Let me start by saying that we went here THINKING it was The Original Thai BBQ. My hubby was a big fan of the their S1 during college(a quarter chicken with the honey dipping sauce). At the whim of nostalgia, we decided to hit up the place. Big mistake. We ordered the pineapple fried rice with shrimp and a pad see ew with chicken. The pineapple fried rice came out almost right away — we took it as a good sign… until the pad see ew didn’t come for a while. We waited and waited… nibbling at the fried rice hoping that the pad see ew would arrive before the next bite. After the while, the pad see ew arrived piping hot. But let’s start with the first dish. The rice looked fine at first… until I took a bite of the pineapple — it was dry and lukewarm. Then I took a bite of the shrimp hoping for that pop! of fresh sweetness. Cold. Cold shrimp. In hindsight, I think that they had a dish already made that had been sitting there and they just decided to push it out to ours. The pad see ew was great, but the fried rice ruined it all for me.

The chow mein looks and tastes like instant noodles. The beef in the fried rice looked and tasted old. The Thai soup just tasted wrong a big disappointment. Also not a single Asian was eating here. Not a good sign. It is affordable though. :/

Best wanton soup I’ve ever had. The cashew chicken was unreal. Personally it’s the best Thai food I’ve ever had

Went here like two days ago because my friends love it and I did too. My first time but it wasn’t like the usual Asian restaurants I go to. The workers were friendly and interacted more with the customers. The food was great, I couldn’t stop eating. I haven’t eaten that much in so long. I’d definitely go back even if it was by myself.

Went to their location on James wood and Vermont but it was full, with half a block of people waiting outside, so I came to the location on 3rd St, and was also packed with people, guess is a local favorite. We had the shrimp and mushroom soup and it was great. The drink and fried rice was good as well. I was surprise for the efficiency of all the waiters and host on the place, very orderly for such amount of people. Great place to eat some good Thai…

Been coming here since I was a little girl. Food is great especially the orange chicken. Friendly employees. It could get a little pack and parking could get a little crazy but it’s worth I think. The food is delicious.

There’s a reason it’s always packed here. Good local thai! Good, fast service. Good prices. Parking lot is very small — look for meter on side streets.

I’ve been coming here since I was 5. Best fast food Thai place in Los Angeles. It is super affordable and the customer service is awesome. The people there are always walking around making sure you don’t need anything. At times the line to get in is long but I don’t mind the little wait is worth it. NOTE: must try the 7 sea soup.

My mom, sister and I decided to come here for lunch since we hadn’t been in a few years. I was excited to eat here because I remembered the food tasting pretty good and the service being decent. That was not the case this time. We sat down and it took a few minutes for someone to come and take our order. Understandable, since it was pretty busy. When our waiter finally came to take our order, he was rude, and kept asking«is that it?» after each item we ordered even though we only ordered like 4 things to share. The food arrived in about 5 minutes, which normally would be amazing, but honestly, who can cook all this up in 5 minutes? It seemed like they had cooked a huge batch of each of these dishes and it was being kept warm so as someone orders it, they would bring it out. The food was mediocre at best, it was greasy and definitely didn’t taste fresh. During the entire time we were eating, the waiter didn’t come to check on us once. I saw him in the corner talking to a customer and laughing the entire time we were there. We finished eating and waited for him to come by so we could get our check. We waited for about 15 mins and nothing. He kept talking and laughing and we had to flag him down, he saw us but he kept talking to the customer. He finally started to head over our way after several minutes and when he got to our table he asked, «what do you want?» We told him we just wanted our check. He came back with the check a few minutes later and we paid at the front and left. After this experience, I will definitely not be back. I’m not sure if the other location on Vermont Ave. is any different, but definitely not returning here.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious, affordable, and they bring out your food fast. I always get(and share) the sea food soup, Phat si-oi(Pad see ew) with shrimp, spicy shrimp with garlic, and singha beer and I am never disappointed. I go here at least once a week and don’t get tired of this food. Parking is really bad here and that’s the only reason why I am giving them 4 stars.

PARKING: free parking PLACE: clean, alot of seating table, there is an ATM machine inside the establishment. minimum 10 $ for credit card use. staff are thailanders. The place is busy but organize. SERVICE: staff are attentive taking our orders, I did order inside and place it as TOGO since i just want to eat at home. the guy who took our order patiently waiting for us to decide which food we wanted to order. he even explain to us the menu. service is fast and quick and organize . FOOD: Spicy Beef Bamboo Shoot and coconut cream: i love the flavor, and not too oily the coconut blend so good in the spices. not too spicy for me since i love spicy food the heat is perfect. serving is good for 2 person. Shrimp with Cashew Nuts and Chili: I definitely going to order this again. i think all the combination and flavor of this food are really good. the only downside with this menu only 5 pieces of shrimp but alot of cashew nuts, the sauce is very taste and having rice with it is perfect. i probably suggest plain rice if you going to eat food with sauces to really taste them. eating the dried chili with it has a nice kick and its really spicy so becareful. thai ice coffee: when i eat spicy food definitely to help your tongue burns heheh sweet drinks such as thai ice coffee is perfect. this drinks is very sweet . * i recommend ordering plain rice for any curry or dishes that has sauce *minimum 10 $ credit card purchase *atm machine available inside *thai ice coffee is good combo when eating spicy food it lessen the spice in tongue its like plum juice same it neutralize the heat in your tongue

ABSOLUTELYTERRIBLE! For the record, I actually like thai food to begin with(I always go to Palms Restaurant around Hollywood) and I expected this place to be good. People seriously hype this place up so much. IT’S ALLHYPE! The food was disgustingly greasy and heavy, the soup was pure water, and the thai iced tea was beyond too sweet. Never again.

I don’t understand how people can give this place such good reviews. I seriously love walking distance to this place and I rather travel to their other location in Sunset and Kingsley. I’ve made an attempt to give this place a try twice, those two times the people have been rude. Once we were asked to wait and stand outside, it was quite cold and I see there were several tables available. Once we were seated they gave us a menu and walked away even after we mentioned we were ready. We waited a little over 10mins for them to return and take our order(we weren’t even looking at the menu at that point). Our food was served at a timely manner only, but it was only to taste that the food was cold and seemed a bit old. Overall both my times here have been awful.

This is my favorite spot for Thai food. Their lemon chicken soup is a must have and can feed at least 4 people! Along with the soup, I would also recommend their spicy garlic chicken and orange chicken. Both are AMAZING! My only negative about this place would have to be the actual structure. The parking lot is located in an alley and parking is very tight and congested. Also, depending on the time and day you go, you will most-likely encounter a long line which extends outside next to stinky trash cans(which isn’t very appeasing when you’re about eat.) Besides that, this place is great! Good food, good price and fast service!

Love the food here! So good. One of my fav places. It’s not a fancy place or anything and weekends are long waits but the food is so good and worth it. The customer service is okay, they’re nice and all, but overall the service once you’re seated is quick. The food comes out within a few minutes and it’s all served hot.

Excellent Thai Food, the looong wait is worth it and the difficulty in communication is forgotten once your food is served
