For DTLA and for the price, the sushi is really good! I’m going to be a regular here, can’t believe i didn’t come here sooner.

Come here often for lunch, because it’s closely located to my workplace. The selection of items is ample and the food is always fresh. I tend to get a two items combo, which always comes with miso soup, salad and rice and it’s less than $ 9. There are two types of dressing available, ad both are a good choice. The sushi are always good quality. the less than $ 6 chicken bowl is plentiful and filling, as well as a very healthy choice for those watching their calorie intake.

Great place for lunch on a budget. The two item rice bowl is enough for two people and is hot and fresh. Delicious! I get the teriyaki chicken and BBQ beef over a bed of steamed rice and they even include a bowl of miso soup. Japanese food on a budget in downtown Los Angeles at its best. The staff is always friendly and the food is made fresh to order.

I tried out this place for lunch. I went around 3 in the afternoon and it was pretty empty. I waited less than 10 mins for my meal to be ready. The employees were very friendly. Only thing that disappointed me was that they don’t give you extra sauce when you ask for more you have to pay.

Came here in my lunch today. It’s located in the 818 Wilshire Food Court, I wanted Big Paul’s Sandwiches but they had ran out bread, with the exception of Squaw Bread, which is good but not what I was looking for. Anyway. I got a two item Noda Bowl with Spicy Chicken and Tempura for $ 5.95,. It come’s with Miso Soup and steamed veggies. It was really good for the price. I also got a 4 piece Spicy Krab roll, bomb, but the rolls are SUPER small. The staff was fast and attentive! –1 for the portion of the rolls and the fact that they were out of all fountain drinks except Coke and Lemonade.

I absolutely love this place for sushi and Japanese food. Many say it’s not very ‘authentic’ but to me, it’s as good as it gets for downtown LA and by seeing all the people eating there says another. I much rather go here than Octopus or another larger restaurant type place. It’s in a food shopping court so you can’t see it from the street. Best values are their combo items where you select a ‘Teriyaki’ type item and a sushi roll item for about 8.50 it comes with a salad and soup too a great value and good portions. I love their Yaki Udon which is very filling and tasty. It’s my only go to place when I want some Japanese and/or sushi for lunch.

came here 4 times — only got food once(the first time). first time was about two weeks ago: i got the two item lunch combo with shrimp tempura and crunch roll. not terrible, but not great. tempura was soggy. tempura sauce had no flavor. the crunch roll was decent. miso soup was good(kinda tough to mess that up tho). the salad w the ginger dressing was delicious(prob favorite part of the meal). overall not bad — for the price i considered it a decent lunch option. so fast forward to this week: last week i noticed they had an unagi bowl on their menu. i love eel, so i was hopeful of this place. i went three times this week to order it, all three times they told me that they didnt have any eel. first time i tried to order it, i came at the end of the day. i figured okay, maybe they ran out, no biggie. so i went earlier day 2. and then even earlier day 3(today). all with no luck. not sure what the issue is, but if you have it on the menu, you should probably have some for when people order it. not sure if i feel like making the walk back only to get shut down again. would have given 1 star, but since the food i did try was not terrible, i bumped it up to 2.

I discovered Noda on Unilocal — as I’m a big sushi-head, I was on the hunt for a go-to lunch spot since I started working in DTLA2 months ago. Noda has many lunch options, varying from the lunch steal of 1 item(chicken teriyaki, BBQ beef, etc.) rice bowl for $ 5.95 or 2 items for $ 6.95, to the Chef Sushi special $ 9.90 — 2 Tuna, 2 Salmon, 1 Shrimp, 1 Yellowtail, choice of 6-piece Spicy Tuna roll or Crunch Roll, salad & miso soup. There are also lunch combos where you pick from two columns A & B, with options like Salmon Teriyaki, Fried Gyoza, Chicken Teriyaki, Pork Katsu, Spicy Tuna/Cali/Crunch Roll for(I think) $ 8. Review for Chef Sushi Special: –The fish is fresh, which is by far the #1 thing I look for when eating sushi. –Sushi rice is pretty good quality. –Sushi pieces were fairly small @ 1 ½ inches in length so I had to take a star off –Miso soup was straight up soup, nothing but broth — but its flavor made up for it –Although people love the Sesame dressing here, I always opt for the Ginger Carrot dressing — the Sesame one didn’t taste like there was any sesame in it, but rather on the sweet side… it also threw me off that it looked like Ranch dressing so my mind & tastebuds were duking it out! –Spicy Tuna Roll — yummy, fresh and you get 6 fairly big pieces Review for Pork Katsu & Crunch Roll: — Pork Katsu was overcooked, crunchy but that was because they left it in the fryer too long. Bits of it got stuck in my teeth — I was disappointed so I had to take another star off. — Crunch Roll — I don’t know why I tried it, I like sushi with all its raw bits but just wanted to try something new. This has fried tempura shrimp wrapped in rice, rolled in crunchy tempura bits. Pieces were big, it was tasty but the Spicy Tuna roll is better All in all, I like Noda as a lunch option. It helps that it’s right across the street from my building too. Customer Service is awesome, they are very polite & friendly & I’ve never waited longer than 10 minutes for my order. They get a pretty big crowd, so come before or after the lunch rush 12−1pm.

