No. A – Number A – Boutique

I loved this place but I just drove by today and it’s gone :(

Usually a total hit or miss with this store. Maybe ¹⁄₃ times will I actually find something worth buying. There is usually only one worker/​cashier who stays at the front. they greet you in a slightly welcoming way? But they keep to themselves which I don’t mind at all actually.
The store is pretty big but with selective items that are usually on the pricier end. I usually like small boutiques because you can find some really cute accessories/​jewelry that you can’t find elsewhere, but haven’t had that happen to me yet at No. A :\. I miss kimski :(
I still stop by once in a while since I live nearby so it’s never a hassle for me. BUT I wouldn’t really recommned anyone to go out of their way to shop here unless you know they have the item you want.

So, I’m a picky shopper. I tend to love cute tees, dramatic statement pieces and elegant minimalism. This place has it all!
Both times I’ve visited and walked out with something that you don’t see everyday. The sales associates are helpful and the owner is downright doll! The brands range from Kill City to Zanerobe to UNIF.
Definitely a must when in Little Tokyo!

This boutique is in the heart of Lil Tokyo, but it is the soul of Lil Tokyo.

Even though they only have like 6 racks of clothes, I spend 3 hours in here.
Because everything is so nice, I just get overwhelmed.
I get overwhelmed and end up looking at the same things over and over again. Sarenas all likeeee, «Tiff you’ve tried that one on already –_​_​_​_​– are you going to buy it or not! hurry up».
Honestly I don’t care, I drove and it’s not like she puts money in for gas. If it’s really bothers her she can take the amtrak home. Don’t you hate a bug-​a-​boo?

Number A embodies what a boutique should be: one-​off, exclusive and unique finds that aren’t hanging on the racks of every Nordstrom, Macy’s and Bloomies.
Yes, this nummy shop sells great clothes (sans Dior prices), but my fave items are the fab accessories that include cork clutches and jewelry by local designers.
So I’m suggesting you make a day of it… how about an exhibit at the MOCA Annex, ramen in Little Tokyo, then a trip to Number A.
Done.

This boutique is pretty awesome. I was not expecting to find some great pieces like I did. Even my boyfriend found some shirts he really liked that look great on him.
Their collection is a mixture of unique finds and modern styles for men and women that I haven’t seen anywhere else. If you like them on facebook you get 20% off!

It has great selection of menswear. I usually go here to buy friend’s gifts… But for myself… I can’t really find any womenswear that I like.
WOMENSWEAR — all the clothes for women has a bit of twist to it… unique and one of a kind… But I like just simple, chic, sleek clothes… so this place isn’t for me.
MESWEAR — LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! SIMPLE BUT FASHIONABLE. Owner sure has taste in fashion. (mens only) I usually take my guy friends here and they fall in love with this place.
It offers many brands and the prices are on the pricey side… But it you shop mens clothing aren’t they all?

I hate to be this guy and gripe about insignificant petty little issues when there are way bigger problems in the world but i have to get this off my chest …
Here goes:
I want to purchase a Bellroy wallet so I went to their website and picked out 2 styles that I like, I can easily order it from them online but I wanted to check out the 2 styles in person so I found the one retailer in LA that carries them GREAT! They’re in Little Tokyo not too far from Burbank, so I called to make sure they had the 2 I wanted in stock, the clerk «oh yes we have like 12 of them» GREAT! «i’ll be there soon» i said. an hour later I get there and she says «I have good news and bad news I’m sorry but we don’t have the ones you asked about in stock but the good news is I can order them for you» turns out the store is pretty tiny which leads me to believe she never walked the 10 or so feet to the glass case where they display them to check.
I gave them only 2 stars because of my one experience, I’m sure otherwise they are a great boutique …

I only really come here for the Imperial Barber Products. They’re the only place in this area that carries them. The next closest would be another hair place on Sunset in Echo Park.
They do carry a nice selection of clothes though. I don’t usually shop just to shop, but looking through here, they have a lot of good pieces from brands like GPPR, Nudie Jeans, and Doc Martens. I liked a lot of the bags I saw here though I didn’t catch any of the brand names.
A couple different guys have helped me when I come here, and they all seem nice and friendly. Definitely a cool place to stop by when you’re in Little Tokyo.

