce all went perfect together. It was my first time there and I will definitely be going again.

Yum! Pizzeria Mozza has been on my list of places to try for quite some time. Checking out the site, I was happy to see I could pick up pizza at Mozza2Go throughout the day. When I finally had enough to treat myself, I headed on over for their Aglio y Olio(don’t ask me to pronounce it). For such a simple pie of garlic, fontina/mozazrella cheese, and extra virgin olive oil, this surpassed my expectations. I even found myself finishing off the pizza bones* and pleasantly tasted the olive oil within, and I’m normally not a crust-eater. The crisp texture was spot-on, and the size was perfect for one, or possibly two, but I sure wouldn’t be sharing this with anyone. I even honored Ms. Silverton’s request by not sticking the remaining pieces in the microwave, where I ended up using my oven for the first time ever in the apartment(and I’ve been here since March). For $ 11, this tomato-less pizza was on-spot, and the wait time was about 15 minutes or so. They do offer 15 minute parking in the back, entering off of Highland Ave. but I was able to snag a street spot. *crust.

Came here with a BlackBoard Eats coupon for 2 pizzas, a bottle of red wine, and a butterscotch budino for $ 50. When ordering, I asked how many people it could feed and they let me know 3−4 – this is definitely not the case as it is more suitable for 2 people. Nevertheless, I ordered the proscuitto and sausage/fennel pizzas. To me the prosciutto pizza was very average and didn’t really impress. However, the sausage and fennel pizza was amazingly flavorful. The ingredients really worked well together and gave it a nice bite. The butterscotch budino was also very good, but was literally thimble-sized and would have trouble being shared among 2 people, let alone 3 – 4. Overall, the food here is very good, but the prices are relatively high. I was happy to try the renowned pizza here, but don’t see myself hustling back again anytime soon.

My first sampling of what Mozza2Go had to offer was years ago, but I still remember it … I was hanging out at my friend’s home in Silverlake, and he brought me back a most delicious Porchetta Panini from the shop. The palpably high build quality of the pork sandwich thoroughly impressed me, and I vowed to visit Mozza2Go myself. Unfortunately, it turns out that I’m not very good about keeping promises to myself … my visit to the shop did not happen for at least a year or two. I finally got around to making the trip out to Mozza2Go not too long ago(hey, better late than never, right?), and decided to order the Porchetta Panini again — for old times’ sake(stick with what you know to be good, right?). Unfortunately, while perusing their website, I noticed that the Porchetta Panini was conspicuously absent from the menu. Believing it to be a result of nothing more than an innocent oversight, I gave the shop a call and inquired if they still served my long lost love of a sandwich. The girl on the other end of the line replied in the negative — the Porchetta Panini was dropped from the menu(for«streamlining» purposes). All I could utter was«F***.» So instead, I ended up placed an order for a pizza with the following toppings: bacon, salame, fennel sausage, pancetta, tomato & mozzarella. The pizza was ready for pick-up by the time I arrived at the shop from DTLA. For $ 19, I was handed an individual-size pizza of a high build quality level similar to that of the Porchetta Panini I had consumed years ago. Having said that, by itself, it will only satisfy the most meager of appetites. If you’re starving to the point of being hangry, I would suggest ordering some antipasti, insalate, and/or dolci to accompany your pizza. And on that note … While I was at the shop, I fell victim to an impulse purchase, and forked over an additional $ 11 for a ½lb bag of assorted biscotti. I found them to be a most satisfyingly sweet accompaniment to my savory pizza. Is the food here great? *Oh yes*. Yes it is. Is the greatness of the food worth the relatively prohibitive price tag? As someone who often falls prey to Veblen goods, I am going to withhold comment here — only *you* can decide. I say give them a try, and see how you like what they have to offer. Final notes: the lady working at the counter was very nice. Parking availability in the area was, in my estimation, nothing short of nightmarish.

