I have been going to My Unique Salon for a long time, probably 8+ years, and I am almost always 110% satisfied after getting a massage or treatment there. I get probably 2 or more Thai massages per month there. This is definitely a one of a kind experience. They walk on your back; they stretch you like you’re doing yoga; they can adjust your bones like a chiropractor. It’s all incredibly relieving. When I feel like I’m getting a cold or achy I go to My Unique and get a 2-hour massage and I’m magically sick no more. I’m not sure why others say this place is dirty. It is VERY clean. It’s not particularly fancy on the inside but always clean and smells very fresh. The owner is wonderful, accommodating, and very professional. The masseuses are very professional and licensed. Some employees there don’t speak fluent English but if you’re patient with them you will figure everything out just fine. Massages are $ 40 for one hour for a standard Thai/Swedish combo. They have an early bird special(before 2pm) for $ 30 per hour. OR if you go regularly like I do, you can buy a package of 4 massages(to use at any time of day) for $ 120, making them $ 30 per hour each. You can also share these vouchers from your package with someone else. Makes a great gift! Some tips for going in: Once you are led to your room take off all your clothes but leave your underwear ON(ladies may remove their bra if they are comfortable with that – there is a blanket on the table to cover yourself). Then you lay face down and wait for your masseuse. He/she may ask if you have a problem area or if you want your massage to be hard, medium or soft. I definitely recommend hard. As one of my masseuse’s told me there once before: «If it not hurt it not Thai.» If you like a pretty firm massage you can ask them to walk on your back. More tips: Try and go earlier in the day as opposed to night because usually the masseuses have more strength and energy earlier in the day so you get the best massage they could give. Give a few masseuse’s a try then find one you really like so that person can really get to know your body. Also – they take walk-ins but I always think it’s a good idea to call before you head there to make sure, and that way you can request a specific masseuse. They often have 1 or more male masseuses, and I find the males to always be especially great because I think many people don’t like having a male masseuse so they don’t get as much business so they work extra hard for the business they do get. They’re always very professional, so don’t feel weird having a man massage you. I actually find it pretty rude when I see someone turn down the male masseuse because of his gender. Biggest tip is tip big! I know it’s only a $ 30−40/hr massage but I usually tip $ 15 – 20 for that hour – mostly because that’s the amount of $$ I would expect to be tipped if I was climbing all over someone’s body for an hour. Also just like everywhere else, the bigger you tip the harder they work for you. And it’s still only $ 50(including tip) for a full hour of one of the best massages of your life. People who tip cheap may think $ 20 is ridiculous, but they’re getting bad massages and I’m getting great ones. The owner has two other locations – one(called My Unique 2) that is right next to the Target/Macy’s of Eagle Rock plaza. And the other is in Sun Valley. This location on Eagle Rock Blvd is right next to Auntie Em’s, a bakery/café/brunch place. Great to grab a scone and a juice after your life changing massage. HIGHLYHIGHLYRECOMMEND! Become a regular like me!

I usually don’t write review. But, I read despite that business owner don’t keep their promise. They promised me that I could use my purchase after I come in for the first time. When I called today, she said it has been too long. Moreover, the environment of the salon is not that great. It is considerable dirty. Thank you for reviewing my comment.

I have been coming here for years. I even bring my Vietnamese mother when she comes to town. So, I trust them to do a good job everytime. Ive never had a bad experience and ive been here at least 15 times. It’s close to my house, the staff is friendly, the place is clean, and it’s reliable that I always get a good and inexpensive massage. My husband even gets me gift certificates here because he knows that I enjoy it and it’s easy for me. It’s easily missed though so just note that it’s and on the same block as Auntie Em’s. It’s not fancy but I don’t need that. I recommend you try it.

Talk about taking one step forward and 3 steps back. I am sad to report that I will no longer be using this massage place unless it changes ownership. Just 2mo ago the owner had made amends with me by taking me to the new Unique Salon as I had thought I was booking with the original that is walking distance from me. Now, I walk in for my 2hr massage with Paula and the severely overweight plus language impaired lady at the front states that my massage is now $ 80 instead of $ 60 as their rates have changed. Hmmmm, I say ‘How come you did not mention this big change over the phone just a moment ago?’ Fat lady says ‘You did not ask.’ WTF!!! Now I am suppose to inquire about rates to all places where I go? I was trying to stay calm and so I stated. Since I did not know about this, and I was not informed prior to my arrival, can I get the prior rate today and next time we can apply the new rate? Fat Lady ‘NO, you did not ask’ OK, at this moment I know that the owner would have a shit fit toward this unhelpful employee as I have seen the true type of business dedication from the owner. Mind you, I walk in and 2 masseuses are sitting in chairs with their feet up watching movies on their iPads!!! One may think if business is this slow you should have an open business sense and work with your customers. One potential acceptable option from fat lady would of been to call manager and report the situation and I can guarantee that I would of been able to get old rate with understanding that next time new rates apply. I cannot believe the owner would allow such behavior from employees. I am sad because Paula is awesome but this place is starting to stink. I will wait for new ownership, it is just a matter of time with this type of crap going on.

Weird not seeing any reviews because Ive been coming here for years and it shows the other location(2750 Colorado Blvd) CLOSED and that’s not true, I was at that location last week. I believe the 1 hour massage is $ 35 and you cant beat that. 1 hour or either Swedish or Thai or combo. I Purchase the CREATIVEWELLNESSPACKAGE which is a 4 pack for $ 120 so you end up only paying $ 30 an hour. Overall Ive had a great experience and Ive been there with friends 5 or 6 times and non of us have ever had a complaint.
