These ladies usually post up near my apartment in East Hollywood under a bridge at the corner of Heliotrope and Clinton. They’re only there on the weekend, but they’re always a welcome site. I’ve only ordered papusas de frijoles y queso, but they’re always delicious ANDCHEAP($ 2 each). The ladies who hold down the taco«truck» are really sweet, and make great papusas. They usually bring a few deck chairs with them so you can sit and wait/eat on the street near the truck; I’ve always thought that was a nice gesture you don’t always get from a food truck. If you see Mr Taco around your way, check him out, introduce yourself to the Prince of Papusas.

This spot is DELICIOSO! Family owned and family run, their food is ONPOINT! I’m a picky centroamericana when it comes to my pupusas, and theirs are sooo delectable! The only other place I eat them besides the ones made at my house. Their aguas frescas are also really amazing and their hot drinks are an awesome way to stay warm on those cold nights. AND their prices are ridiculously cheap for the quality of food you are getting. I always bring my friends here and they leave super satisfied. Most definitely a hidden jewel in LA.

We found this little taco truck hidden down a small street while riding thru the streets of LA during CicLAvia( ). I was excited because we didn’t see any other good food trucks near by AND I’m a big fan of taco trucks. While I was waiting in line to order, my friend turned around and said they only have carne asada. I said, «What!!!» How do you call your truck Mr. Taco if you only have carne asada??? I was skeptical after I heard that. I ended up ordering 4 carne asada tacos and a water to share with my wife. Total came out to $ 5.00. Which is the regular price for a taco truck. There were’t many people infront of us so the order came out pretty fast. I have to say being that they only served carne asada, the meat wasn’t bad. It some flavor, kind of dry, but the salsa made it better. O also they only had 1 choice for salsa. Usually taco trucks have the«red salsa» or the«green salsa». This one only had a red/orange color salsa. And to be honest it wasn’t bad at all. But if you call your truck Mr. Taco, you gotta have more than just carne asada. Maybe they didn’t expect much business that day and only carried one meat. But if thats all they have all the time, I would suggest they change their name to Mr. Asada.
