Amazing photographer! I felt totally comfortable the entire time and came out with shots that I LOVE. The way Pete talks to you throughout the whole session and communicates with you the entire time to help you get the shot that you want is awesome and I got pictures better that I could have imagined from my session!

I had the best experience with Pete! This was my first time getting my headshots done professionally, so naturally I was a bit nervous. However, Pete made me feel comfortable and it felt as if I were just hanging out with a good friend. We discussed the direction of the looks and he helped me pick out clothes from a selection I had brought in. I don’t really like taking pictures but the session was so freaking fun! The hardest part of the whole process is picking out which pictures you want to use because they are all so good! I can honestly say when I need to update my photos I will schedule another session with Pete… so what are you waiting for?!? Schedule your session. now!

I love my shots! Pete is great about finding mood, place, lighting to really capture the best you. I also loved his make-​up artist that day, Veronica. Fun shoot, great results!

Seriously, I could not have asked for a better overall experience! From my first email to Peter asking him about a basic consultation, he answered all of my questions right away. While preparing for my shoot, I watched all of his Videos on youtube, which allowed me to really understand and create my vision for my photos. With that, I was able to express very clearly what looks and characters I was going for. Peter always listened carefully and helped me bring my vision (s) to life! The day of the shoot was extremely fun, but we also got a lot of work done! An overall very cool, uplifting, and SUPER TALENTED photographer. When I first saw Peter Konerko’s portfolio, I was immediately impressed by how each shot caught a very real expression of the person in an attractive and powerful image — and each was unique — there weren’t repetitive backgrounds or lighting.
I booked a session with him immediately without meeting him or talking on the phone. I needed good headshots. I wanted the guy who did those photos.
I met a warm, real, down-​to-​earth guy, with a sense of humor (and healthy relationships.) We talked clothes and characters but it was more like just talking and then he happily set up like a creative painter as I was being attended to by his make-​up person, Veronica, who did a lovely subtle job.
Yes, he has joy in his work — which is nice to work with — along with the mutual respect and timing — it reminded me of musical improv — with nice, specific communication, appreciation & play. And he shoots so quickly that it’s just easy — and fun. (Did I mention that I have always hated having my photo taken and had been putting off the dreaded event for way too long?)
We did 4 looks in just under 2 hours — and I’ve never had so many choices of expression with each lovely photo. I’ve been an actress for close to 30 years, and I coach actors, and teach directors — and I’ve seen (and had) a LOT of headshots over the years. When casting, I look at headshots and wonder what the actor REALLY looks like — or IS like.
But when I look through Pete’s shots — of me and others –I always feel like I can see an interesting complex person that I want to know more about. I think, as actors, that’s all we can want from a headshot.

Okay so this is a tad delayed but I just had to write it after the weekend I just had. (This will be a long review) I did a shoot with Peter Konerko about a month ago. Prior to that, I had been doing a lot of research on photographers. I had went to some one a couple years prior, and although my pictures were nice, there was nothing about them that said «cast me». I wanted something really different, and I wanted a photographer that understood that I am an actor, not a model. In my research I came across Peter’s website. I immediately fell in love. Not just with his photography, but even with just the style of his website. I figured, «meh, this guy is probably way out of my budget, but what the heck. I’ll inquire.» And I did. As expected, he was indeed more than I was able to spend (with make up and hair), so (sigh), I kept looking. I found many good photographers that were a couple to a few hundred dollars cheaper, but I still had Peter’s work on my mind. I eventually found his channel on youtube about finding «your photographer». He made a lot of good points, and really talked a lot about character work, and actions, and basically just said everything I wanted to hear in my photographer. Immediately after that, I emailed him back with a «Let’s do this». We scheduled our session. For the first 20 – 30 minutes he just got to know me as a person and what characters are my strong suite. He is so kind and easy going, I couldn’t have been more comfortable. The session flew by. He didn’t rush through it by any means, he just made things fun and easy. I also had my hair and make up done by Stephanie who was phenomenal. She applied make up all while making you look natural. Nothing felt heavy at all. Although she is very up for listening to what the actor is looking to achieve. She was so sweet, and made me laugh a lot. They are just great people all around. Needless to say, my head shots came out great. I had such a hard time deciding which ones to go with. I had to ask family members and friends for their opinions. Everyone liked different shots, but also had a difficulty deciding on a «favorite». Needless to say, I narrowed it down. I used my head shots for the first time in a monologue contest this past weekend. I cannot tell you how many times, throughout the day, different people asked me where I went, or who my photographer is, or how amazing my head shot is. Literally crazy amounts of compliments. So… yeah. Pretty good if I do say so myself. Anyway I’ll wrap it up here. Peter Konerko is an AMAING artist with a killer style. I would recommend him a million times over. My session with Peter was incredible. He’s very laid back and sweet. Perfect for generating great emotions in a friendly atmosphere. Nothing seemed forced. And as for the images, they’re like nobody else’s headshots. I’ve taken mine into two agency meetings and had agents drool all over them.
I WILL be returning for more!

