Nail City

Came here today and wanted to get a mani pedi. The pedi was good and the mani I had shellac before and they charged $ 5 to clean it up & the $ 12 mani so alltogether $ 17. Since I wanted a break for my nails and didn’t want to get more shellac I told them to only do the base coat and no nail polish. I’m embarrassed but I really do have to show their work and the extra charge of $ 5 for making it look so good.

This was one of the worst experiences at a nail salon that I have ever had in my life. I switched up from my usual place since this was the only place nearby that was open late. What a mistake it was. They took me an hour before closing and the staff could not have been more rude. I had gel on my nails, and the manicurist literally did not even wait for the acetone to soak before she began aggressively filing the gel off. She continued to file my nails, even when the gel was gone. My nails are beyond damaged a month later and I left without any paint on my hands or feet. They talked loudly the entire time and had very bad attitudes. Never again!!! Beware!

by far the worst nail place I have ever been too. I got a full set acrylics and the lady who did my nails, the oldest lady there did them horrible. she used no tools on my nails besides a nail file which resulted in uneven acrylic, unshaped and sloppy nails. it’s been two days and two nails have already broke due to the poor application. I could tell the lady was eager to finish although I had arrived at 7pm and they close at 9pm. do not go here. worst nails I have ever had and not worth the money for such cheap and horrible quality.

neighborhood local nail shop — used to love them but seems they have stopped doing top coats and the manicures chip in 2 days.
also if they are busy they won’t even acknowledge you walking in the door
they also give you major attitude if you don’t tip in cash or ask to leave on your card
sadly going to have to find a new spot

Don’t go to Candy. She is the worst manicurist ever. All she does is talking and ending with a bad job.

It’s hard to find a great manicurist so when I find one I stay with her even when I move miles away and the drive becomes extremely inconvenient but when my fav girl stopped showing up at work I had to search for a new home. After one terrible experience after another I stumble into this place. They might not be overly enthusiastic but I’d prefer that relaxed vibe over the constant hard sell any day! Because when I left my nails were absolutely flawless. And believe me I exam them closely ;-P and every nail was perfect. Which isn’t easy to do. I’m a new superfan and will happily be returning

Worst nail experience I’ve ever had. The women there are rude, they chase you down, harass you, and argue with you about tips. The acrylic job was awful, and she was so upset that I didn’t want to use that damn atm that she rushed me out of the salon with wet nails, all of which are now ruined. Not to mention she cut me and man-​handled my nails. I feel like I’ve been tortured, charged for it, and then told I needed to be grateful and tip for it! Unbelievable.
Rest assured, I will NEVER RETURN. Ever.
You’re better off having your four year old niece or nephew do your nails.

The best nail place on melrose ! clean environment and the girls are nice and really professional ! I have tried classic mani padi … And it was bomb, soo relaxing with affordable prices! Just 39 $ ! My new favorite nail plaaace

Good service. Clean place. I always find street parking in the front. Cute and nice.

Only one acrylic manicurist, she’s nice and funny and the job is good.
They have a fridge with water and sodas.
Great selection of polish. Mostly opi.
It’s not the typical cheap $ 20 mani pedi dirty and loud.

Great service and they are open late. Very comfortable atmosphere. They even have tv to watch while getting your nails done. They were also nice enough to offer water or tea while I relax.

ugh I went to this place because it was open late and I needed to get my nails done. I walked in and wasn’t greeted. So I said hello I’m here for a gel manicure. she showed me colors, I picked one and sat down in this really comfy chair. she really was aggressive with getting off the nail polish and almost sanded my previous gel off.
then she did my nails…
really aggressive cutting my cuticle’s and left a lot of them still on my nail. I still see a hang nail too… like ugh. anyway when I went home and washed my hands after they put all that oil on it I noticed that not ALL of my nail was covered. she still missed the corners of 9 out of 10 of my nails… how is it this possible?

Two days ago I had literally the best mani/​pedi I’ve ever had in my life here! And I’ve been to much fancier/​pricier places. I’ve been here several times before and have always been pleased, but this latest trip was simply over the top. My best friend was in town visiting and she was blown away, too.
It’s a very clean place with super comfortable massage pedi chairs, good music and E! on the TV. The staff is always really nice, smiling and pleasant. I got the Classic mani/​pedi ($ 38), and it seemed so luxurious! Extensive exfoliating and massages of the feet and hands are included. They even surprised me with a hot stone massage that was amazing (I don’t think this is usually part of the classic, but they were giving me the royal treatment today)! I was floating on a cloud when I left. Actually, I felt so good I tipped like 60%, lol.
The quality of the work was second to none. My nails are truly flawless. I’ve had so many compliments already! They got the shape of my nails just right, and the polish is even and perfect. It’s been 2 days and it still looks like they were just done an hour ago. Bottom line: I’m not bothering to go anywhere else again!

VERY INTO IT. We had 45min to kill before dinner and a desire to treat ourselves, so in we scooted for «express manis», which were $ 8 or 12, I don’t remember, and still included a solid massage, though no hot rocks (or Pop Rocks, which, come to think of it, would have been unreal). Not particularly friendly, totally fine by me as obs I have stranger danger — but dear Lord did she listen when I said I wanted my nails short — like, they probs haven’t been this trim since I was plucked from my mother’s uterus — that said, she did ignore my request for round and went square (perhaps picking up on the vibe my inevitably popped collar was throwing down), but, more importantly than any of this is the fact that a) solid selection of colors (Essie, OPI, gel shizz, acrylics — b/​c I guess in some neighb here is still ’98 and that’s acceptable); b) clean; c) my mani lasted a solid 2 weeks without chipping, which is pretty unreal.
Don’t come for the hugs, rainbows, and butterflies, but if you need a quick, inexpensive cure for all that ails your Weho-​dwelling cuticles, not a bad place to wind up. I think a full mani is $ 15, mani/​pedi is $ 35ish, though don’t quote me on that.