I tried Mozza2Go using a Blackboard Eats coupon that was issued this past summer. I had been on the lookout ever since I came across Giulianna’s glowing review of Mozza2Go in which she mentioned a BBE coupon The BBE deal I got was 30% off for to-go purchases so I got a squash blossom and burrata cheese pizza; white bean and tuna appetizer ;and the butterscotch budino pudding. It was all truly delicious! Gjelina in Venice is also known for a squash blossom and burrata cheese pizza, which is slightly cheaper. I haven’t visited Gjelina yet, but based on pictures alone, I can say that Pizza Mozzeria’s version carefully and beautifully treats the squash blossom by fanning out the petals out on the pizza pie rather than simply plopping them on the pie(as Gjelina does). Taste matters, but so do visuals so I didn’t mind shelling out the extra dollars for Pizzeria Mozza/Mozza2Go’s version. Home Cook’s Tip RE: Burrata Cheese As various Unilocalers have noted, the Burrata cheese comes in a pouch filled with liquid. If you’re going to reheat the pizza in the oven at home, be sure to prepare the burrata cheese beforehand by draining it of liquid and either cutting or tearing the burrata cheese into pieces. Once the pizza is done according to the instructions, you can then simply add the cheese on top — don’t wait until after the pizza is heated to prepare the cheese or else the pizza will have cooled off when you arrange the cheese. I’ve never been to Pizza Mozzeria, but it was encouraging to hear from Unilocaler Tess M. that the quality of the pizzas of Mozza2Go are consistent — perhaps I’ll find the time and $$$ someday to go to Pizza Mozzeria. For time being, Mozza2Go will do.

First a little rant and whine is in order to put this into perspective… Once upon a time we tried to call to make same day reservations at Pizzeria Mozza, only to be told in no uncertain terms that we were basically nobodies, and could perhaps get a seating at 1145pm that evening. I hadn’t counted on that. Even if the place is a celebrity whorehouse for pizza, it’s still just PIZZA! Nancy Silverton I like, but there is something about a pompous guy wearing orange crocs that chaps my hide(it’s more the arrogance than the shoes, but I can’t rock crocs anyway) I forget that this is LA. Deeply scarred, we have never been in a hurry to go to any of the Mozza’s since that day… Well fate is fickle and so am I, I guess. Armed with an expiring 30% BBE discount as further inducement, we would finally manage to try one of the famous pizzas, even if it was to go next door… They recommend that you call ahead and we did so, right before we jumped in the car from Covina for the 45min ride to get there. Everything on the menu sounded stupendous, even pompous(really?) When we arrived, some of the splendor that I had pictured in my mind went down the toilet when we parked in the back alley for pickup; like I said before, it’s just a pizza. Not so glamorous after all. The actual shop is tinier than I thought, no bigger than a typical bedroom. It’s filled with lots of takeout items designed to complete one’s picnic basket or save you a last minute extra visit to the grocery store… Tastewise, you can temporarily dismiss all of my prejudices that I have said up to this point as the food is actually really wonderful. The Funghi misti with fontina, taleggio & thyme(mushroom with 2 cheeses) pizza had a nice rich mushroom flavor that melded well with the cheeses, pretty sophisticated tasting for a vegetarian pizza. What took the cake was the crust though, puffy and crispy, yet not too chewy, and just enough bread taste to balance each bite of the topping… The Garlic Knots had the same characteristics as the pizza crust, with the added value of whole roasted garlic cloves lining a buttery interior, simply delicious . We also ordered Prosciutto di Parma & Mozzarella di Bufala . The thin slices of pork were unctuous but the burata in the separate container would prove to be just a clumsy addon… At this point I have to give a shout out to Sharon Y. who had the great idea to go to nearby LACMA behind the lamp posts for an impromptu picnic spot with tables and chairs. The only thing that we would be without would be utensils which Mozza fails to provide; fortunately there would be some plastic forks and knives and napkins at LACMA for us to borrow… But as I sort of started to allude to, even Mozza2Go is a little too far for us to be a viable takeout option on a regular basis. Still I can finally say that I had a bite of that mystic pizza…