Pictures were unlike any ‘generic’ shots I’ve had before. They were more artistic and edgy. So far I’ve been getting 3 or more auditions per week, so they must be doing something right!

Peter is absolutely at the top of my list for headshot photographers. Technically, he is a master of lighting & composition. I feel so confident in putting my shots out there without retouching or color correcting. He really understands how to help you convey who you are in the specific character you’re shooting, which is what I think is the true trick in getting a perfect headshot. He is gifted at his job, and he also happens to be an incredibly genuine, fun, & kind person that you’ll enjoy spending a few hours with!

I highly recommend shooting with Peter. He is a very talented photographer and so easy to work with. He creates a comfortable environment and helps to bring out your essence to capture. I hope to get a lot of work out of this episodic season with his shots. I’m extremely happy with what I got out of our session. Do yourself a favor and book an appointment!

Peter is without a doubt one of the best in LA.
As a theatre director and instructor, I was looking for something a little different than your average actor headshot. I needed a photographer who understands the entertainment industry from the inside and could capture the essence of me in a portrait. I had admired Peter’s work as a headshot photographer but it wasn’t until I saw the artist portraits on his site that I knew that he offered something beyond the others.
The session was not what I expected but everything I wanted. We spent the first half talking, so he could get to know me as a person. His setup was simple and casual. The results are stunning. He captured me. What more could you ask?

I am so pleased to have gotten the opportunity to work with Peter! As soon as I spoke with him on the phone he put me so at ease. I knew being new to LA I needed to invest in a great photographer. I did research for some time and couldn’t quite find exactly what I was looking for until I came across Peter’s work online. What’s so special about his work is that he truly captures who the person is in so many shots. When looking at his work you immediately become interested in the person captured in the shot. Ive gotten so many compliments about my photos and will most definitely be working with Peter again.

I wanted to get solid headshots when I started work in the industry, and I don’t think it gets much better than Peter’s work. Working with Peter was indescribably rewarding. It feels like he can see inside and around the living world, and he shares it in his photography.
I felt like I was being invited to be the best me I could be. Peter has an air of calm and cool that really lets you breathe. After talking with him for five minutes, I had no question that my shots would be fantastic, and I knew that all that was left for me to do was to act. His shots were gorgeous.
Now I have great tools for my work in the industry.
Now I have beautiful moments, artfully captured by an artisan of his craft.