The service is always fast and friendly. The prices are reasonable. The salon is clean. It’s not the best place I’ve been to but for the price and location I will go again and again.

This is what you call a 5 STAR service! Rushed in for a mani/​pedi told them I was starving and the sweet and accommodating staff brought me strawberries, apples and yummy dessert.

I use to come here occasionally years ago but I went back recently on a holiday because it was one of the only places open. They have a nice color selection and I like the hot stone pedicure… However — my cuticle is all cut up … Ouch. I understand this happens from time to time and could happen at any nail shop — it was just the worst I’ve had it cut thus far so that sucks. But outside of that I don’t have any issue with this place — it’s just not my go to spot. It’s worth a try… Just tell them to ease up on your cuticles

Take your money elsewhere… trust me when I tell you! Actually, don’t trust me, just take a look at some of the other reviewers of this establishment.
How rude is it to stress someone about a tip?! Re-​frickin-​lax! Maybe if you didn’t pressure customers about a tip, you’d actually get a pretty decent one :-/​
Candy is something else! She gets easily offended if you ask her to correct something you simply don’t like. The last time I checked I AM paying for the service for crying out loud… so can I please be HAPPY about paying for it… because I HAPPENED to LIKE the finished product?!?
Oh and don’t tell her that when she did the fill the last time, you didn’t really like how «thick» the acrylic was, despite me telling her a couple of times while she was doing it. o_​O She will proceed to file your nails so rough and vigourously that she will make your cuticles completely raw! A piece of work I tell ya! Smdh
And since when did a fill and a pedi become $ 42 but a mani/​pedi is $ 40!!! Really?! –_​–
When she told me the mani/​pedi was $ 40 and I questioned it and then proceeded to give my card, I told her that I didn’t know a mani/​pedi would be that much there. I told her I wouldn’t have enough to tip.
She then asked me twice in a 2-​second span did I want to put the tip on the card, while shaking my card at me. Then she grunted and walked away when I said I couldn’t tip now because of the surprise charge.
I gave a cash tip anyway but a very SMALL one for the attitude she gave THIS TIME, the LAST TIME and for the RAW cuticles.
Little Miss Candy was so upset that she forgot the table where you sit to dry your nails looks out the window to Melrose and at night you can see reflections of the people behind you. o_​O I caught her standing up, but leaning in to her colleagues that were sitting next to her and boy, was she going off… in a whisper… only for me to turn around and lay eyes on her until «she» turned around, just so I could let her know I SEE YOU! Smh
Will never come back…

I’ve been trying to find a nail salon in LA for a while now. So far this one is my favorite. I usually get a classic express mani or gels and they do a great job. It usually lasts a few days.
They have comfortable chairs, good Polish colors, current magazines & E! Channel is always on their TV :)
My one complaint is … They aren’t totally friendly. I am not always greeted at the door. One time my manicurist came back to give me my 5 $ change and said «for me?» And made it really awkward so I had to say yes… Even tho my mani is only 12 $ and unusually tip 3 or 4 $ but whatever it wasn’t a big deal. They do a good job so it’s fine. Just kinda bugged me.
Overall it’s good but not amazing

Nail City is my go to for my mani/​pedi (and some times waxing) needs.
Everyone here is so sweet and they’re open until 9p (last appointment is 8:30 but call around 8 to make sure you get in)
A basic mani pedi is about $ 32. They’re super clean & have a huge selection of polishes.

Wir haben alle (4) eine Maniküre und Pediküre gemacht.
Bei mir war das wasser für die Füsse viel zu heiss eingestellt und ich wurde nicht gefragt ob die Temparatur stimmt. Die Kosmetikerin war sehr grob und hat mir beim Reinigen unter dem Fussnagel in die Haut gestochen, was sehr schmerzhaft war. Ich wurde nicht gefragt wie ich die Fingernägel gefeilt haben will, sie hat sie lediglich gerade abgeschnitten und kurz mit der Feile gefeilt. Die Fingernägel sind anschliessend schräg gewesen und ich musste sie später selber gerade feilen. Nach 4 Tagen hat der Gel-​Lack angefangen zu splittern.
Bei den Jungs sahen die Fussnägel nach der Behandlung schlimmer aus als vorher und mussten selber noch nachgeschliffen werden, da sie nur mit den Nagelknipser abgeknipst wurden.
Ich und meine Kollegin wollten an den Fuss– und Fingernägeln Gel-​Lack, meiner Kollegin haben sie nur zwei schichten an den Fingern gemacht und an den Fussnägel normaler Lack gemacht, da sie dies so für besser hielten. Wir hatten beide das Gefühl, dass sie das so gemacht haben, weil sie keine Lust dazu hatten Gel-​Lack hin zu machen, da es zu aufwendig ist. Zudem hatte sie kleine Bläschen unter dem Lack.
Die Hornhaut an den Füssen wurde nicht wirklich abgeschliffen, weil sie nir schnellschnell mit dem Bimsstein drüber geschliffen haben.
Der Massagestuhl war nur bei einem von uns vieren eingeschaltet.
Als wir am Schluss nur 15% Tip gegeben haben wurden sie wütend und wir mussten nachzahlen.
Obwohl das Personal allgemein freundlich war, kann ich dieses Studio gar nicht empfehlen.
