Paik Bong Nim Korean Dress Shop

After going to a few other hanbok shops in the LA area and feeling frustrated from the rude services, my mom and I came across this wonderful small shop. The lady that owns the place is very sweet, thoughtful, and patient. Her quality of hanboks are outstanding and she comes with a breadth of knowledge of the Korean tradition. My mom rented one of her beautiful hanboks for my wedding and everyone was complimenting on the modern twist on the traditional dress. I would definitely come back here for any other hanbok needs — I’m hoping to be able to buy one soon!

Paik Bong Nim did the han boks for me, my husband, and my mom for my Wedding, and I could not have asked for more beautiful, custom made, and quality han boks. We went to numerous other places in Koreatown before deciding on Paik Bong Nim, and she was hands down the best. She was patient with us from beginning to end, so nice throughout and the quality of our han boks were the best I’ve seen out there. I now recommend Paik Bong Nim to all my friends who are looking to get han boks made for special occasions. We will definitely be going back to get more made for baby’s birthdays. beautiful quality hanbok dresses!!! the best in koreatown hands down. parking is easyamd owner is so so nice! I’ve been to a handful of others and they are very snooty and impatient. Mrs Paik is sweet and kind and her quality is second to none!

My mom rented her dress here for my wedding and she really liked it and everyone complemented how beautiful the colors were. I bought my son’s outfit here for his first birthday and i rented mine also for his birthday party. It may seem pricey but its so worth it. The owner is very nice and if you compare to other places, the quality is so much better here. I would totally recommend it!

I am the last person to ask about hanboks, so I can’t tell you if this place is better quality than other places or if this place is any cheaper.
But I have been here twice and have been part of the purchasing of 3 hanboks for my wedding and I can tell you that it is expensive. For 3 dresses that don’t really have to be fitted well, it was a few hundred below $ 2000, and not really very many extras!
The hanboks were made out of 100% silk, the dressmaker recommended what colors were appropriate for weddings. Her dresses were very pretty, they looked extremely well made and all the seams were nearly perfect. My mom and mother-​in-​law opted for a beautiful border along the bottom of the skirt and that was an extra fee.
She gave us matching purses and the ribbon in the front of the hanbok was really pretty– it is usually made out of two strands of fabric, but she added a third lighter shade for added effect. She’s good to work with, her crinolines are of the modern type… looks more like a long tank top style undershirt.
I would recommend visiting this place. Parking sucks, the store is located upstairs in the plaza. i couldn’t really see an elevator nearby the store, but there are a flight of stairs nearby.