Very good place for unique and fashion forward garment pieces ! if your on a budget I would have to advice to not come here as there prices for some shirts and scarfs etc are able to brake the bank if your looking for a bargain staright up got to the alleys, There not couture but Like I said if you want somethign what seems to be not many other boutiques have in this area ! I recomend shoppin here !

Little selection for both men and women but the quality of the selection is on point. I love everything the store sells! Like literally everything. Very trendy, eclectic, different… you’ll definitely stand out with an outfit from No. A and that’s what fashion/​style is all about, right?

No. A is considerable the crème de la cremme of LA Fashion! As a DTLA newbie as of recent, I must have a nearby, go to spot for cool, trendy threads. This is it! I’ve only been when a particular staff member is working, but he’s very cool & helpful! Must stop in Little Tokyo!
I’m just fascinated with the Nylon Japan mags they have on their coffee table. So much that I went to purchase them myself at Kinokuniya’s across the way.

I didn’t see anything worth buying. There’s no point in shopping here when there’s a larger selection of the brands they carry from various online sites that you can get a discount on. Just a very limited slection of overpriced stuff.

I have been to No. A many times and everytime I step foot in the door they have new dope S*#% that you usually can’t find just anywhere… They also have a great unique selection t-​shirts, not the boring kind of stuff you see at other wanna be cool stores. The owner or owners must have great style becasue if you ask me they have great taste in clothes and décor is spot on.

I happened to walk by during a huge sale so I took home a cuteskies skirt (with a belt) and fun dress ditty for less than $ 60.

This little chic boutique has come to my rescue on countless occasions my usual routine of work all day and traffic always leaves me with no time to head home and always running late and in a rush to head out to meet pal’s for drinks and Link’s and i don’t dare wear what i was working in all day .
So here i come rushing on in and in a frantic mess low and behold i feel at ease the second i run through the door they are always so helpful and always give great suggestions and are open pretty late on weekends. Also always have a awesome sale rack!
I am always able to find a complete look anything from sexy hosiery to feather earrings bold leather cuffs dainty yet fierce necklaces and just flat out drop dead SMOKING hot funky digg’s.
I come in wearing work attire and leave a complete hot minx ready to hit the town who would have known i just did a quickie in the dressing room
(costume change for those with mind’s in the gutter)
Don’t now what i would do with out this unique little find.
I LOVE that all the merchandise is not your usual trendy Mc Trendy uniforms it’s all local designers with quality pieces from jewelry to attire and all at a affordable cost !
This place is also where i did all my Holiday shopping and found unique pieces for all my very artistic unique group of pal’s.

I finally went a second time to this store after a year and was very impressed. I thought it would be closed or they would have nothing I would like except the jewelry. I was totally wrong!
They now have mens clothes that I would defiantly pick out if I was a celebrity stylist. The sneak are awesome but not expensive under $ 250.00 The have great coats, shirts…
For women I saw a sick blazer that I want so bad. I’ve never seen a blazer like that. One of a kind. I saw beautiful coats, silk dresses with racer back, lovely top basic tee and blouses. Here I found my armor ring for $ 25 and mini fanny pack belt for $ 35.
I rather shop here than Kitson or any of those places on Robertson or sunset that’s so expensive and where everyone goes to.
This would be the place I would keep a secret from friends who ask where did you get that friend? It was a gift;-)

Number A is fashionable semi-​new clothing store. I’m kind of afraid it might be closing though. The place has a wide selection of sweet t-​shirts and stylistic pants. I love t-​shirts that make no sense whatsoever. The place has plenty of room and doesn’t feel cramped like many Little Tokyo stores. You can find some rare stuff that can really set off your outfit to get noticed. They supposedly have some international stuff that’s hard to find, I didn’t really notice. I saw some stuff that was exclusive to the internet made available in their store.

So No. A is what you want a specialty boutique to be, special. With Forever 21 doing the bang up job they’re doing nowadays, boutiques really have to take chances and carry really unique merchandise.
Here’s what I liked about No. A:
1. The layout, clean and easy to navigate yet stylish
2. The selection of merchandise, hip but not too hipster, though there were def some pieces in there like that.
3. Wide price range, so you might fall in love with that super cute dress for 140 bucks, but if you can’t afford it you can walk out with a super cute $ 12 ring.
4. Good brands that aren’t totally f-​d out like Lazy Oaf, Kill City, My Pet Square. Although, where’s the Beautiful/​Decay apparel guys?
5. Good selection for men and women.
I’ll be going back and picking myself up something nice there soon.
