Totally positive experience on my first visit here today! Came in for new lenses on some existing frames and got both pair done in like 20 minutes! Todd was the nicest guy; like a friendly, familiar bartender. Great prices too. This will be my go-​to place from now on.

The service here is fantastic. I’m coming here my second time now and the gentlemen have been wonderful. Always take care of my eyes and never take advantage in their pricing. Very good guys. Loyal to their customers.

I have been going to Arne since he first started. Before that I saw the people that occupied that Pico/​Livonia optic center. By near and far. Arne is the best optician I’ve ever had and I have been wearing glasses since the eighth grade!
You want to know why he’s the best? Well, aside from the fact that Arne always warmly welcomes me and is always fun to talk to, what I am most grateful for is his talent at choosing glasses that fits one’s face and one’s style. I recently moved to the Valley and no where could I find the amazing variety of frames of all styles, from contemporary «what’s in» to simple and classical and everything in between. So after not being able to match Arne’s services anywhere, I finally went back to the city to get Arne’s help. This time I had one strong intention. I wanted Arne to pick me a pair of glasses that made me cuter with them than without them. And he did it!!! And furthermore,“I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW!” To me, Arne is an optics artist as well as optician.

I’ve been coming here for years, Arne and Todd both have taken care of me. Really great service, at a fair price. And a large selection.

Look, I don’t usually write reviews, but I’ve been to this place for my fourth pair of glasses now, and they deserve a review from me. Even in the face of Warby Parker et al, this place still stands up and stands out. How many places can you get a stylish frame at a good price that they’ll make it for you in half an hour? That’s crazy. That’s unnecessary. That’s awesome. I feel like I’m getting an oil change or hanging at CVS waiting for some antibiotics to be filled. But no. They’re making GLASSES back there.
It’s fun to shop all the vintage frames that you don’t find other places. I’m not into brand names, so I could care less about Ray Ban, and care more about finding something interesting and random, such as a pair of metal frames made by Nintendo. Nintendo? That’s crazy, too. That’s a story right there. They’ll work with you, also, within your price range.
If you need a quick pair, and have your prescription, it’s a good place to go.

BEWARE…The worst place ever!!! I brought in a pair of glasses to get the lens changed and it took 5 trips before I was able to take them home. Trip 1: It started with them charging me for an antiglare coat and they didn’t put it in my lenses, so I had to take it back. Trip 2: Then came to pick it up then the lenses were the incorrect strength… how the f does that happen!!! 3^rd trip: when came back to pick up glasses again the strength in the lenses were still incorrect. 4^th trip: came to pick up the glasses the lenses kept falling out. 5^th trip: finally took glasses home and was told that I needed to get new frames. That’s because they broke my frames from all the times they took out the lenses and having to rescrew my lenses in and breaking it so they screwed the lens in and put a nut on it to hold it together. Who the hell puts nuts & screws on glasses frame to keep the lenses from falling out!!! Beware if you’re thinking about going to this place!!! If you have a lot of times on your hands for the multiple trips you’ll need to make to the store to get your glasses, don’t mind getting frustrated & don’t mind getting damaged glasses then you should go to Arne’s.

Went in today to repair some shattered Ray Ban lenses. After telling them my situation, they gave me a number of different options of ways I could proceed. I wound up going with their recommendation and couldn’t be happier! The new lenses are just as good as the Ray Ban ones that were originally in there and were about half the price! The staff was extremely nice and helpful as well. I’ll definitely be going back to Optics by Arne for all my optical needs in the future and I suggest you do too!

Arne and Lee have been here for years and I’ve trusted them with my vision needs in the past. Fortunately for me (and perhaps unfortunately for them), I found out I was a LASIK candidate and hopefully won’t need their services for a while. But if I ever do down the line, I know I can head back here and they’ll take care of me.

I left work 15 minutes early and I came here yesterday at 5:25pm to check this place out and they were closed?! Their business hours say they’re open until 6:00pm???
I called and the owner said very nonchalantly, «oh you know, I like to close early on Fridays.»
Whatttt???
Change your business hours if you like to close early.

Dr. Arnold is a great doctor. He gave me my prescription and I was in and out in no time. Unfortunately his office is connected to these bozos. When you call either lines the same person picks up. The man at the counter of this optics place is one of most unprofessional etiquette. I called because my prescription was illegible and could not be ready by anyone (except the people here, so that they can rip me off by selling me really expensive glasses). I called everyday for a week only to be told the doctor isn’t in and when the doctor was in, him and the female receptionist refused to let me speak with him about my prescription. He used vulgar language with me on the phone when all I wanted was a clarification on my prescription, a service that I paid for. Still in shock how rudely this man spoke to me. I know this place has some great reviews but if you try to get your eye glass prescription anywhere else this is how they treat you.

These guys are the best! This is my 2^nd time going back for glasses. Both times I’ve been in here I’ve been treated so kindly and professionally. The prices are very competitive and they have a wide range of really fun vintage frames. Optician on site so eye exam to a set of frames out the door is fairly quick and a really enjoyable experience! Thanks, Arne’s!

I typically only Unilocal for stellar service but this is the opposite. I walked out of here w a wildly different prescription and a sub-​par eye exam than the ones I received at UCLA optometry. When I went to switch out the lenses at UCLA I found out that not only was the prescription off but that I had been experiencing severe headaches because there was no prescription lense in my right eye.
When I called to see if there was anything they could do to assist me they cut me off, told me I like to talk too much, and said they would do nothing unless I came in.
I was so offended that I’d rather eat the 80 bucks for the lenses than deal with any of those people again.
The eye exam is dirt cheap, for sure, but, as the old adage goes: you get what you pay for.

I have been getting my Eyeglssses from Optics by Arne for thé last 18 years. They are very professional and courteous. I am very happy with their service and GREAT prices. I wish I can give them 20 stars…

This place is great. These guys are helpful and much more cost effective than Lens Crafters and other competitors. Ask for Lee when you come here and he will take care of everything. Come here for all eye glass needs.

I’ve been going to Arne for years. I’m glad to see their new place. The service remains excellent and the prices keep me coming back. I’m very thankful, and really appreciate small businesses. Buy local keep it local, and recycle our money back into our community.

I am very disappointed with the Optics portion of this business.
I do very much like Dr. Arne and would return to him. However, I bought a pair of frames and lenses there after my refraction. I was told in no uncertain terms that these came with a 90 warranty. I chose them specifically for the style and the color. My frames fell apart and I took them back within the 90 days, and they did not have the frame I purchases, because I obviously purchased their last pair. Instead of reordering them for me (they were Italian manufacturer) they talked me into a very
inferior other pair, and charged me something for them. I bought that scam, and went home unsatisfied not wanting to make a big deal. Now these are broken, and I went back to see about getting them replaced since I was given a bad deal in the warranty.
What I was told on the return is that I was mistaken about the warranty. According to them the warranty covered the prescription.
Why would a doctor warrantee a prescription?
I like Dr. Arne and he had nothing to do with this. I would imagine he would not like this very much. I was also personally insulted because I know when I purchase something whether or nor I have been told it has a warranty. Since this incident, I have heard from several others that they have had a similar experience. I will never return here and hope this is informative.