In the past, headshots have been a bit of a chore for me and I was never totally happy with the results. My new agent told me to check out Peter’s work and as I scrolled through his website I saw a variety of working actors: people I’ve seen on TV, people I know from classes around town, people who have taught me in the past. I was sold.
Peter’s asst Emma was super knowledgeable and friendly, and she always got back to me in a timely fashion. On the day of my shoot I had no problems finding Peter’s studio thanks to Emma’s directions. Peter was there waiting and immediately put me at ease as we discussed my outfit and character choices for each of the 4 looks I wanted to shoot that day. He set up the lighting as I had my makeup done. Once we got started things FLEW by and although I did makeup changes with each look, we were done in just a few hours. It is important to note, that I never felt rushed. The great thing about shooting with Peter is that you are not simply smiling at a camera and getting versions of yourself, Peter helps you identify a character for each look (the snarky best friend, the scrappy ADA, the hopeful med student) and from there you can think character thoughts and it’s really amazing how much that comes through in each picture. If you are seeking dynamic shots with depth and character… this is the guy to see.
By the next day I had my shots, and once I made my selections Peter’s turn around for retouching was very fast as well. I’ll definitely be back and have recommended Peter Konerko to all my friends and classmates.

Peter is the best photographer I’ve ever worked with. I was referred to him by an acting coach and ended up choosing him after having reviewed a few other leading professionals in the greater LA area.
Peter is easygoing and and focused. He has a clear vision and an understanding of what he does. In less than two hours we were able to complete a three-​look session with terrific photographs.

Peter is one of the most talented and certainly the most thoughtful photographer I have met in LA. I chose Peter to take my head shots based on a friend’s incredible photos, as he captured the best in my friend who’s work I’ve watched for years. I felt incredibly well taken care of when I arrived at Peter’s indoor/​outdoor studio in Eagle Rock. What could have been an intense, demanding process, felt effortless, and Peter was gracious and professional throughout. Our session began and ended with long conversations, and the actual sitting was incredibly empowering. I felt truly comfortable in front of Peter’s lens. A lot of that comes from the confidence I had in his work to begin with. Go to his website, look at the images and ask yourself if you’d like to be seen in his light, with real texture. The pictures I received were more than I could have hoped for. Particularly given the price range that Peter falls in line with, I can’t think of a better artist to work with. If you come to the studio with open energy, you will be rewarded with an incredible self-​image.

Absolutely thrilled about my headshots! Pete took the time to really talk to me about his process and how to get great authentic pics during our consultation. And I felt relaxed and comfortable which is usually not the case– during the shoot. My photos are nothing like any headshots I’ve ever had in the past. I am showing so many different sides of myself and he knew exactly how to get me to go there. Oh and his make up artist was fun and such a professional! Loved the whole experience and I can’t wait to get to work with them :)

My wife and I both loved working with Pete. We’ve been at this for a long time and we each had such a relaxed and productive shoot. He definitely knows how to put actors at ease. I honestly felt like I was hanging out with a buddy. Highly, highly recommended.

Peter is absolutely the BEST!!! I have taken many professional headshots in my career and most have been pleasant and the pictures were nice. But as an actor, needing to convey that extra something is crucial to having your head shot stick out in a sea of headshots.
This is the first time I feel my headshots really pop and convey who I am and what I bring to the table as far as my playable type. Part of that was myself brining something to our session, but a large part of the credit goes to Peter working with me and understanding what I was going for and his adept abaility to capture that essence on film.
I LOVE my shots and and am so proud to hand it over to casting. Within two days of having my shots and sending them out I was setting up meetings with representation and signed with my manager. I have also been getting auditions so as far as what one would expect from a headshot as an actors primary marketing tool, they are working for me!!!
I know a handful of other actors who shot with him and all have been repeat business and love his work and yes they are working actors! I will be a repeat customer myself in a few years when I need updated shots as I age with grace ;)

Point A– My self submission auditions have doubled since getting shots with Peter.
Point B– I chose to do 4 looks and Peter helped me make each look VERY specific for different roles for MY TYPE. I have a girl next door, a young business woman, a small town vulnerable gal, and a commercial fun girl. I can get in so many more rooms with these kinds of shots.
Point C– Peter usted to be an actor so he knows how to talk to actors to get them into character so you have such interesting, dynamic shots. He makes you so comfortable and is really good at making you feel good about yourself as he’s shooting you.
Point D– His makeup artist in through the roof amazing.
Point E– His shots all look so different per the person he is shooting so your headshot will NOT look like every other person he has shot.
So yeah… he’s amazing. Just get shots from him. :-)