Noda is located in a very small food court on Wilshire Blvd, and it is a great lunch spot if you’re on a budget and hungry. The portions are generous and the prices are very affordable– $ 10 can get you A LOT of food and a drink. I tried the salmon teriyaki and tempura shrimp roll lunch combo that includes a side salad, rice, and miso soup. The salmon was… interesting. It was edible, but it just didn’t look very pleasing and the texture was too soft. The teriyaki sauce made eating the fish a lot more bearable. The shrimp tempura roll was pretty good. Not great, but the rice wasn’t hard and the contents were fresh. My favorite part of the meal was the GINGERSALADDRESSING! It was sooo good – sweet, tangy, with a little ginger kick. The total for the combo came out to $ 8.81 which is pretty good for downtown prices! The food court itself is nothing to get excited about. It’s pretty drab, with only a few dining options and some seating at the center. Get your food to go because the ambiance here is depressing. Fast, cheap, and filling. *no msg, no skin, & no bones in their food.

Came here for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by my meal. There was nobody in line, so that worried me a little, but I figured it was worth a try. I got a two meat combo for $ 7(incl. tax) and the amount of food was very generous! The spicy chicken surprised me because it came fried, which I don’t prefer, but the flavor was good(though I wish it were spicier) and the bbq beef came very similar to bulgogi but was a little too sweet. Overall, this was one of my least expensive lunches in DTLA and the food tasted good.

Not bad at all. For $ 6, you can get a one-item combo. I managed to get the spicy chicken(fried), vegetables on rice as well as a side of miso soup. The spicy chicken was fried, mostly batter and not so much chicken. The«spicy» part of it might have just been some chili paste on it. It could have been better. Vegetables were bland, but crisp. It’s alright — compared to some of the fast food restaurants that use ingredients not as «fresh», it’s value for your money. It’s alright, you shouldn’t expect much.

If you’re downtown and want Sushi… Go Here. The sushi is awesome. The potions are a nice size and the staff is great. I normally purchase the baked salmon with double salad with sesame dressing but the teriyaki combos and shrimp tempura rolls are delicious also. Also the pricing is great. Street parking only but I usually walk from work.

My go to item on the menu is the combo(fried gyoza and tempura roll). The portion are quite generous and it comes with rice and a salad. I always select the sesame dressing, it is so good. I sometimes ask for extra dressing on the side. The food is good, price is good, wait time is excellent. What more does one want? Will most definitely come back in the future.

This was my lunch spot when I was working at 1000 Wilshire Blvd. Their combo of a type of teriyaki and a roll plus salad and miso soup for under $ 9 was such a deal. I usually order salmon teriyaki and rotate between a spicy tuna roll, crunch roll or tempura roll. Now that my firm has moved offices to Figueroa and Wilshire, I stopped by Noda on Friday and found the price to be consistent with before and the food quality consistent as well. Such a great deal for a filling meal. They accept cards and are open until 7 pm! Since it’s downtown, parking may be hard, so it’s best for those working around downtown or you can probably try to find street parking/park at the City Target lot.

I’m upgrading my review to 4 stars because I recently discovered their spicy chicken. Earlier this week I came for a late lunch and tried their combo with spicy chicken and shrimp tempura roll. The roll was a bit bland the the rice wasn’t vinegary enough, but the chicken was little fried nuggets of greatness tossed in chili sauce. Then today I came to have some more spicy chicken but in a bowl instead of a combo. I asked for 2 servings of chicken(you get to choose 2 different items or a double serving of 1 item) served over rice. The little pieces of meat is battered and fried to a perfect crisp. The chili sauce is thick and tasty. Oh, and the $ 5.99 bowl comes with a small OK tasting bowl of miso.

I get my weekly sushi fix here. It’s the closest, decent place in DTLA. For less than $ 10, I get the lunch combo: usually the spicy chicken, spicy Cali rolls, salad, rice and miso soup. If I’m really hungry, I can eat the whole thing. Located in the mini-food court on Wilshire.

Ordered takeout from here on Grubhub. Got a spicy tuna hand roll and a philly roll for my BF(give him a break, he knows it’s not real sushi, he just loves cream cheese). They ran out of spicy tuna rolls so we got him a spicy salmon instead :/Philly roll was ok and so was the hand roll. Can’t say much else about this place, it really was just average.

I don’t come here for the sushi, though Noda is becoming one of my cheap lunch staples. And that’s simply because of their rice bowl lunch special for $ 5.99. You can choose between any of the two choices in the bowl(Beef BBQ, Tempura, Spicy Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Chicken Teriyaki, Pork Cutlet, Chicken Cutlet, Tofu Teriyaki Tempura, Gyoza or Salmon Teriyaki) which comes with a side of miso soup. The miso soup is on the weak side, salty and lacks the standard tofu cubes. The tempura is a decent,(shrimp, carrots, potato, broccoli,) though I usually stick the the BBQ beef, pork, or chicken options. Pass on the on the sushi here. I’ve tried one of the other meal combos a while back that included some tuna, salmon, and yellowtail nigiri. Once was enough. The fish quality is on par with a step below supermarket sushi quality, so if you are looking for stellar sushi, go elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a cheap lunch, with relatively quick service, Noda is a decent option to check out.

I guess this place is still in business because of the location. As a pre-bite before going to the Staples center… I should have stuck to going to one of the many places across the street by Nokia Live. $ 5.99 combo bowl comes with enough to feed easily 2 people. The spicy chicken was breaded & fried but soggy. The salmon teriyaki had the strangest texture; almost chicken. Neither of the 2 were finished. The guy behind the counter was nice but I won’t be back.
