Mr Manicure

We used Alfonso to install a new front door. We were very happy with his work and attention to detail. He was personable and responsive. We will definitely use him again.

Reliable team. We needed some items around the house done (ceiling fans & dimmer switches installed, shelf built & installed to hold a microwave). Alfonso got back to me immediately (and it was 4^th of July!). Quoted me very fair prices for the work and we had it scheduled by the weekend.
The work was done well and quickly. We had some problems with the dimmer switches which I bought on Alfonso’s recommendation so my tip would be to ask very specifically about what is needed for the work or if possible go with him to hardware store to make sure the right items are purchased. We had to go back a couple times to get the right equipment but he did go for me the second time so I appreciated that service.
Other than that, Alfonso and his partner Christian were very personable and even gave me great parenting advice (expecting my first in a few months). I will definitely use Mr. Manicure again for our handyman work.

We needed to rebuild our side deck and repair our 2 storied wood balcony. Very lucky to find Alfonso and his team to do the job for us. They are very professional and skillful and delivers wonderful workmanship. Punctual and efficient in every way and very reliable. We could not be happier with the outcome. The new side deck is well build and pretty and the balcony which was pretty rundown before, now looks like new. We have dealt with different contractors throughout the years but Alfonso and his team is the best so far…

I did not end up working with Alonso. However he struck me as an honest and forthright person. He was highly communicative and professional in eliciting requirements for the project.

I contacted Alfonso based on positive reviews here on Unilocal.He came by my home a few hours later to discuss my needs (installing a through-​wall air conditioning unit) and give me an estimate. This morning two members of his team performed the installation and I am quite pleased with the results.
I was prepared to lay painter’s plastic over all of the cabinets and equipment in my home office, but the team was a step ahead of me, bringing their own plastic and making sure that everything that could potentially get dusty was covered. They kept me informed every step of the way to make sure I was happy with where the unit would be installed, and their work is impeccable. The A/​C unit is mounted securely and looks great in the wall. I’m looking forward to being more comfortable when I work this summer and I’m grateful to Mr. Manicure for their excellent job well done.

This review is less about the great class of service I received when the handyman arrived but more about how Alfonso 1) forgot to book my first request entirely and upon me using them again 2) emailed me thirty minutes before my scheduled appointment to cancel it because his men were too busy and suggested a reschedule the following week. It’s completely unprofessional. Twice I moved my early morning work schedule around to work with the timing he promised and he failed. It’s a major bummer. Sorry Alfonso, I cannot recommend your business ethic to any future people in my realm of influence.

Guys do a great job and are total professionals! We had them help out with securing furniture to the wall and reinforcing our couch-​bed. Did fine work quickly at a reasonable cost ($ 45/​hour).

Really great work. Met these guys through my networking group. They came to my place and fixed several annoying little things quickly, efficiently and at a very reasonable cost. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Alfonso was very responsive and professional. I needed some yard work done. A neighbor’s gardener had damaged the our hedge while attempting to trim it, destroying a loquat tree and leaving huge gaps in the hedge.
Alfonso was very responsive by phone and email. He gave me a quote of half what I’d been quoted by a landscaping company, and in fact came in under that. He and his associate were very professional, timely, and great with cleanup. The loquat stump vanished as if it had never been there. The hedge is a lot shorter not but I am optimistic that it will grow in properly after this reshaping.
I would happily use him for more yard and handyman jobs.

BEYOND AMAZING! Alfonso is one of the most incredible people I have ever worked with. This company is very understanding, hard working and won’t leave you unsatisfied. I needed help assembling a Chuggington table and permanently gluing the train tracks to the table. I was left more than amazed and so very happy with what this company did for me. Mr. Manicure will accommodate to your needs, will go above and beyond what you expect, are so respectfully nice and so generously reasonable with their pricing. If you need anything done or need help with any work or project at all, Mr. Manicure is the company to call. You will not regret giving them a call. Thank you Mr. Manicure, you are the best.

Alfonso & Christian are fantastic. They built 2 custom tables and 2 benches for my restaurant the day that I asked for them! the tables and benches are beautiful. They are super easy to deal with and the price is right. I trust these guys so much that I’m going to hire them to do a ton of stuff in my house too. They are not only great at building and fixing stuff, they are just great guys too! THE BEST!

Alfonso and Christian are incredible. I am an artist and needed help building a wall in a gallery. Besides being the nicest people ever, they were more than happy to meet me at Home Depot to grab what I would need. We ate in n out together and it was kind of like a date…
But seriously, these guys are so professional. And so quick. I literally walked away for 5 minutes and they had already finished most of it. I don’t think that’s physically possible but it happened.

I was looking for a handyman/​small project contractor to help me build a wood storage shed for the side yard — and I needed it done stat.
First few people I called weren’t available, then one recommended Alfonso and his new-​ish Mr Manicure company.
NOTE: they do NOT give manicures. He told me the idea behind the company name is that a «manicure» implies meticulous detail, expertise, improvement over previous condition, and a finished result that is attractive and functional… Ok it’s a little bit of a stretch, but it does apply here.
Alfonso dispatched his guy Christian to meet me at Home Depot. He was there on time with his pickup truck, helped me gather and load all the wood and supplies, and then met me back at my place. He has good construction skills and excellent pro-​grade tools. Alfonse came to join the process and it wasn’t long before the shed was built.
Their pricing is kind of right in between a craigslist-​found handyman (where you might be taking a chance on someone ‘risky’ at your house) and a full-​on construction contractor/​corporation. Alfonso is bonded with insurance so you don’t have to worry about that either. If you need something more elaborate, they are partnered with a licensed contracting corp and so additions to code etc are do-​able also. His brochure says they do landscape work as well, but I just used them for this construction job.
The guys are really pleasant to deal with, straight up honest and very respectful of the environment. They cleaned everything up really well after work as well.
